Hello. I changed my dpi from 480 to 360. But my lockscreen widgets are messed up. It works okay on 320 or 480. It doesn't show the date or the music controls. Is there any where I can configure this? I don't know what I can do.. I've tried searching but nothing. See pics
left pics are what's wrong with dpi at 360.
Right is what I want it to look like.

Huh, so 360 causes some issues on Z2 too - since my old N5 had problems with Google Play Music + notifications. Try 361, which is what I currently use and it displays the music widget correctly + the clock too.
Mind you, at 361 DPI, you won't see the music controls - just the name of the song + album picture. To see the controls, you'll just have to expand the widget, or just simply force it in the Settings (always expand).

Yes but when they're expanded i can't unlock it. There has to be some setting in /~ to force it to use the smaller widget. Does anybody have any idea?

Since there isn't one, what do you recommend? I haven't seem any good ones in the market, and there's too many to search through them all.
I'm a big fan if mixzing. Chris Soyars also has an amazing one for cm6 assuming that gets ported soon.
Pure Music Widget. Is nice, many different sizes and skinnable.
I will check those out, but I ended up just porting over the music apk from CM5 and installing that

Stock 2.1 Music Player with widget.
While the Samsung Music player app doesn't have a widget, it might have something better - if you're playing music you can control the app even if the screen is locked. When you're screen is locked you'll see a little down arrow that you can drag down to show your music controls.
DoubleTwist also has a decent widget.

Not only that, you have your music controls from the notification bar. I don't miss the music widget one bit with these 2 options

I third the preloaded music app. Why do you need a widget that's always on the home screen taking up space and resources whether your listening to music or not when you can have controls hidden in the notification bar that only show up when you're actually listening to music?

Are the notification bar controls tied to the TouchWiz interface or can you use any home screen customizer, as long as you use the Sammy player, and still get the notification bar controls?

Its part of the Samsung Music app, not the launcher, so you can use it with any Launcher
The notification bar and lock screen players remain in place if you use a 3rd party home screen (ADW, Launcher Pro), so long as your using Samsung's excellent player.
I don't like Samsung's music player. I don't like that when I pick an artist, it opens all albums. I like the stock music players way of showing the albums, then opens just that album when you touch it. I don't want to play the entire discography when I just want one album. I know there is an "Album" category, but I like my music by artist -> album, not just album.
If that's not too confusing to understand lol
I love the music controls in my notification bar when using the Samsung player, but if I get a handscent pop up message from a text it gongs that music player right out of the notification bar. Sometimes if I go back to the music app its still there paused, but sometimes not. Kind of annoying, anyone else noticing this?
Edit: Reboot seems to have fixed this now, sorry should have tried that before posting.
I use bTunes because it actually keeps my playlists when transferred over wifi from iTunes on my PC (with tunesync). I'd like to use the stock player but it only shows all the songs/artists/albums...no itunes playlists
I found out that Lithium player is one of the best out there so far.
Great Music effects also!

If you click artists, then on the artist, it will still show each album, it just shows them in a list as opposed to icons for each album.
I've been doing some searching on various sites, all of it fruitless so far, so here I am to ask the hive mind.
I need a music player that has a widget with large-ish controls, say 2x or 3x or so the size of the standard music app widget that comes with CM 7.1 stable. It doesn't need to show album art, but it would be a nice touch to retain the repeat mode icon and shuffle icon, in addition to the standard previous/next/play-pause controls.
Why do I want such a widget? For easier control when I have the Nook propped up on the exercise bike at the gym.
Thanks!
You can look to widgesoid, you can make lot of widget personalization including music control. Mix this with a launcher that allow widget resizing like go launcher or launcher pro..

I tried Winamp's widets, the playback controls were still tiny, as were the stock Gingerbread music players'. I'm running ADWLauncher, and I tried to resize the widgets, but even though I could bring up a resize box, I couldn't get them to scale up.
What about putting the player buttons in the notification power wigets?

I checked the power widget options, and didn't see anything about music player options. Also, I did see the CM options to let the volume button long-presses control the music, but when I tried them, I got no response for several seconds, then the payer went "nuts" skipping forward as fast as it could about 40 times or so.

Unfortunately neither of those are legitimately free. Is there a free option that has large widgets?

I purchased both Player Pro & PowerAmp. In my opinion, they're both worth the money.
Try winamp.
I also need such a full screen widget say with 4 rectangle main playback controls so each one would gets placed on every quarter of screen
Or realize an on screen floating D-pad (pretty missing feature on android) scrolling huge lists etc…
It will be much more delicious being combined with #popup-wigdet app
(Dont suggest me trying root-needing features since every devices aint rooted / rootable)
I don't know how can I have a clock and a weather widget with this rom. I had to download a weather widget from good play, but it doesn't automatically change the time and weather when I move to a different place. I need a OEM widget built in this room. How can I find it.

There are a lot of widgets on the play store, some for free, some for $$$ but the ones I have tried always seem to adjust to the time zone when the time and date configuration are set up correctly, and you need to have location services enabled for weather to change to your current location, also some widgets have either a static setting for location or can be set to use location services.
Try fancy widgets! It's worked for me very well on these roms.

Fancy widgets is very close to beautiful widgets , but it's also free.
All in all. I think that is about the biggest thing I love about sense. Which also means if cm10 or 10.1 gets stable for the amaze,I'll just use fancy widgets and go aosp.

anyone know which music app allow us to choose the song for our ringtone. Google play music can't do that.
Just create a file in media/audio/ringtones
Then drop your songs in there. If you want to create ring tones then get an app called Ring DROID or you can use G-Tunes

Currently using the "twilight" theme, with the default music widget for that theme! zero customization done.
Every time I open from the music widget it asks me to pick a music player, even though I only use Google Play music. Any idea how to just make this open up automatically?

Hi,
Just to clarify, you applied the Twilight theme, then went to music player and select Google Play Music as your default music player? Did you do anything else after that, such as restarting your phone or switching to another theme? If so, Themer resets your default player, and you'll have to set it back.
You can also long press on the homescreen - select Themer Settings - App Preferences - Music - Google Play Music.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply! I actually did exactly that way, and haven't rebooted or anything. It just happens every time I click the widget, even though the default is set in the Themer settings.
Even if I switch songs, go back to my homescreen, and go back into the music app I have to choose which again.
Thoughts? Maybe a bug with the widget?

Don't know what has happened, but my music controls on lockscreen has disappeared, on both Walkman app and on wimp?
Have of course done a Google on this, but could not find anything, any help would be great appreciated ☺

I have noticed this on 402 firmware as well, there are no music controls shown just the album art (not full screen sadly) in Walkman, Play Music & PowerAmp.
On the lock screen tap the widget so it shows the border then drag down on the bottom of the widget to maximise it & you will then seen the volume controls.
Thanks for your reply. My problem is that I don't have any widget showing, therefore I see no album art or player control. Can't add any widget either..
Just tested on my xperia tab 2,and there it shows.
Can't figure out how to get it back... ?

Hmm strange, check settings-security-enable widgets is ticked, I have changed the screen dpi to 400 so thought that was the cause in my case even though Chronus widget now shows correctly (before it was truncated on stock dpi)
Widget is enabled. Tough it might be a bug in wimp, but get nothing when using stock music player either.
