I want to be able to post pictures on facebook statuses by using my gallery app instead of facebooks camera roll which is completely unorganized and I am unable to find the pictures i want when using facebooks camera roll, is there anyway to use the gallery app ??
I was hoping there was an answer. We have to keep looking.

There's no solution on that. You just all need is go gallery and find you wanted to upload to facebook. Click the picture and share to Facebook. ?

Is anybody know how to get hi-resolution picture loaded into google contacts? Everytime I upload a hi-res picture "google" schrimp it so it look like crap if I use as contact photo??
This has asked again and again and Google doesn't seem to have this as a high priority. If you upload the hi res picture directly into the web version of Google Contacts it will convert it to low res. However, if you update the picture directly on your phone it will stay as a high res picture. Unfortunately if you wipe flash your phone you will need to change all your pictures back to hi res since when you resync your contacts it will bring down the low res images again.

Yes I know.....I just thought that there maybe was a thirdpart app out that could do the job.............I got nearly 250 contacts.............it is a pain to edit all and update photo, just to do it again afrher flashing!!!!!
Preaching to the choir. I have updated my photos more times than i can count. Thankfully I am on CM9 now and planning to stick with it for a while which should minimize the amount of times I need to do this. I am amazed that one of the selling points of ICS at their launch event was the hi res contact photos but they are not updating Gmail to accept the sync. I suppose they had planned on a greater adoption of Google + but still i should be able to choose the photos I want and keep the synced with the cloud.

Someone on the CM9 thread just brought this up. Haxsync from the market works as an alternative, I've been using it since native syncing was removed.

Haxsync is good if you want Facebook photos. I prefer to choose the photos I choose for my photos.

None of these apps sync with facebook I dont. Have the pictures on my phone to do it manually
There is an option for fb
i use Facebook contact sync by danut chereches. it pulls 720*720 images and links it to your contacts. it can also set how often to refresh the info as well. you can set the pic size if u want as well...
it has a nice feature that links the contacts based on fb notes that are attached to you phone contacts when you first linked it via facebook's app. so it's practically automatic.

As the pictures of facebook are low res, I downloaded an app to insert high def pictures from my computer (HD contact photos)
Now I found a method to download the high res picture from facebook, but cannot find a way to set the contact picture back to facebook picture...
I had an HTC wich had a little arrow next to the contact pictures wich was used to switch between a preloaded one, or the most current facebook one.
Does this phone have this to?

thats the program I use, but (for the future) if I want a picture for a contact of my choice and then after a while want to revert it back to the facebook picture, how do I do that?

This hides my personal fb photos only. I believe the op is referring to having every fb friend's pictures in your gallery in albums. I have friend's and pages liked pictures in my gallery. I haven't found a way to turn that off. If I wanted to view friend's picture crap, I can use the fb app. HTC should have left my gallery alone. :thumbdown:

I agree. The gallery looks so damned cluttered with all that Facebook crap in it.

It will upload your friend's picture as soon as you log into the facebook app or sign in with blinkfeed. Even with sync turned off in the settings menu. The only safe way, use the web browser.

In the photo albums only. Your contacts will be fine so long as you tell facebook to not sync the contacts. I dislike that too.

May I suggest just pictures from the play store as a nice uncluttered gallery app. You can add services to it or more importantly not add them.

According to an article I saw on android central HTC is supposedly considering implementing a toggle for facebook photos in the gallery in the next update.

So I made the move over to AOSP, specifically Revolt JB. I actually like it, I hate some things like Facebook sync not working with contacts, and the keyboard layout. But I can get used to those things. What I don't like is not being able to send gifs. After searching all morning, I can't find a solution. Are all AOSP/AOKP/CM roms like this? I can't imagine all of those users are ok without gif support. Any help would be appreciated.
edit: also can't view gifs in gallery
I've never sent gifs so I don't know try sending it as a video. Facebook contacts don't sync due to facebook and Google complications but there's always haxsync and a few others that will get the job done for u.

sending as video doesn't work. I've found an app to view/send gifs, but the stock messaging app compresses them into static pictures. As for Facebook, I've tried a few different things. I'm not as worried about that now.
