Hi,
I want to use Huawei Mediapad X1 KitKat 4.4 as a carPC.
I have all software and frontend running ok, and I only need to find a way to start/stop (or wake up / sleep) the tablet when detects AC power or not. In other words, I must simulate ON/OFF button with plug/unplug power.
Is there any way?
Thank you in advance!

There are several apps that do this, and one was even featured on XDA. I can't remember the name but I think it's like Auto Direct or something.

Hi I've been annoyed by this for a long time and never found a solution. When connecting a bluetooth mouse to my android devices the left click gives a click as expected but every other button acts as the back button which is very annoying as its easy to accidently press and exit whatever you are doing. Also it would be nice if they did something useful.
When searching for apps to control the mouse all I ever come up with is apps to turn you device into a mouse to use with a pc which is obviously not what I'm after.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? (my tablet is rooted)

I am posting this for anyone who might face the same problem and still be searching for a solution.
PROBLEM: If you have a Nexus 6P (or probably any Android phone) and a "Trusted Device" to make unlocking easier (for me an Asus Zenwatch) when you wake your phone using the simple power button + swipe method, when you try to use Android Pay it repeatedly asks you to input your PIN or authenticate with your fingerprint. It slows down (sometimes making impossible) the ability to use your phone with Android Pay.
SOLUTION: Don't use the power button + swipe method to wake your phone before using Android Pay. Instead, with your screen off, wake the phone with your fingerprint just before you want to use Android Pay, then go immediately into your Android Pay app to make your purchase.
EXPLANATION (sort of): It seems that the Trusted Device method of waking isn't completely trusted. It'll wake your phone, but Android Pay demands more. After all, if all a thief needed was your phone and your trusted device (Android Wear watch, bluetooth headset, etc.) then if they could steal both, they could spend money on your Android Pay. By using your fingerprint to wake your phone, you are providing sufficient authentication to use Android Pay, whereas the Trusted Device wake does not.
Disables the annoying LED when you plug in the charger usb.
I am creating this mostly for myself(for using and learning), but decided to upload it just because I can.
Because of it being for personal use, it has only been tested on the Huawei P8lite (ALE-21), and will probably not work for every device.
Get it on repository.
Well, when I saw it on the list, I thought it won't work anyway because EMUI as this device are stupid. But then I saw that it was made for exactly this device. Thanks a lot.

I have installed it on MIUI 8.2.1 and it didn't work. It's my bad though, I could just disable the charging led in the stock firmware
However, I have a weird issue since then: charging process randomly stops at some point (67%, 82%, etc). I have tried to to revert everything, but I'm not sure if "Start" starts the disabling process or it starts the LED's normal function. Also, clicking on either button randomly freezes the process and there's no feedback if the setting has been changed. Can you tell me what code I need to revert everything? I think it supposed to be a one-liner.
Cheers!
I am wating to use an Android tablet for the main dash in my car running the MSDroid app. There are a few key requirements I need to meet to be able to keep my car road legal using this and I am hoping someone will know how to make this stuff happen from a software point of view.
- The device must power up and down when the key is turned off and on
- When powering up the device must load straight in to the MSDroid app and automatically connect via Bluetooth to the ECU
Any advice would be very greatly appreciated, thank you

Even bad advice?
I don't like too much in my face, so I put a little OLED display where the coolant temperature was.
It's run off a little microcontroller that connects directly to my (ancient, 1995) OBD-1 ECM.
It also spits out that data over USB to my Android navigation tablet so I can see a full screen OBD.
The little display can show OBD codes if they pop up.
The lower left line of the display shows engine running time (when it's running).
I find that important to make sure that I get a coffee every hour.
The images are of the old blue in emulation mode, the new yellow (engine off) and the OBD app.

Thanks,
I'm running an aftermarket ecu on a street/strip car and need to run a tablet for what I want.
As per original post, there are two key things I need to do which will need modded Android software.
