I have 400mb free internal storage space, still can't update many apps in Play Store, as I have the insufficent storage available indicator before updating. I have tried clearing cache and dalvik, but still. I'm on stock. Can anyone suggest me any tips? Thank you.

What ROM are you using? The "insufficient disk space" warning has nothing to do with how much free space there is in your internal memory, but how big your /cache partition is.
Did you do anything before, perhaps freezing/deleting a system app?

Wiping will remove actually... I think you don't have enough space, try move it to sd
I've installed textfree before but I uninstalled on accident. I tried to install again but it says storage is full. I go to storage and I have 1.97 GB of free space. I tried to install a different app and installed it with no problem. I cleared cache but nothing helped. Thanks for any responses.

Hello, I am getting an error for insufficient storage when I try to install some apps. I know how to fix this (by deleting apps obviously)...however I'm just not sure what is taking the space.
When I open up the storage section it says:
Apps - 1.5GB
Other - 4.5GB
I have NO idea what is using this Other space. Is it just cache? I can't click on the other section to see what is taking the space. Anyone know how I can figure this out?
Thanks!

I had this problem too. This happens because when you install apps from the play store most of the time it gets put into the internal storage which is small in comparison to the phone storage (internal sdcard). So to fix the problem go to settings then apps. The apps under "downloaded" is what's in the internal storage so what I do is I go through each app that is 10 mb and higher and move them to phone storage (internal sd card). This should fix it .

There sure is. Never knew that.
None of that works. no matter what. If I move it to phone storage, the app is still in the internal phone storage. Why in hell would they partition a drive and all the apps go to internal phone storage by default and no matter if you move it or NOT the app is still taking space in the internal phone storage. and NOT all apps will move. So how do we make it so that all apps download to phone storage by default?
Hey guys,
so the S2 of a friend of mine has an issue where it tells you that you don't have enough space to install new apps. The Phone is running CM10.2 Stable and I already tried a factory reset. The thing is that she has almost 10GBs free in the internal storage and about 1GB on her (2GB)SD-Card, in the settings under "storage" it says that both were full, even though they clearly have enough free space.
Can you tell me how I can resolve this issue?
Thanks for your time and help in advance.

There is also an internal storage for apps, it's normally 2GB (the first one in settings - storage). Have you tried moving apps to the sdcard?
Reformating the storages? (backup!)
Or use a PIT file to increase the 2GB internal storage for apps.
Okay I didn't see that, apparently there really are 2 partitions labled "internal storage" the one has 12GB and the other one 2GB as you said, App2SD can only move some Apps, but somehow there's something taking up over 1GB of Storage that isn't labled anywhere, what could that be?
Try clearing your logs to free up space

1GB of the 2GB internal storage?
Make a screenshot of your storagespace and post it here.
Here's the screenshot:
It's showing that only about 420MB are used, that means that about 1.4GB are not showing up there and they are used by something else

Strange.
/data is the location. Look in /data/log maybe that's full with logs or something.
Nope, nothing. I tried an app that deletes thumbnails, cache, temporary files and stuff but that just freed a couple of megabytes :/ What else could it be?

Did your friend experienced this problem after he/she flashed this rom or recently flashed cm 10.2?
If so, did your friend got through all the necessary steps?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I flashed it for her, I installed the latest CWM, I wiped /data and /cache and the dalvik cache and then I flashed the latest CM10.2 and gapps at the time. I did that because it was showing this error previously but reflashing CM didn't fix it and that's why I ask here.

Try these steps, backup because everything will be lost.
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Format /system
Format /data
Flash rom
Flash gapps

I tried that today but it's still showing me the error.
Could I somehow repartition everything so that I merge the 2GB and the 12GB-Partition? And if so, how do I do it?

Sometimes logs are good but the space if you forgot to turn the log command off is just a pain in the ass. I had once a 6gb log file

I've had issues with this in the past.
One solution that works: if you have 'lucky patcher' installed, open it, (you'll see a pop-up detailing a cache or something clean), now close the app.
All should be good now.
2nd solution, use 'SD Maid', loads of options and works for me.
Good luck.

Hey i have a problem
My samsung galaxy s3 will not download apps from play store. It says that it failed and that there isn't enoguht space on my Micro SD-card. (I have alooooott of space on it). But it is not all apps it does it with. It is only apps which has more than 1.000.000 + downloades.
Have you tried clearing the playstore's cache and data? After that try downloading again.

Are you on 4.4.2 port?
If yes then all the apps that write to sd card will not install because of changes made by Google related to sd card.
Try yank kernel for 4.4.2..

What about moving your existing apps to the micro SD card to free up space on your internal memory ?
What about signing out/in of the Playstore ?

Try going to /etc then open the "hosts" file. There will be several IP addresses, make sure they all have a hash tag (#) before them.
