it is just stuck at the first step where it tell you to connect your device,
I have the latest version of the easy root tool and my xperia z2 is on. 402

Why don't you try unlocking your bootloader and then rooting via recovery ?

Because I want to be able to ta backup and keep all my keys which means I can keep my warranty

Have you ensured that:
(1) USB debugging mode is enabled?
(2) Unknown sources is enabled?
(3) ADB drivers are properly installed?
You need to provide more details on the problem so that we can help. What exactly happens when you connect your device to the PC?

Flashtool can't detect my X10i

A friend of mine gave me his x10i phone to play, so i decided to follow all the proper steps to get the device rooted and install 2.3.4 on it.
I have downloaded the flashtool v 0.5.3.0, but it does not detect the device. I have also installed the drivers on the system from flashtool\drivers folder
When I click Check Drivers, i get the following output:
12/041/2011 16:41:47 - INFO - List of connected devices (Device Id) :
12/041/2011 16:41:47 - INFO - - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_612E\CB511ND245: OK
12/041/2011 16:41:47 - INFO - List of ADB devices :
12/041/2011 16:41:47 - INFO - List of fastboot devices :
Another problem I have is that Debug mode is on, but the flashtool always says it is off. I tried all i could including upgrading the stock rom from sonyericsson site, but at this stage, I am ready to give up. I do not see anyone else is experiencing this problem.
Any advice is appreciated.
screw the drivers in that folder
install the legit ones from the SE webstie
install the PC Companion and it will do everything for you
then try. If does not work message me or reply here
tried it all from scratch at home on windows 7 (first attempt was at work on XP).
At home everything worked fine Thanks!
do you want Unlocking you bootloader?
try my way, its stands in my signature.
I think i was able to unlock it. In fact, sorry, I do not know what "unlocking bootloader" is, but what makes me think that I've done it is that i was able to flash Doom kernel with wifi and one of the custom ROMs on it. Also I got root access on the phone. Recovery console (CWM ?) is working too.
Correct me if i am wrong, but this is as far as i can go with this device and nothing else needed to crack/install etc.
One issue i noticed is that GPS does not work and settings are just not there, but i guess it is a ROM/kernel related question which i will explore further.
unlock bootloader
makes it a lot easier and nicer when you install a custom rom
um
use flashtool

[Q] How to Root the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP 521?

Hi Guys, I read a followed the instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708194) on how to root the SGP 521, but no good results so far. I want to root it without unlock the boot loader to be able to do a TA backup. My experience on rooting is almost zero, but did it with my old Samsung Galaxy Note tablet and the Galaxy S2. Now everything is different from back then so I would like to get assistance on how to.
- I did download and installed on Windows 7 Pro the Easy Rooting Toolkit V17 & V18.
- Allowed unknown installation from the SGP 521
- Activated USB debugging on the SGP 521, Developer settings.
- Run the easy root tool and followed and the tool instructions.
- Rebooted the SGP 521 before connecting via USB to the PC.
- Run the Easy root tool, then it connects but nothing happened.
I repeated the above procedures a couple of times, but same result. I would value your help on how to root it appropriately. Thanks in advance!
My not be helpful but I had a similar problem and realised that when I ran the tool there was a pop-up on my z2 which I had to acknowledge... Might help might not thought I'd share

Could you be more explicit on the "nothing happened" did you had a message from easy root tool? Make sure you have the admin rights when you start Easy root tool.

I run the tool as admin first. But once I followed all required steps and run the tool, it closed it self. Then I run as regular (no admin rights) and followed the required steps. The tool connected the tablet and then stayed with a cursor blinking and doing nothing. I though I could be EMET (Microsoft tool) installed on my PC, so I uninstalled. But after done, nothing changed.

Perhaps check if you have drivers installed correctly and has no any other usb software running when you try root your device.

All drivers for the tablet are installed correctly. I can see the tablet connected on connection icons as well as in the devices admin setting from PC.
I will re-run the tool again & will post more details on what happens. Maybe there is something I am not doing right...

You may also try to run androxyde's flashtool which forces adb connection and also shows if your device is connected correctly. You have usb debucking on?

That all: Nothing happen after all!
This is my Device Specifications:
- Device: Sony Xperia Z2 LTE Tablet
- Model: SGP521
- Android Version: 4.4.2
- Build Number: 17.1.A.2.55
I would like to get help on the follwoing:
- Rooting it.
- TA Back up
- Installing the CyanogenMod
The tablet is from Singapore and I live is US. I have a couple of bugs like not working well the Miracast (It was well at the beginning,) WiFi connection to a guess network (internet only.) I called Sony USA and told me that there is no support for my device in USA so the only choice is to contact the country of origin.
Please help me!

Thank you all! I finally got my tablet rooted. I did use the method advised by Pec74: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900
I also got the new July firmware update from Sony so I decided to updated and I re-rooted the tablet with no problems. I still have problems with mirroring the tablet to TV. Any suggestions for a room which will fix this problem? Thanks all again! :fingers-crossed:

Do not forget to do a backup of your ROM now in case you have a problem. You can use rom manager

Any help appreciated!

Hi everybody - any help with the following problem is appreciated, I've thrown everything I can find at it but I'm just over my head at this point!
My LG G watch worked great, up until one morning when it got stuck in a bootloop - if I had to guess, the battery must have run out at the exact wrong time, during an OTA update. Maybe. Anyway, stuck in a bootloop.
I managed to install TWRP bootloader, and apparently uninstalled everything but the TWRP bootloader, as it now has the 'no OS installed!' dialogue whenever I try to exit.
I had minimal success installing ADP drivers, but never managed to make a PC/watch connection past fastboot OEM unlock. At the moment (a few months after i had that working) my PC doesn't recognise the watch at all.
So I've bought an OTG cable, and the plan is to put a flashable ROM (hey, even the stock one if I can find it) on a USB stick, navigate to it on TWRP via install, and take it from there. Anyone know if that's what I should be trying / where I can find that particular ZIP file?
Also worth noting, I never toggled on ADP debugging when the original OS was working.
Here's the info from the fastboot screen- ANY help is appreciated!
Product Name = Dory
Variant = dory 4GB
HW Version - rev_11
Bootloader Version - Doryz11c
Serial Number - 03b1175b02a23642
MSN - 406KPMZ0096923
Signing - production
Secure boot - enabled
Lock state - unlocked
Have you tried the instructions of the thread about fixing adb after the update? May work for you. I don't think the watch supports OTG...

Let's run through the check list:
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Is your phone on MTP mode when connected to your PC?
Did you enable USB Debugging in the Developer options?
Have you connected the phone to a different PC and tried the process there?
Keep in mind that the problem might be your PC in general. I've written several guides on how to root the LG V10 including performing the dirtycow exploit. Check on the thread and look at the guides to see if they can help you.

Need help with the unrootable Wiko JERRY

This is my second ever post on this forum (although I've lurked for a while). Would any of you be willing to help me out with the rooting process on the Wiko Jerry? I've tried every method I could find but to no avail. I'm completely new to rooting so I might have made some noobish mistakes.
What I've done/tried so far:
- Unlocked bootloader and enabled USB Debugging in the phone's developer options
- Installed ADB/Fastboot drivers (although my device isn't detected in fastboot mode)
- Run every 1 click root software solution (including APK's) under the sun (unsuccessfully)
- Install MTKdroidTools (which couldn't create a scatter file)
- Install Android USB drivers (although I'm unable to install Android Bootloader Interface)
Why do I want to root this phone so badly? I want to be able to recover my files (mostly photos) after a factory reset using Diskdigger and for that I need root access.
I hope I haven't left anything out and I hope you're willing to help a newbie out! Thanks in advance!
