I'm trying to get ICS on my Huawei u8680 but my external SD card doesn't mount. I've tried using cement to partition the card with no luck. I believe I have tried formatting it with an adapter on my laptop at some point months ago and had no luck with that either. What are my options?
Edit: Another strange thing is that I CAN move apps to the SD card but it refuses to mount

This might sound ridiculous to you but it worked for me and I hope it does for you too.
1)Check if your sd card is mounted correctly onto your phone itself.
2)Enter Usb mode , mass storage than disconnect usb through the computer.
This happens to me too, but it was because of the SD brand (samnsung). I change it for a kingston and the problem was solve.
During unmounting no app on sd card is seen and no app from market can be installed.with file explore all file browse normaly

If the sd is unmounted, it's obvious that the app IN the sd will not work.

You said earlier that after you updated the firmware , random unmonting of sd card happened. My only advise that I can give you is to downgrade using KDZ.
I wish you all the best.
As i say, if you're using an app installed in the sd and you unmount it, you can't access to that app until you mount your sd again.
If you want to format your sd, first you must unmount it, and then the format option will appear.

I have the same problem. I thought it was caused by the different roms but that didn't seem to be the case.

I wish you all the best downgrading.
Well, if the problems begin whit the update, try flashing or install other custom rom.
Hello everyone I rooted my nook using indirect I notice that whenever I download any app's they do not load to my memory card if I try and put them on the card they are removed from my nook.

Why do you want them on the sd card? The internal storage is more than enough for them to install there whilst having all app data being stored on the sd card.
I would like to have them on the card because I have not set up the nook internals memory to get the full 16gb.

Check your free space for applications. It should be something like twelve GB.

If you rooted with Indirects method then all your apps are being stored in the 12GB portion of the NT. There is nothing to set-up.
So there is no need for the 16gb memory card or can I add it to.

A lot of apps will store data on the SD card. Like large 3D games for example- some are 500MB to 1GB downloads to the SD card.
And of course you'll need it for books, music and movies as well.
I think the Market and Amazon app store require an SD card be present.
what is that path to the 12 GB?
So can anyone please tell me how to set up my memory card where I can move all of my downloads to it.

Are you talking about moving apps? If so, I believe B&N has removed the necessary parts of Android to do this. I don't know that anyone has been successful with it.

How can you move apps to sd card without root. Plus app 2 sd app says my old 16gb sd card I pulled from my evo 3d and formatted can't have apps moved any ideas besides root. However downloads from this forum are stored on this sd card. Maybe I'm missing something coming from an HTC device.

You can't, Samsung switched it up for the S3, apps are assigned to internal storage
So I need it rooted then.

May I ask why you want to move apps to your SD card? I don't think it would be possible to fill internal storage with apps that you actually used on a regular basis.

actually quite a few games now use between 500mb-1gb space... it can add up pretty fast if you install all those really good games running awsomely on the s3

Just asking I have the 32GB version here is another odd find. I use Amazon mp3 when downloading the songs from cloud storage it puts the songs on both internal and sd storage.

Hi my wife has a galaxy S2 but today the phone stopped being able to read her 16gb class 4 San disk sd card. I took it out and tried mounting it in my s3 but it didn't see it either.. She has loads of precious photos on it. Can anyone give me any advice as to what has happened and how to fix it? thank you.

Try mounting the card on a computer, preferably a Linux machine. Then backup the photos and other important files and reformat the MicroSD card.

My s3 is a rooted device and while trying to play a game call jackpot slots, whenever I tried to open the next level, the error message 'sd card is inaccessible' the appear and I am unable to proceed further.
Can anyone advise on how to resolve this issue if you know please?
Thanks.

Is it internal or external sd? If external, remove SD card and put back again or try on your computer. Can be dead Happened to many people.
If internal, go to recovery and perform format.

I think it's not the sd card issue, my friend whose phone is not rooted is able to play the game and only this app has this problem of sd card inaccessible, the rest of the games are working fine.
Furthermore, I tired on 2 other rooted phone and all have the same issue.
Therefore not too sure if it's some other errors. thanks.
