I just got my LG G Watch yesterday, and I noticed last night when you leave it with the "always on" option where it dims the screen way down, that in the dark I can see the screen flickering. I tried all the different brightness levels in Settings to see if that would change it, but does not. Can anyone else confirm this? You'll have to get in pitch black environment to see this.
Also, is there a way to turn off the "shake n wake", where it turns the screen on from motion? I tend to sleep with a watch on, and noticed this watch is very sensitive to (or that I flop around like a fish when I sleep.. that's possible too) motion, and I'd rather be able to set it in "touch to wake" mode.

I haven't noticed any flickering on mine, but I may just not be as sensitive to it. You can disable the 'wake by motion' function by muting the watch. (Pull down from the top of the screen)

Thanks for the tip on muting to stop the motion sensor from activating the watch. I find it very sensitive and just sitting at my desk working tends to make it constantly wake up. Muting also turns off vibration so I miss when a notification comes to the watch. Maybe in an OS update or possibly a Developer will enhance the settings so you can still get vibration alerts, but turn off motion wake.

I find myself turning off auto-back-light every evening as it doesn't lower the back-light as far as I'd like when its really dark. Would be nice if this could be tuned.
Bump for this question. I would also be interested in an app that can turn off the auto-back-light, because that's essentially what I do every night through the settings screen:
I have set back light to zero, which is overridden by the automatic back-light and when I go to bed, I turn off the automation, which brings the backlight down to zero (which is still too bright, compared to - for instance - the iPhone).
Anybody have a better solution?
+1
When I use it in bed with the lights off it tends to be blinding.
+1 MY EYES! the pain!
Looks like the screen is running at like 30hz or something sometimes, especially when it's super bright. It's not the auto brightness as far as I can tell, it does it with auto brightness turned off. For example, if I go into the brightness settings, turn the brightness all the way up, the part in the background that dims when a popup happens, is strobing.
Anyone else?

Yes, this is definitely occurring. It's happening to me and HTC has not been very supportive about it.

Anyone else notice this issue.
When I use the phone normally. The auto brightness is fine.
But when I use the Camera, I might be in the middle of a Shot or Viewing a shot and it Dims and will not Go back to Bright even after touching lots of controls.
Not until I exit the Camera and Viewer does the screen go normal brightness again. It's driving me crazy.
If I shut auto brightness off it's fine. But I really want auto brightness.
I tried disabling "Auto Sleep" and it still does it.
Had that happen a few time looking at downloaded pictures (not with the camera yet) , I'd look at for a bit and if I handed my phone off to someone or it slipped out of my fingers when I was zooming on picture. It doesn't happen all the time though and I usually go and uncheck auto brightness when it guessing. Maybe the light sensor thinks the lighting has changed when it hasent then doesnt reset

Yeah something like that is going on. And yeah I think it's often (maybe always) when I'm viewing the picture I just snapped it dims.
If you go back to camera or other app it goes bright again. It's really weird.
I tried the Gallery and it dims "Normally" as it should and when you touch the screen it goes bright again.
But if you view the snapshot you just took from the little preview thumbnail button. It dims rather quickly and if you touch the screen it will not turn back to normal brightness.
I was looking at a screen shot when it happened to me, as soon as I touched the screen it dimmed and wouldn't go back. Now that I think about it I conditioned myself to un check auto brightness when I look at pics or videos.
Hey folks,
Does anyone know of a way to have the watch display in ambient mode (instead of turning fully on) when you tilt it? I find that the ambient mode is plenty bright and don't need or want it to light up fully when I just want to see the time. Any thoughts or ideas?
Switch off "turning on screen on tilt" (or something like that) in watch settings in Android Wear app
If you've got auto screen brightness enabled, if you open up chrome, or Facebook, or certain apps, the screen dims slightly... Which is annoying.. Apart from turning off auto brightness (which I like to keep on) is there any way to stop it?
It happens even if auto brightness is off ! Very annoying and there's no way round it :crying:

I can't recreate this problem. The screen does dim itself a few seconds before your screen timeout is set, so that maybe it. Try increasing your timeout from the default 30 seconds under the Display options.

No, it's definitely there...think it's something to do with power-saving or to prevent screen burn-in because these 2 apps have mainly white screens. If you compare the screen of FaceBook / Chrome to an app which doesn't dim ( e.g. ebay) then you can see a definite dimming as soon as you open either one.
I didn't noticed it before seeing this thread. Personally I like it ^^
But I understand that we should be able to deactivate it.
