Xposed not working on AOSP ROM - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I see so many AOSP ROMs, and several people using ... And I wonder, still nobody realized Xposed is not working on AOSP ROMs? This prevents me from using a ROM of these, since several modules are important to me. I know that the solution of this problem should be undertaken by the developer Xposed, but if nobody complains he'll never know, I've tried to do this but had difficulties in knowing inform him ...

Nothing can prevent xposed aside a lack of root or the device running ART instead of Dalvik VM
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Strange ... When I used AOSP ROMs (CM, Carbon) did not check that. But I have not changed anything. Let me know if by default these ROMs (AOSP) we find for the Z2 is selected ART? For I have not changed anything ...

I've used xposed on cm, pa, aokp and aosp all worked fine, this was on an s3 but the softwares all the same

I've used Xposed with AOSP ROM on other devices too (S3, razr hd, G2 ...) I'm just having trouble in Z2 [emoji20]

Maybe it's a module? I'm currently using xposed with about ten modules on cm11 and all is fine

[FIX][XPOSED][KK] Fix visibility of multiple non-fullscreen activities

Fix visibility of multiple non-fullscreen activities.
This module patches the system to include this bug fix merged into AOSP on 10 Jan 2014
(This bug appears only on Kitkat ROMs)
Fix visibility of multiple non-fullscreen activities.
Issue detail:
Assume X, Y are non-fullscreen activities.
a. Home starts an activity X in task A in application stack.
b. X starts an activity Y in <task A> or <new task B>
c. Activity X will be invisible.
How to fix:
Because the function "isActivityOverHome" means an activity is able to see home.
But there may have many non-fullscreen activities between the top non-fullscreen activity and home.
If flag "behindFullscreen" is set, those middle activities will be invisible.
So it should only take care from who is adjacent to home.
Then check two flags frontOfTask(task root) and mOnTopOfHome for constraining the condition.
This patch is included in AOSP builds on 10 Jan 2014 or later. However, custom ROMs or manufacturer ROMs may cherry-pick this patch at a later date.
Video of how the bug looks like (using XHaloFloatingWindow)
Those who use XHaloFloatingWindow or XMultiWindow should notice this bug easily.
Notice that only one app can be shown at one time and the previous app disappears when a new one is opened

if we can open two windows normally, aosp patch will be included in ROM right? so no need to install this?
thanks for this ..it will be helpful while changing to ROMs that doesnt include aosp patch..

If you don't see the bug, (that means you can open 2 windows without the other one disappearing), Then you do not need this.
Works great on my Nexus 5, very much appreciate the fix!
It doesn't work for my Nexus 7 (2012) with stock 4.4.2. Nothing changes.

Try to disable, and re-enable the module. If it still doesn't work, post your Xposed Installer Log here.
Still not working after reboot... and Tapatalk doesn't let me attach the log?!
Edit from web
Is this the Xposed Log?

[Q] xposed for Nubia?

I have a z7 mini. Tried the latest xposed version it gave me a resource error and the module I'm trying to use requires the resource api so workaround doesn't help. I installed an older version 2.5.1 and ended up boot looping. Anyone have a solution? Huawei users can disable theme in build prop to get around the issue but I didn't find any such line in my build file!
Gotta use cm or mokee I guess, the Nubia UI isn't made for xposed modules that change the UI, and thus only works partially with resource hooks disabled.

yeah thats what I thought. Its annoying though, the only module I want to use is the snapchat saver, it snot like it should really be affecting the system UI but it wont work without resources enabled. Just wish there was a way to stop the nubia UI form loading at boot just to see what its like.
If you disable the Nubia UI, there is no UI.
ZTE/Nubia modified the Android UI to their liking, its not that they added it to the default look and set it as default.
You can't switch between them rather then switching roms, moving to CM11/12.
There is a way to use it with the nubia roms. In TDBeta forum a guy ported a old version of xposed to nubia ui devices, go to the forums and try to find it. If you cant find it, just PM me and ill send it over to you

Hmm thatnks for that. I am not totally sure if he has really done what he says though. i suspect he may have just made the error message disappear. I still cannot use the module I want (snaprefs) because I am missing the bridge module. So I suspect this custom verison just has that stripped out so no error appears. i may be wrong though!
Right now im in CM12, but when i used the official rom the custom version of xposed worked like a charm. Its old though, but does what it says.

It's 4.4.4 based on CM11 .
I am using it right now ...
It's not a big improuvement from original CM11
But it's nice to see ppl stil developing ROMs for LG L9 II D605.
Much nicer it will be if someone will continue developing android L for this device Since Varcain is too busy.
This rom works very well. About 300Mb ram free using standard rom + some apps.No other apps in background, just the OS.

From the Rom should lollipop otherwise I do not care, I keep the CyanogenMod 11
Yeah,i am waiting lollipop too,but it seams for this device it will not be released! even in "CM12"
A lot of ppl are switching from D605 to a better phone, because this one is "outdated"!
I am waiting my HTC to arrive, and this one i will sell it at a low price.
LG sucks at software,at updating and keeping software updated for old device
Did you include the same improvements of your cm11? (I've just bought the otg cable, it works perfectly :good:, i can't stay without it)
When enable Active display and unlock phone the brightness goes to 100%
Active display won't ever work, our device doesn't has sensor. There isn't much improvments over cm11. Just now I'm working on stock 5.0.3 but got problems with selinux. If i set setenforce 0 i get kernel panic, same problem on cm12.
edit:
By the way lollipop feels like one big mess with that selinux crap and cm12 default theme is ugly.

Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
Full wipe, flash rom, flash gapps, boot
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes

Omw, i could die. This was my fav rom on my Z, pity its cm based, probably has cam bug (fisheye)
Looking for a rom that has all functions like Xposed with Gravity Box such as button, navigation, status bar, gesture, lockscreen...and still find nothing suitable for me.
New Upgrade
One bug that I have spotted so far is that reboot doesn't work properly, the phone get stuck at a black screen and then I have to manually reboot it. Otherwise no problem so far, great rom!

Seriously: BEST ROM for Z3 Thus Far
I've toyed with CarbonROM for a wk, Validus (good but buggy), BlissPop & Euphoria Ninja OS (Best OS prior to this AiP Gem) all over the cours of two wks flashing and playing with different variables (xPosed, GravityBox & xBlast) & this ROM (AIP) is for me the best ROM. totally complete, no need for GravityBox anymore (goodwork) xBlast is useful for its build.prop hacks but you have covered everything with the options for customisation.
Thanks Alot!
All works for me, calls, WiFi, Bluetooth, rebooting, TWRP, MultiROM its quick and i've managed via the fantastic SYSTEM APP REMOVER (ROOT) (not included) to reduce the system down to 47 system apps, so quick couldn't get any other ROM down to such a minimal.
Nice One!

Latest fast ROM without any bugs suggestion

[Q]
I have the last lineage on the phone which is very good. But it has a MTP error which causes a download error, that can be temporary fixed changing USB connection in developer options, but eventually need to do again after a reboot. Is easy, but this phone is with my mother, and is not for her.
Previously the phone was with hyper, super nice appearance but slow compared with that, and she is more familiar with Google style. So didn't like go back to stock either.
So the question is: Which is the most recent rom without any kind of errors ? (not necessarily nougat), also not so customized (because usually many things on menu are in English, and that is also confusing to her).
Sent from my LG-H850 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
If you want a near perfect rom then stock firmware is the way to go but 4.3 is the latest. If you want a bug free latest android you need to buy a newer phone.
ALL custom roms are beta, even when completely finished. The only "bug free" experience is with stock firmwares and roms that are made by the carrier/manufacturer.

True, but in many cases bugs are close to zero or doesn't show a error message as this one.
So do you have any suggestion, with the best non stock (and non stock based ROM) ?
