First what version of TWRP you have ?
Second read this little thing from droidviews : http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-backup-and-restore-efs-data-on-nexus-5/
" 1.Boot your phone into recovery mode.
2.Tap the “Backup” button.
3.Then check the EFS option in the list.
4.Finally, swipe the confirmation slider.
5.Reboot the device.
6.To recover the lost EFS , you can select “Restore” option next time. "

I'm sure I backed up efs when I made the backup because the efs folder is there and has a tar file.If I restored the backup would that restore efs too ? if so,twrp won't display internal SD content when I choose restore for some reason...

Try moving your backup folder in internal storage then restore your efs if this is possible

If you made a complete system / nandroid backup with CWM, then you can restore it in CWM recovery mode => Backup & Restore => Restore.
Good luck !

Hi,
Be carefull making efs backup. Unfortunately, I clear the "efs" the folder when I wanted to do a backup (using terminal emulator), and now I have no phone.
hey guys i have done titanium backup and nandroid but in nandroid i getting this message md5 sume mismatch! and in titanium cant see my backup apps and data can some one help?
can i restore only data.exe4.tar with odin or no chance
Are you using the same CWM version to recover as backed up with ??
Is their no turn off MD5 check in the recovery options ??
jje

Did you start the backup from the app itself? md5 checksum mismatches happen a lot when you do... nandroid backups should ALWAYS be done via the recovery menu to avoid this problem. I'm afraid md5 checksum errors are non-recoverable, but do not take my word for granted
As for the titanium backups, check the /extSdcard/data/com.keramidas.titaniumbackup folder is there and has not been moved or modified in some way (remember titanium backs up to the internal phone memory by default, if you flashed another ROM and didnt backup this folder the backups wont be able to be restored)

Is there some tutorial to do a full NV backup on our phones? Want to make a full NV backup just in case I may hit the IMEI bug.
No because it doesn't seem to be a problem with this phone. However, just to be safe, I used an app called zipme from the play store to make a flashable zip containing the efs folder. I then proceeded to back it up to my dropbox. Just in case

yea, I made a EFS backup through TWRP but just want to be super safe with a Full NV backup. Got the IMEI "0" bug on the S3 and restoring the IMEI wasn't enough to fix it. I had to do a full nv restore to fix the phone.

Seems like something to ask the synergy team I guess, since they figured it out on the s3
Before Installing Recovery / Rom what should be backed up (except personal data) ?
I heard EFS should be backed up and made into several copies.

you are right.
First thing after root = backup your efs folder
Then after you got a custom recovery, making a nandroid backup is always a good idea.
and yes personal data is also good to be saved.
in addition i highly suggest you to read the stickies
after that happy flashing

Well I rooted the device.
Used kTool(Verification screenshot: http://oi57.tinypic.com/s2gl01.jpg) to backup the EFS, got two files: efs.IMG & efs.tar.gz one is 20MB the other is 0KB this is normal? Cause the verification said there's an error of some sort..
I have SuperSU as Root controller, this ok?
