Hi Folks!
Just a few days ago I switched from an Alcatel Idol 3 (Android 6.0.1) to the Axon 7, Android 7.1.1, B04. Strangely, if I go to Apps, Battery Optimization where one can set Optimization on/off for each app, these changes do not persist. I tried it with a couple of Apps (AquaMail, AccuWeather, WhatsApp, Youtube, eBay) and though directly after changing my settings remain, a couple of minutes later the Apps I've opted for "no" are again in the list of optimized apps and vice versa. This is absolutely annoying and this Android setting was working under MM but on the Axon 7, it does not.
I am using a new, unrooted device.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem/bug?
Any suggestions how to solve the problem? Do not want to do factory reset (phone is running smoothly), but tried wipe cache a couple of times, without success.
Thanks for your help.
Hi everyone,
I have a rooted Doogee X3 running on Android 6.0 and I have an issue with the Google Play Services which are constantly crashing. I know I am not the only one, as I read a lot of posts on the topic, but I haven't still succeeded to fix the issue. What worked at the beginning was : 1. Stop the app, 2. empty cache, 3. disable the app -> factory reset for the app, 4. reboot phone, 5. enable the app, 6. reboot phone, 7. update the app, 8. reboot phone. The first time the issue appeared was after an update from Google beginning of November (the 2nd, if I recall correctly). With this, I didn't have the issue during a short month, was quite happy, but it came back yesterday, and this process didn't solve it.
Why update the app, as it seems the issue shows up after an update ? Because if I don't do it, a lot of other apps is not working either...
Current version is 11.7.46 (434-175121617).
Thank you very much for your help !
At around 23:00 last night, after installing a bunch of updates from Google Play onto my (Previously Unrooted) Samsung SM-G360F (Android Lollipop), all of my Google apps stopped connecting. Youtube, Gmail, Play, Maps, all cant connect. 'Cant Connect To The Server', 'No Internet Connection', 'Sync Error'. I tried to do some fixes and then got fed up. These are the steps I have taken to try and fix this problem:
1. Search online (Scarce and unhelpful)
2. Default accounts to factory (No Fix)
3. Remove accounts from device (No Fix)
4. Wipe app cache and data (No Fix)
5. Change Gmail/Google account settings\allow access\2-step verification\ect (No Fix)
6. NFC Sign-In (No Fix)
7. Use data instead of wifi (Connected one account, wont sync anything, NO FIX)
8. Delete "Hosts" File (No Fix)
9. Factory Reset/Wipe local cache (No Fix)
10. System Update (Crashes Device? Battery removal required)
11. Root Phone and use Thrid-Party software (No Fix)
12. System update after unrooting (Download fails at start)
13. Changed DNS settings (No Fix)
14. Changed Home WiFi settings\Updated Drivers\Updated Router\Reset BTHub\Reset BTHome Settings\Changed Ethernet Sockets (No Fix)
15. Modded Google Services with Third-Party Software (No Fix)
16. Install Custom Kernel (Temporary Fix, see 6. )
17. Reinstall Original Kernel (No Fix)
18. Call support (Useless)
19. Install an app on the device from google play via Desktop. (Weird reaction. Tried to download app, phone notified it couldn't be installed [ERROR CODE 920]. Desktop site now shows the app is already installed and keeps making me sign in again. Same result for each app tested. (No Fix)
20. Unmount external storage (No Fix)
Pretty much given up now. Online support for this issue is useless, but apparrently a lot of people had this issue in the past. I can't afford a new phone and this is just another stupid bug in a long running string of glitchy crap I've had to put up with using these goddamn Android phones. Android has gotten so s**t since Jellybean, and before KitKat I never even had problems like this to fix. It's almost enough to drive me to get an iPhone.
Help?
Hey guys.
I have encountered an EXTREMELY frustrating problem with android 9/10.
I was messing with some options in my phone like 'data usage' and 'permissions' & disabling some apps using adb & greenify.
All of this was common stuff that I'd always mess with, on Oreo.
On oreo when my system apps 'wigged out' I could flash my stock rom a couple times and the system apps/services would go back to normal (Inactive).
On android 9/10 though, I notice that when these same system apps go haywire there is no way to reset them back to their default behavior.
My phone is running about 9 extra services than it should be (mostly samsung services). Also, my battery drain is draining about 25% faster than it should be.
Things I've tried:
1. Wipe data/factory reset.
2. Wipe cache.
3. Reset app preferences from app menu.
4. Reset all settings from reset menu.
5. Flashed firmware multiple times, using odin.
6. Flashed combination rom, to clear google data (this one fixed some of the rogue services, but not all of them).
7. Install combination rom and try factory reset from within the rom.
(Next, 8), I'm going to try Smart switch (PC) to reinstall firmware.
Some of the rogue services I'm referring to:
com.qualcomm.atfwd
com.qualcomm.embms
SVC Agent
Call & text on other devices
com.sec.imsservice:CloudMessageService
android:drmService
Software update
Bluetooth service
Samsung Push Service
Smart Switch (fixed by #6)
Samsung cloud (fixed by #6)
Find my mobile (fixed by #6)
(All these were inactive by default, but after disabling some samsung system apps these are now permanently stuck on).
(I'd like to remind you, I could fix all of the above services from running on oreo, with a simple double firmware flash).
I'm thinking I need to wipe my "system partition", but without root this seems almost impossible.
Has anyone encountered this issue before?
Does anyone know how to wipe/format system partition without root?
Any other suggested ideas would be huge. Thanks.
Xperia 1 J9110, updated OTA to Android 11 (55.2.A.4.47). After the update Google services basically stopped functioning. Sync is not happening for any Google application, Gmail doesn't load emails (except for once in a blue moon), Calendar is unable to sync, Youtube isn't loading anything (but Vanced is working fine), and most annoyingly Play Store just shows an error with "Try again" and only barely works if I clear its data until the next time it's launched. Logcat for these apps only says that some network requests to Google URLs are failing, but the ones that are logged appear to open fine in the browser.
Googling didn't provide any relevant information whatsoever. Sony support email is on radio silence, twitter support just directs me to the website because I'm in the wrong region.
I've tried:
* deleting Services data (though it seems impossible to completely wipe it without a factory reset)
* deleting and re-adding Google accounts
* different versions of Services and System Webview
basically everything I could think of, except for factory reset which I'm very reluctant to do due to a lot of data on the device that will take a lot of time to back up, if at all possible. Nothing worked so far.
I've also tried downgrading to Android 10, but the only ROM I found was for the Russian market, and the device refused to load without factory reset (flashing back to the "Customized EU" Android 11 solved that without factory reset). In fact Android 11 for other markets isn't booting either with a "your device is corrupt" message. I'd like to try Android 10 for EU, e.g. 55.1.A.12.28-R12B, but I can't find it anywhere on the internet.
Are there EU versions of Android 10 anywhere, or is there anything else I could try, except for factory reset as a last resort, to make Google services functional again?
