Currently I am running on a mj7 bootloader and nc2 baseband. I want to use jeboo kernel for Touchwiz and its for i9505 will it work or there's any chance of hard/soft bricking .. Sorry if the question is Silly .
Because of the locked bootloader we can't have custom kernels.
So you can't even flash a kernel.

If you have a custom recovery using mdk just flash an me7 rom of your choosing. (Darkslide's or BoneStock) for example.
You do not want to flash the OTA because you will lose custom recovery.
If you flash darkslide it will also upgrade your baseband to me7 also.
Hope that helps!
Also to add to ^ post.. wrong section!

Thanks guys!
Sorry for wrong section!
I can't find someone and everyone is saying it's because of the kernel being different and it'll kill Loki? Why is this? Will there never be a ml1 or even mj7 (if it gets root) stock ROM for MDK users to flash via recovery?

Is it possible to flash a sprint tw rom with safestrap as long as I use the right kernel?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
No, safestrap does not touch kernel and the sprint kernel is different. Safestrap can only run roms using the stock vzw tw kernel.

This is not entirely true. The kernel from a Sprint ROM is still a TW kernel, and it is possible to use other carrier ROMs, but there's possibility you'll run into many issues.

I know, but it is still possible. The kernels are not entirely different, and so there's a pretty good possibility it will run. Just like i said, there will be issues. Safestrap can still run cross carrier, it's possible to run international and people with AT&T phones on safestrap have reported using VZW roms, so it should still work.

Yes but the rom needs the stock kernel that they are running in his case he needs the mk2 kernel to whatever rom he's running already ported into the rom.

The ROM does not need the stock kernel in it. It just needs to be compatible with the stock kernel. Just like on unlocked bootloaders how you can run different ROM's with just the stock kernel, we can too. It does not need to be made specifically with the MK2 kernel, it just needs to be compatible with it which is different and much more possible.
I'm on MK2 right now and it seems hope of bootloader unlock may be in the form of reverting back to mdk.
Of this is the case here is my question.
If on mdk can you flash any stock kernel like mk2 or are you stuck with mdk based kernel. I ask this as mj7 had charger issues but mk2 doesn't.

Where did you see that we could revert, or are even close to being able to?

Not able to revert but has been talked about. I'm just preparing in case it happens and finding out info. It may never happen.

If you're on an MDK s4 you'd be able to flash any kernels that are made for the phone as well as any modems.

So I have just rooted while on the latest mk2 and have safe strap installed....I was looking through the Roms and saw that all the GPE Roms need the mdk boot, but the aosp Roms don't seem to specify mdk or mk2. Just wondering if its safe to flash aosp in a ROM slot while on mk2?
Thanks in advance

Nope, not safe. AOSP will not work. You have to use a Touchwiz based rom.
