How do I flash it?
If coming from previous Asylum OMNI or official OMNI and you want to do a dirty install:
1. boot into recovery
2. flash the Rom
3. reboot
4. boot into recovery
5. flash kernel
6. reboot
If coming from previous Asylum OMNI and you'd like a clean flash:
1. boot into recovery
2. do a full wife
3. flash the Rom
4. boot into recovery
5. flash kernel
6. reboot
If coming from any other ROM:
1. Copy Gapps and Asylum OMNI Zips to your internal SDCard
2. Boot into Recovery
3. Do a full wife (format data, system preload & cache is the best)
3. Flash Asylum OMNI zip from internal SDCard
4. Flash Gapps zip from internal SDCard
5. boot into recovery
6. flash kernel
7. reboot
8. Don't restore system stuff or apps + data using Titanium, it might cause issues
When you have Root Problems flash the SuperSU.zip

P A C man ALL IN 1
Description
After months of work, the long awaited PACman 4.2 rom is ready for public released. This is still work in progress WIP and there are many missing parts. Though the rom is rock stable for average users. We are working on it daily to fill the missing parts.
Now what is PACman? The idea was to remove the need for a hunt of rom and cure flasholicsm by providing everything xda has in rom development in a single bloat free rock stable rom. This is the FIRST rom of its kind with a hybrid framework consisting on cm10.1, AOKP and AOSPA. What makes PACman unique is this perfect blend of all of these. Be informed PACman is not a "git cherry-pick blahblah yeee i am a dev donatezzz me" rom. It took a LOT of work of thinking behind to merge the frameworks in the right order.

Some MSM8960 specific performance improving patches. If you used a ROM containing them you'll never go back
I am not a developer, but take a look here: https://github.com/rascarlo/platform_bionic
Not sure if that's all. Maybe you could ask Moles or Rascarlo or any other mako dev, most of them are using the patches.

Any chance you could add the option to use PIE when the screen isn't in expanded desktop mode? Seems silly I know, but it's very useful for me.

He was asking, what these patches are about and I told him.
I'm no developer but I'm pretty sure it's a easy one for him to include bionic patches.
Beside that, I got him a kernel log a couple of days ago to get this booted on mako.

The Mysterious ROM is a ROM based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It exists on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 and Samsung I9100 and Samsung I9300 and Maguro and Tilapia and Hercules and Toro and i9100g and Manta.
Features :
Added Linaro
So fast !
Added Bionic optimizations :
morfic said:
bionic is the "libc" of android, there are hardware optimized memcpy/memset and a few others for cortex-a9 and/or armv7-a, but also others specifically for krait, using those instead of stock bionic versions perform the same job a lot better than the more generic versions in aosp.
That affects memory throughput significantly and anything where you move data and need memory throughput using those functions will benefit from it.
there are other (math) functions that can be optimized more for the particular hardware

Instructions:
Download the ROM, and gapps (downloads below)
BACKUP whatever you’re running - in recovery, do a full backup of system, boot, and data partitions
wipe phone in recovery (format system, data, cache, and dalvik partitions)
install rom + gapps (I always flash ROM twice then flash gapps)
reboot and set it up
give it another 10 minutes and reboot again

Known Issues:
I am no longer in the recovery business. Lol
Occasional reboot issues (hangs) - if reboot takes longer than 5 minutes, boot to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache, and reboot
Call echo on speakerphone: this is a CM bug and it WILL mess up dialing your security code in voicemail...
Call voicemail while not on speakerphone, dial your code, THEN switch to speakerphone to listen. ( thanks for reminding me jman315 )
Gallery crashes and reboots phone - Remove any and all mp4 files you have on your phone storage and sd card. For some reason mp4 files that were generated before 4.3 makes the gallery crash. ( thanks _INSPIREed )

I don't need to make recoveries now.
Clockworkmod is up to CWM 6.0.4.3 for our phone now - so using that is fine (as well as the touch version).
Now I can focus attention back on ROM and kernel building.
:good:
4.4 Kernel downloads (aosp/cm/aokp/etc)
In an effort to keep the confusion down on kernel and android versions' compatibility.. pay attention to my naming scheme for kernels.
44.02 = 44 android version - 02 my release number. Next kernel will be named 44.03 and so on. You can always check what version of my kernel your running in "Settings/About Phone".
Right now, I will say that this kernel works with any 4.4 ROM... but guess what? I haven't tested them all, because I have been busy building. Lol. So let me know what works and what doesn't - and i'll update that info here.
Obviously, I'm not responsible for what/how you flash your phone.
Just remember to backup first (just in case), and you'll be fine.
Instructions:
1.Download
2.BACKUP whatever you’re running
3.Flash in recovery
4.Wipe dalvik and cache
5.reboot

It's not the newest, but I've read the newest one isn't that stable, and I've been able to boot other ROMs perfectly fine
Are you guys getting bootloops or what? First time tskes like 5 or 6 minutes to boot up.
It booted for me the first time and I rebooted from recovery and from regular reboot like 25 times without a problem.

Initial boot till WiFi setup then reboots on its own. On that boot it sits at starting apps and I had to battery pull after 10 minutes. After that never gets past boot animation

How often will the Rom be updated?
When i found Time, Real Life come first
How do I flash it?
If coming from previous Asylum OMNI or official OMNI and you want to do a dirty install:
1. boot into recovery
2. flash the Rom
3. reboob
If coming from previous Asylum OMNI and you'd like a clean flash:
1. boot into recovery
2. do a full wife
3. flash the Rom
4. reboob
If coming from any other ROM:
1. Copy Gapps and Asylum OMNI Zips to your internal SDCard
2. Boot into Recovery
3. Wipe data and dalvik cache
3. Flash Asylum OMNI zip from internal SDCard
4. Flash Gapps zip from internal SDCard
7. Reboob
8. Don't restore system stuff or apps + data using Titanium, it might cause issues
When you have Root Problems flash the SuperSU.zip

Great stuff my friend
Looks incredible! I'm at work so it'll be hard for me to try this until I get home.
Could someone on Sprint please report if Data works? It's not working on the Official Omni Rom posted in the Original Dev forum.
Bangsti, can you move the AOSP Messaging app to removed apks? I think a majority will be using Hangouts 2.0 for SMS.
So far:
Clean installs and boots without a hitch. I used full PA gapps and a few of the removed apks from the flashable zip.
T-mo LTE works.
DPI changes (via buildpropedit) work (I use 320).
TiBu works. (ProTip: If your screen dims during batch restore, don't touch it, this seems to upset TiBu and it gets stuck restoring and you have to reboot. It'll finish with the screen dim)
HDR+ works if you use the full PAgapps.
Root works with SuperSU.
Performance is at least as good as stock/other ROMs.
TWRP still takes forever to wipe and install stuff, not Asylum's fault.
First boot took a good few minutes, pretty normal.
Latest Faux beta (002) works.
FauxClock works and properly back sup settings.
AdAway 2.8 installs, applies hosts file and block ads in apps, but not in Chrome yet).
Custom bootanimations (Chromearcs in my case) work if compatible with N4/N5.
CameraMod 1.3 causes camera FC, where it didn't on Stock and CataclysmROM.
DSP Manager works (even with PowerAmp).
--Using the stock restore zip for CameraMOD does not fix it. Attempting a dirty flash of AsylumOMNI over itself to resolve. WORKED!
DPI not preserved through reflash.
ROM, Gapps, Removed-apks, Super-SU, kernel, bootanimation will all flash at once without a boot hang (on dirty flash at least).
Looking forward to trying this out. thanks for this.

Thanks for the Feedback. The AOSP Messaging is notice
Congratulations and well done mr. Krueger.
Anyone tested on Sprint yet?
I know the official Omni nightlies doesn't work with Sprint so far.
@bangsti
I disagree. I still use stock SMS/MMS. Hangouts is just meh. Give users the option. Its only a few steps to set it as the default messaging program.

You might also consider addon.d scripts to preserve DPI settings. Chas has the info if you need it.

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
THE DEV TEAM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE YOU CAUSE TO YOUR PHONE
** Please be aware some builds may not work, and be patient with the Vanir team as they continue to sort stuff out **
DIRECTIONS
Boot to Recovery
BACKUP
Wipe System/Data/Davlik/Cache
Install Rom
Install Gapps
Wipe Davlik/Cache
Profit!
°°For those flashing custom kernels°°
Be aware- Vanir includes a script that enables their own kernel tweaks. This script does not play well with flashing custom kernels. The solution!
Flash ROM
Navigate to- /system/etc/init.d/
Delete the file- 00kernelcompat
Reboot to recovery
Flash kernel
Profit!
You can also open the ROM zip on your PC before flashing and remove the file from the same directory then flash the ROM and you're good to flash the kernel.
**If you dirty flash between nighties, DO NOT wipe system or data before flashing the ROM. It will wipe gapps and the ROM install script won't be able to restore them**
That said, a clean flash is always recommended

I just searched the Xda thread for the N7 (2012) and could not find a discussion on the Vanir ROM. It would be cool to run the same Rom on my N7 and S4.
Where can I find the Vanir ROM for the N7?
