volume down+home+power button combination leads you to download mode. Check your recovery by pressing vol up+home+power button combination.
By the way, Wrong thread.

I m new to app,so I am not used to it..
By the way I tried volume up+home+power button.. It says no command.

When you install recovery through odin if you are not rooted dont let your phone reboot
When the install is finished remove battery and go to recovery through combination volume up+menu+ power

Should I unselect the auto reboot option?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Free mobile app

I tried by deselecting auto reboot option. Still no success

1. Use Odin 3.09
2. Try.
3. If no success... install another recovery such as cwm.
4. From cwm install two flashable zip.

I didn't get 4th point

I mean from cwm recovery you can install twrp recovery as flashable zip.
Get twrp flashable zip and install it from cwm.

[Q] How do I boot to Clockwork?

I paid for the premium version of Clockwork mod, I just rooted and unlocked the bootloader on my phone and I was curious on how I get my phone to boot into clockwork recovery mode. I tried holding volume down, home button and power button at the same time but that goes into downloading mode.
That's because it's volume up for recovery

it is possible that the app didn't automatically set up CWM boot ...
open rom manager
tap on Flash CWM Recovery
wait for the flash to complete...
test it by rebooting from the rom manager app.

It is possible, but holding the wrong buttons like the op was will result in not getting into cwm 100% of the time.

how to ...

im wanting the slick rom JB and I cant find the post listing how....i found the where...
1.not the how?
2.Is "installing a custom firmware" the same as the ROM?
3.if No to question 2, whats the difference?
ok ima try to break this down for ya
1. Make sure you are rooted and have an unlocked bootloader, if not got to this thread and follow instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006946
2. Once you have completed step 1, confirm that you have either cwm(clockworkmod) or TWRP(team win recovery project)
2a. Once recovery presence is confirmed, enter the recovery through the bootloader
2b. To enter the bootloader, while the phone is off hold the power button and the volume up button until the lg logo come on the
screen release once the bootloader loads, press the down volume button twice and then press the power button and then the
recovery will load.
2c. (for a quicker way download the quickboot app from the playstore and select recover from the in app menu)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&hl=en
3. Once in the recovery, you'll need to wipe the cache and the dalvik cache, as well as factory reset the phone(recommended to do so) before flashing the ROM(custom firmware)
3a. Navigate either CWM or TWRP until you get to the install zip directories for each recovery, and then navigate the provided file
browser until you find the file you are flashing, once selected follow the on-screen prompts until the file has been sucessfully
flashed.
4. Reboot your device
5. PROFIT!!!!!!!!!

It generally doesn't matter.

What the differences then? Why other than opinion do some go with one and others go with the other version?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
it's a matter of preference.
I use TWRP myself because it backs up and restores a bit faster.
What app do you use?

Volume Down + Power --> This will take you to Bootloader, from there, you can go to recovery using vol up/down to navigate and power to select.

Try quick boot from play store

You can't get to the bootloader or are you in the bootloader and can't get in the recovery. If you can't get in the bootloader because the button combination does not work, it is probably because Fastboot is on. You can turn off Fastboot in Power in the settings menu. If you don't want to turn off fastboot, turn off your phone, pull out the battery for a second and try the button combi again.
Hey i plan to wipe all and factory reset my phone. So im gonna have to reinstall recovery and reroot.
But which are the bugless and the best recovery in your opinion? Thw cwm by dark passenger or twrp by nexus prime?
My purpose for having recovery are mainly for nandroid backups.
Please suggest

How to boot into recovery?

Just got rooted and (apparently) flashed TWRP recovery but not sure how to boot into recovery. Anybody know how?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2290771
You can also use quick boot to boot into recovery from the OS.

Power off completely. Then power button and volume up. Should do the trick.

You can also just reboot and after the shutdown screen goes away press and hold the volume up button. This will also get you into recovery.
