Hi guys,
I've got an XDAII and I want to be able to see / edit the extended rom...
I've found the cab files I need (elsewhere in this forum) but I have no idea whatsoever how to use them?!?!
I can't run them, so there must be either an app I need or somewhere I need to put them, right?
Please help
Thx
Have you transfeered the cab file to your phone and executed from there?
It's a cab file. You put it on the XDA II in a folder of your choice, then run it, after reboot you will find a new icon in Programs. The rest is simple.
When I try to run it I get:
The is no application associated with "00unhide". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application.

Please post the link to the exact file so I can download and test it.
I just got it working...
After I downloaded the .cab, as I have WinRar I thought that it was something that needed extracting and it didn't!

that's the link anyway, but it works perfectly!
Sorry for being such a idiot
No problem, hope its all sorted for you now.

I am looking for such Windows Application since a time, have you found any way to see the icon. .
i'm looking for...
i just tried a Droid Explorer but i can not found a way to explore on the Actual PC. then i have try an other Windows program called Icon viewer but than only works on a dll and exe files, i try changing the extension but didn't work...
the only way that i think it should other that writing a windows applications is to use the emulator with a Virtual Device, then run a File Explorer APK and look in to it. i did but i try to find where is the SD Content in to the PC and i think i found it in to the /User/.android/avd but no lucky putting the apk file on it, i will check it later but i think that one way to do it, i need to read more about the content storage when using the emulator..
Maybe someone could make an addon for Total Commander. Should be very possible to have it extract and use the icon inside the APK.
It already has addons for Blizzard MPQ files, C64 emulator files and Amiga emulator files. Seems very possible that it could get an addon to show this icon as well. I use it to browse APKs already.
i was checking File Expert and just notice you can share or see the SD card content from your PC, but also notice, the APK's you can see how the actual icon for the app looks like...
is there someone could make a modification to this that we will be able to see our Hard drive Apps also?? or could be also good to have a chrome or firefox extension that allow us so see the icon of the app, i'm not expert on this...
regards

I want to edit a apk file so that I can edit its notification tone. I found the notification tone and changed it but after compiling it and installing it gives me a error "App not installed".
For decompiling used 7zip and changed the notification tone and then zipped it back. This is the first time I am editing a file. I am "NOOB", so "NOOB" guides only. Please also tell me where I am going wrong and how to correct it.

You need to sign the application first. Use apktool to sign your apk and it should install

can you tell me the procedure you're signing your apk
You are not decompiling it. You are simply unzipping it. Depending on the app it may not be able to be changed. A lot of apps are now making it so they self corrupt if nodded in any way. Handcent does this.

Hi guys, I'm trying to make a mod of an app.
Using APK Easy Tool (https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...tool-apk-easy-tool-v1-02-windows-gui-t3333960) I decompiled it, then without touching any file (just for test) I recompiled the app,
but when I try to generate a new signature for the app then it is installed by Android but it just crash saying "the application has been stopped", but when I try to keep the original signature I am not even able to install it because Android says "App not installed - the packet might be damaged".
How can I fix that?
I was wondering how people who make modded applications have success in sign and install on any device..
Sorry for my bad english, thanks in advance
