You will need the kernel source code from the OEM of the device before you can get very far.

There is no FAQ on this as most of the OEM of the clones never release the source code to their kernels as the device is not an official android device.
clear, thanks for the info and the last
question: is it possible to install another rom
device similar characteristics of my device?

I'm trying to get Android 4.4 up and running on my LG Optimus G Pro (GPRO). The GPRO uses the Snapdragon 600 processor which is almost identical to the S4 Pro found in the Nexus 4. I pulled the Android 4.4_r1 tag and noticed that Google already has the kernel (binary) available for the mako device (Nexus 4) and was wondering if I can simply reuse the binary on the GPRO. I know I still need to build the GPRO specific board support binaries which I am in the process of doing but I would imagine that the kernel is something that I should just be able to reuse. Are there any technical pitfalls that I am not seeing here with respect to reusing the kernel? I'm going for a close to AOSP build as possible. I guess I'll find out the answer to my question soon enough but was just wonder if folks have already tried this and was there a great deal of success.

Android 4.4.2 KK OS (V11.10.8.16)
The new kernel code has just been posted to compliment the recent update many of us received. still however, we cannot do much unless we can get our devices boot loader unlocked.
I have two chinese phones I wish to build custom ROMS for however I cannot get the source code of either device. The devices in question are a Doogee F5 and a santin candy u7. My only option is to build using source from a similar spec device. How would I go about the porting of the rom once I have the rom built????
Lenovo is the only company to have released an Android Nougat update for an Intel Atom Cherry Trail SoC powered device.
If Lenovo releases the kernel sources for the Android N version created for its Lenovo Yoga Book (Lenovo YB1-X90F/L), developers can start working on Android N upgrades for other devices powered by the Intel Atom Cherry Trail SoCs.
Lenovo has previously released the Android Marshmallow kernel sources for the Yoga Book (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/tablets/yoga-series/yoga-book/downloads/ds118515 Thus it shouldn't be a problem abiding by the General Public License v2 (GPLv2), which requires Android device makers to publish the kernel source code.

True, we really Need to make Lenovo release the source Code, i hope you could edit your Petition by adding that also we Need Infos about how to use the source Code.
Greetings
I'm not sure that it would make a difference, but has anyone tried posting on their support forums or contacting them directly?
It might help our case to note that the device (the Android version, anyway) has been discontinued. I doubt we'll see any further official updates from Lenovo.
Take a look , Hope this will work for you:

Only via Facebook. Got this answer:
"Thanks for reaching out. Currently, this the only open source http://lnv.gy/2DMoObI we have for Yoga Book. You can keep an eye on the support website as it will be updated if a new open source will be released. Let us know if you have other inquiries."
Feel free to post the link to the petition on the Lenovo forums or even ask them via Facebook/scoial media. The more attention, the greater the chances.
