Rooting the phone is never safe, it avoids your warranty, if you are not sure about where you get adb driver from, I recommend not to root your phone. But if you want go with it http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/ download driver from here. Good luck with that.

Hello,
I just bought a android 4.1.1 mobile that's model name is: Alps E1909l_v77_gq1008_a41_v20. You have probably have been asked this a lot but how can I root it with out bricking it?
I have tried using srsroot (the one click method which didn't work) and I tried using this MTK6577 root which also did not work. This is the phone I bought: amazon.co.uk/--/dp/B00BI1IXFY .
So please help as I really want to root it with out bricking it. As its one of the very vast range of different phones I doubt there is a root method for it that will work/not brick it. If you could before I root it could you tell me a way of backing up the Stock ROM WITHOUT rooting it? I have used adb to back it up but I don't know if that backups the whole phone ROM. All the methods I have used are the fourth post.
Thanks,
Zacy5000

I can point you to a one click root option then you can just use MTK Droid Tools to make back up of your stock firmware. OR you can use MTK Droid Tools to make a custom recovery that will allow you to make a back up in recovery (this way you can back up firmware before rooting but you will need to flash the custom recovery to device first) Let me know which way you prefer to proceed and I would be glad to help.

hi all
new from samsung to sony.
just curious, is it the only way you guys used to root or re-root xperia devices after updates with vroot, tools from DooMLoRD etc? i mean except those mentioned, nobody use other alternatives to root xperia devices (in general, not z tablet only)?
and thus if these tools are not compatible with new firmwares then u r not able to root your device in case the previous root was removed?

You can open the bootloader and then you will always be able to root (flash custom recovery, root, flash stock kernel).

Then I guess you can only root with the exploits and need to be careful about upgrades.
Is it possible to downgrade with Flashtool on locked BL? I think it is (but it's confusing). If it is then you need to keep FTF of the current version in case you upgrade to a new version that can not be rooted.

Hi,
Just unlock your bootloader and flash valid boot.img (for 17.1.1 a.0.402) with a custom recovery and install the update-supersu.zip on it.
This will work.
Ok I need some help to root my Sony Xperia Tablet Z SGP 321. It is not the first device I have rooted but.....all the other devices where not as complicated as the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. I am currently running build 10.5.A.0.230 and the bootloader is still locked. I have got the bootloader key and followed the instruction but it gives me constantly error messages that it can not connect or wrong adress. Doomlord kit I can't get to run.
Maybe someone can help me and give me a step by step instruction for it is very confusing and I am getting pretty frustrated.
Thanks in advance

No, custom roms require an unlocked bootloader, unless they're using the stock Sony kernel.
As for rooting: google towelroot, one click root, no Pc needed and made by the one and only Geohot!

Try kingroot, however, don't try to replace it with SuperSU since it can brick some devices and this device does not have any stock ROM, if you can chat with TP-Link for stock ROM images then you can start to "experiment" with your phone but for now, stick with apk rooting apps...
its not working .......

What experience do you have? Are you familiar with adb and fastboot? If not, I'm unfortunately not going to help you because it can be hard for people to learn it and you might run into issues that you can't fix.
Just tell me I don't know.
Hi devs, Im just wondering if there is already a way to root this device TP-link C5L Neffos TP601A. Thanks, and more power!

Hi first you need to unlock the developers menú then check the USB debugging option and the OEM unlock option at developers menu.... Next you can try to root it.
I already try kingroot kingroot, baiduroot and iroot with no succesful results.

DON'T USE KINGROOT! It has been proven to install malicious malware whilst you granting it root permission.
Try this
Enable Developer Options. For this:
1.- Click repetly times in Build Number
2.- It will show a massage "Your now a Developer"
3.- Enable OEM Unlocking
4.- Enable USB Debugging
5.- On the PC, Open a CMD window.
6.- adb reboot fastboot
7.- fastboot oem unlock
8.. Then you click the volumen up y thats it.
9- You'll lose all your data and fastboot will be unlock.
I did in a Neffos C5 and work.
Success
Rooted successfully with Kingoroot in 5 mins
use king root (not kingo root) !!! just download and intall the apk !
