[Q] CPU Frequency not setting up on its lower spec of 300MHz - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

M having HTC Desire 700 Dual sim Asia.
Processor having min 300Mhz and Max 1200 Mhz. Frequencies.
i have never seen my phone that it operates on 300Mhz
it operates in deep sleep mode and 600MHZ but not in 300Mhz.
having battery issue and i do think that if it operates on 300 mhz then hope it will give battery backup.
along with this if we keep proximity sensor active phone does not goes to deep sleep mode ...

Need help: setCPU...

Hi all!
I'm playing with setCPU and probably I found my high stable freq. to 787Mhz.
I can run quandrant till 825MHz (1300+) but it seems not very stable and sometimes freeze during normal operation.
I set 787Mhz and interactive mode on setCPU and I leave 245 as min freq.
I setup 2 profile in order to downgrade to the original 600MHz and 245 with powersave when the battery is < 20% or the temperature of the cpu is > 50.
My question are:
- Is the interactive mode the best option for our Optimus One or there's a best choice? What is the differenze of the different operating mode?
- What is the "temperature limit" of the cpu? I set 50 but my cpu start from 35 up to 39.5 during stress at the moment. Should I set 40?
- How the min freq influence the performance and the battery life? Is it good to increse the min freq (320?) too?
Many thanks and sorry for the many questions.
is set cpu stable on lg optimus one?

CPU experts needed

Alright so I've been tweaking my cpu using setcpu. So far I've been forcing it to run on each stepping while i drop the voltage 25mV at a time. I've got both the 200 and 500 running at 850mV no problem. The problem occurred when after i set my 800Hz stepping 850 mV and then returned my min back to 200mhz. It locks up every time. 800mhz runs fine on its own @850mV but not with other steppings. I've been told before that big jumps in voltage between steppings can lead to instability but i have all three at 850mV. I was just wondering if anyone m ew why. Also if i force it to run only one frequency will it still go into deep sleep? Thanks

[Q] Need some help with temp

My CPU's temp is ~ 49 degree when do nothing, but when i do something it will come to > 53 degree .
I flashed all Custom rom to find one can help my cpu temp is low but .. it still high.
This is hardware problem ?
I'm getting mid-30s when idle. I suggest trying another kernel.

Which ROM and which kernel are you using?
Also, undervolting will reduce temperatures substantially.
Im using CM9 beta-0.4.5.1-cm-9.0.0-RC0-olympus-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip
Kernel 2.6.32.59-MB860-CM9-gf77ecf8
Jokersax
This kernel may doesnt support Voltages. Open SetCPU i not see Voltages tab.
Can u suggest me some other kernel ?
Try faux123's kernel, and then do some undervolting.
I changed to faux but when change some voltage setting then my phone hang and reboot many times. temp still so high ( i only set -50mhz). Any sugest ?
Try -25 and use profiles for screen off. Don't forget that there's a 100mV delta limit for each step. Are you overclocking your phone?
My current settings with faux123's kernel:
Screen off profile: 216 min - 456 max
Voltages:
1000 MHz - 950 mV
912 MHz - 900 mV
750 MHz - 800 mV
608 MHz - 700 mV
456 MHz - 600 mV
312 MHz - 500 mV
216 MHz - 400 mV
A note about undervolting: not every cpu is the same. You might be able to get an even lower undervolt, or you might not even be able to undervolt at all. Just make sure you uncheck "Set on Boot" until you get a 100% stable undervolt.
Edit: While you're at it, take a look at the "Time in State" info. What frequency does your phone spend most of its time at? If it spends a lot of time on higher frequencies, there's your culprit for high temps.

Which Faux kernel did you flash? You should be using the 1.0GHz kernel. If you are using that and have mild UV then you should have no heat (or battery life) issues. Also, you need to check for any apps which are causing your CPU to be continually under load when it should be at idle. This could also account for higher than normal heat.
Your phone should be able to handle -50 Hz at all frequencies, as that is a very low UV.

I flash Faux 1.0 GHz kernel (my old post) like u said. I will try all you suggest then report soon tks guys
I tried all you suggest but still automatic off (or idle cause i press power button my phone dont start ... it like my phone is hanging ) then I must off my battery to power on my phone.
The average temp around 44 degrees or higher ..
What ROM are you using, and did this problem occur on stock?
I'm using CM9 ICS
Sometime with stock rom, this problem appear. I think it from my phone's hardware. When CPU temp > 50 degree it happen.
Today,
after talk over skype,
view some webpage,
it's seem abit hot (about 45 degree).
After all, i lock screen then put to my trouser. When come to other place I open it, press power and nothing come to screen like its still running so i must off my battery to turn on again.
Flashed many rom from stock to custom but never see one can make me feel happy ). If it from hardware so poor me
Sounds like a hardware issue. Do you happen to use any type of case on your phone?
rieslav canopy
I dont use any case on my phone (sorry my bad english, "case" in your question mean protect item ? ).
I just found, when my phone is hot, it will shutdown.
Today when my battery < 15%. My phone suddenly running smoothly @@. I dont know why.
trying to find a way to help my phone run ok

[SOLA] CPU freq. doesn't stick...

Hi everybody...
Today i noticed a little problem... My sola keeps set the min. CPU frequency to 200 mhz or to 1000 mhz... Why is happening this?
Is due to dual core CPU? How can i make my CPU stick to 400 mhz on governor ondemand?
Thank you,
CappyT
I think you have to set both min. and max. frequency to get it stock on 400 Mhz otherwise cpu is going to scale frequency from 400 MHz to 1 GHz depending on its needs.

Is there any way to get rid of thermal throttling?

Hi,
The new games started to demand more cpu and games like Modern Combat 4 lags as hell when cpu is 800 mhz, when it is 1.2 ghz the game is smooth. I am experiencing this problem on a few more games.
I installed an app that shows cpu temp, when cpu reaches 65 celcius, it downclocks to 800 mhz, when it becames 60 celcius, it becomes 1.2 ghz again, and this problem makes major lags. The problem is the phone reached 65 celcius not more than 1 minute and impossible to play without lag. Undervolting is not a solution and my gpu is at stock speed and voltages.
Is there any solution to lock it to 1.2 ghz. Even I set the cpu to performance governor or set the min scaling speed to 1.2 ghz, it still downclocks to 800 mhz. I think increasing the throttling threshold to 80 celcius or sth should solve the situation.
Use an app like setcpu(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking) you need root but you can just set up a profile that if modern combat 4 is running then min CPU=1200 and max= 1200

Thank you, but the phone is stubborn about downclocking to 800 mhz. If the phone reaches 65 celcius, there is no way (that I found) to prevent downclocking to 800 mhz.
