Ok so i have a lg g2 rooted using CM 11 Nightly (6/16/14 nightly) and i was wondering if the kernel Dorimanxs KK Kernel would work for that CM and the kernel is version 4.8.1 because that kernel version supports knock code since cm also supports knock code. So my question is just if that CM 11 would work for that Kernel.
Edit: Never Mind flashed the kernel and works fine
Does anyone here know if there is a i777 compatible kernel for the galaxy s2 i9100 5.1 lollipop roms . I have tried using Shift- Eternal- lollipop kernel. It was compatible with the i9100 5.0 lollipop CM Resurrection_remix ROM, but I have not been able to get it to work with the 5.1 release.. I have tried replacing the boot image file from cyanide L 5.1. It boots but there is no wifi or Mobile data.

No, sorry. @rogersb11's kernel is pretty much the only game in town now. It's possible (purely speculative) that you've run into problems because he builds his own kernel instead of CM's, and RR is basically CM with added features so you would need a pure CM kernel to port.
Again, that's a guess, as that's how it used to work. He's posted an update to his rom; did you try pulling the kernel from that update?
Steve, thanks for taking the time to reply. I was afraid that was the case. Rogerb11 first 5.1 release was without his lollipop kernel. he stated that he was having problems with his kernel with wifi. I tried porting that kernel and I believe that it just boot looped. His second release with his kernel booted, but then I experienced problems with wifi and mobile. Hopefully he will release a 5.1 standalone kernel that can be ported over to the i9100 ROMs.
The truth is I have not been able to find a stable lollipop rom yet for my phone. The closest was resolution remix 5.02. and I was wanting to try the 5.1 version. Will keep checking the forum. Thanks again
I just bought this phone today and i have installed 4.1.2 Official ROM. Is this the Latest Version? What about Custom ROM's?

Latest android is 5.1.1 on this phone (not stock). I recommend omni 5.1.1 for a beginner for stability
Last official ROM is based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. There will be no more official updates (the phone is 4 years old... I hope you bought it for cheap).
The good news is that, despite being old, stock ROM works good, so in most cases there is no need to flash a custom ROM.
If you want to try a newer custom ROM, AFAIK latest one is Lysergic Acid's CyanogenMod 12.1 .
Don't expect it to be as stable as stock ROM, though.

I bought it for 50 €. What about Speed and Overclocking on Custom ROM? Is it faster than Stock ROM for Gaming and Performance? 4.1.2 works perfect without problems.

Then you struck a bargain. :good:
I never tried overclocking and I just started trying custom ROM myself, so I can't help you.
The only thing I can say is that CyanogenMod 12.1 by Lysergic Acid is slightly faster than last official ROM, but it is not as stable.

If you want overclocking, you need to install a custom kernel like dorimanx kernel (up to kitkat) or gustavo (up to lollipop). If you need speed, lollipop isn't for you (still unpolished and unstable). Kitkat is currently the best option for speed, stability and compatibility. As for a good combo for rom and kernel, have a look at my sig

I think that this i91000 is a good machine... it has a lot of customs roms... kernels.... this phone.... remember me to my old motorola defy plus... an other phone whit a lot of custom roms.... I am very happy whit this terminal....may be not a grand phone whit a big hard... but it has a world of oportunities selcting roms.
Sorry for my bad english.
By the way.... based in a stock rom.. you have Neatrom.... 4.1.2 or based on stock rom has low Consumption and work more light.... then 4.4.4 kitkat y better but spend more battery (no much... you would test it)... for me... the best performance and smothly are the roms based on 4.1.2. but.... but.... but... every phone is a different world.
hi
after trying every rom i could find for i9300 in xda
im trying now the old cm versions
im on cm 10.2 now i really like the rom but i want to install arter97 kernel
is it working in this version
you dont tested ? hehe
and why old roms ? better use 4.4.4 official or latest 6.0
in download mode what is yours phone ? (korea, usa, europe )
I have the kernel source for JellyBean 4.2.2 that boots cyanogenmod 10 and other jellybean ROMS. But when I use that kernel for Kitkat like Cyanogenmod 11 that doesn't work.
To make sure the problem is in the kernel I packed the cm11 boot.img with the jellybean kernel and it didn't boot.
So my question is what modifications does the source need for a newer android version ?
I posted it many times found no answer .
