I probably just did something, that is supposed to be impossible. I bricked my LG L9...
I had 20f soft with root and tried to unlock bootloader using some method, that is about flashing KDZ files of V10 and V20 roms using offline mode of LG Support Tool.Well it looks like something is not right. After the whole process, the device rebooted aaaand stuck on the second LG logo, I thought it was fine, just need to hard reset but no. Now, when i try to hard reset i get the "dead android"with the red sign, and every rom i'm trying to flash using this offline support tool gets only to 50% and then says, that the device is no longer connected (?????). I tried to get back to stock rom using support tool recovery but same here. 50% and nothing more. Today, i've bought 910k cable, heard that may help but i'm not sure how to use it.
If anyone is able to help, i would be very grateful. And sorry for all spelling mistakes.

Hello everyone,
I've searched everywhere I can think of to figure out how to solve my problem, and I assume the answer is hiding in an obscure part of an earlier thread on these fora. I was able to root my L9 P760 running Android 4.1(Jelly Bean) and from there naively assumed I could flash the recovery using ClockworkMod. After rebooting I've been getting the infamous "Security Error" screen. I've been able to get the "S/W Upgrade" screen, but that's as far as I got. I believe this means the bootloader is locked.
I followed a lot of instructions I found including using fastboot via omap4boot(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090) and the offline kdz flash(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2085344), but without luck. Fastboot would cause the phone to reboot, losing the "S/W Upgrade" screen and the kdz method would stall at 4%, leading me to find out that the phone needs to be in the "LG Update" USB mode, which I can't achieve because it won't boot.
I have two Macs running OS X 10.7 which can dual-boot into Windows 7. All software is up to date. I have experience using the command-line.
I hope there's a solution to this, and I hope that posting this here can help others avoid this problem in future.
Thanks in advance,
Pieter
Edit: I finally managed to flash a stock version of recovery, the x-loader and u-boot for Jelly Bean using the fastboot script from here. For those in a similar situation, I set the driver for the OMAP4xxx device which goes under TI devices(or something like that) and then I had to set the driver for a device called LG P4(or something, I didn't take a screenshot). I was then able to use the stock LG Mobile Support Tool, via the "Recovery Phone" option, to restore the newest version. However, it still won't boot properly. I get the LG logo when turning it on, and then the animation with the LG logo with the shiny effect on the smiley face keeps running in a loop. Is this the boot loop problem I've seen people asking about? How do I access recovery(and would that accomplish anything)? Any help would be appreciated.
Edit 2: I think I fixed it! I'm just documenting what I did to be helpful to other people. I had tried to do a hard reset earlier, but it didn't work. I tried it just now, and it worked, I got an droid with a progress bar underneath. Then it booted, and I heard the startup sound which I didn't know I was missing. I would still like to know in detail what I did wrong, and what I did right, and why it was right. Thanks in advance.
Simple, you probably did nothing wrong. Things just happen. I had this happen to me once. Security Error
However, I didn't install a custom rom or recovery img. All I did was flash a different kdz version (for my device). So my guess is that the boot img or other img, got corrupted.
I fixed my issue by flashing x, u, boot, recovery all in fastboot. Then I ran the flash update program again and it worked

How do you brick your phone. Did you try to hard reset it? Did you try offline flash or LG mobile support tool to recover your phone?
Dear all,
and thanks in advance to anyone willing to spend some time to help me.
It all started few days ago when I turned off my LG L9 (updated to the last version available for my brand (Italy - TIM), I believe it was Jelly Bean V20C).
When I turned on the phone again, it was stuck on the lg logo.
Then I started to read this forum, and the first thing I tried was the HARD RESET. After that, a sadly image of the android robot with a red triangle lying upon its body appeared.
This image now shows up every time I boot my phone, just after the LG logo.
Then I tried:
- recovery from LG Mobile Support Tool
- followed this guide: [GUIDE] [UNBRICK][ROOT] FLASH Any LG Factory ROM (kdz) WITH OFFLINE FIX
- tried KDZ update tool alone (3GQCT in combination with all modes: DIAG, EMERGENCY, CS_EMERGENCY).
In order to use the Offline fix guide, I run fastboot with option number 2, to upload ICS x-loader and u-boot, otherwise the phone was not recognized by the tool (_IsConnectedPhone(0)).
But in all cases of kdz update, the phone reboots at exactly 90% of the process and after the initial LG logo the red triangle is back again .
Harder reset won't work either after the update.
I tried Italian firmware V10A_00, V10B_00, V10C_00, V20C_00, but none of them works.
I noticed that after the update to an ICS firmware, when I try the hard reset procedure, I can see the android recovery image just one frame before the red triangle appears.
I also tried to install a CWM recovery, but without the bootloader unlocked I got a "security error", that went away with a kdz update.
I searched this forum and I think I can't unlock the bootloader with a bricked phone, am I right?
I plan to make a last recovery with the LG Mobile Support Tool and send it to warranty, so that no trace of fastboot manipulations should be visible (right?).
I have read a lot of threads on this forum (and others) before posting here.
If you know of anything I can try, please let me know.
Thank you!
Absolutely the same...
I have this problem, too. Did you find how to fix it?
What happens during the recovery with the LG tool? I am sure I read about stopping at 90% and a solution somewhere here... search for it, I dont have the time, sorry...

i have the same issue .
at 90% phone reboots and red triangle dead android appears .
i think its a problem with the drivers . tried this on win 8.1 , 7 and xp on 2 different computers . same results .
i got the same with lg recovery and offline kdz method .
would be very nice to find a fix
I brought the phone to the warranty office. They substituted the "pcb main" so I believe it was an hardware problem.
Hello,
I got the same problem. Using the same methods and got no positive results.
Does someone solve this?
hello my friends. have any of you solved this problem?
i did exactly what op did, and no results.
I never had a red triangle issue. This probably neans that the bootloader is kocked AND encrypted. In the beginning this was the case with the US T-Mobile variant, and seemingly for all L9s from the final oroduction run. For other phones you needed to flash a certain stock rom, v10a or the first couple of v20s, then unlock the bootloader.
You should try using the CSE Flash mode from LG Flash Tool 2014.
I have the same problem, the difference is when i try to flash kdz it gives me error at 50%. I tried all the methods that op does but no succes. I also tried flashing img's manually from fastboot, i tried cwm and twrp as recovery.img and even extracted original kdz to img's and flash every partition manually. The system.img is the main problem cause you can't flash such huge file (1gb) through fastboot. Maybe someone have some idea is there any way to unbrick my phone? Bootloader is locked, and device had no root before brick.
So, I'm im at a loss here... I haven't done anything to my phone today other than turn on the Webserver at Boot function in Adaway, which I'm guessing is the culprit here... but based on my inability to fix that, which I've fixed Xposed issues before, I'm not confident.
so I'm bootlooping on LG screen primarily, phone was working fine next minute it was off and wouldn't turn on. Took battery out, etc... thought it was the batteries at first, charged both fully, continued troubleshooting. Rebooted a few times it'd boot, show my unlocked Bootloader screen, continue as if going to TMO screen, back to LG screen.
So I tried to boot into TWRP via Factory Reset method. I follow the prompts and then the screen locks, randomly the bootloader unlocked dialogue reappears.
Computer previously recognized device via ADB, now it does not, even with updated drives and ADB/Fastboot. Had the device install itself a few times when plugged in, did not help.
I was able to boot into Fastboot one time, while in there I thought maybe it's an issue with TWRP, so I reflashed TWRP 3.0.1 through fastboot and ran fastboot with the twrp image command... screen locked and nothing happened.
I'm not sure what to do at this point without Fastboot being accessible through computer or regularly through manual method. TWRP is pretty much,... man I don't even know where TWRP is at this point it hasn't made a single appearance in this troubleshooting session.
Any ideas I'm missing?

If you can get fastboot working again try to just boot twrp rather than flashing it
fastboot boot nameofrecovery.img
Other than that try using lgUP to flash rooted MM if you can get pc to recognize phone

hey bud - thank you for responding. I actually by the grace of god, just got my phone to boot into fastboot mode again. It wouldn't even turn on since I wrote this post so I've just been browsing for alternatives. Literally on the LgUp page as we speak thinking that's going to have to be the route I take even if I lose all my data... at least I won't have a brick. I ended up using a method I've been trying all day, it's weird how it's hit or miss on when it works... held volume down and plugged in USB, not sure why it's working randomly even tried other computers, ports, cables... anyway thanks !

I Knew i was going to leave something out, if I flash rooted MM, couldn't that make things worse if I'm on TWRP for LP. I'll read the instructions on the up page, but at first glance I didn't see them talking about specific recoveries like on the eliminator thread..
You can follow toungkick's method and flash the .tot and kdz to get rooted mm, this will include the proper recovery
Choice is yours on the method but this way is smooth and rooted MM is great on this phone
But yeah, data will be wiped,
If you manage to make it into recovery you can try and dirty flash current ROM on top (no wipe) and see if that fixes things first so you don't loose any data

I'm honestly losing my mind over this one, I've gotten into Fastboot several times but never long enough to flash much of anything. LGUP won't recognize device and the method to get it to recognize the device by removing the battery isn't work. So I tried manually flashing images in Fastboot and also tried Nexus Root Toolkit as a last ditch effort.
The further I've gotten is flashing TWRP again, and reflashing a boot image...
Believe it or not I just booted into TWRP, it wasn't easy at all but the phone finally went through following the factory data reset method... I was in there for maybe 7 seconds and then screen went black and phone powered off.
I'm getting to the point where, since it fully booted once, booted into fastboot, booted into TWRP, I'm not convinced this isn't hardware related? But I'm not an expert there.
The only way, literally that I can get it into Fastboot is to take the battery out entirely, hit power a few times to drain it, hold volume down insert cable... the screen comes on with the battery indicator but it flashes a red question mark and I simultaneously throw the battery in while holding down volume... and fastboot boots right up ... I only have a few minutes each time and even though things are successfully clashing (I also erased the cache) nothings working.
I was in TWRP long enought o know that it appears all my data is still in there, was hoping to get to Xposed to delete... maybe I'll look into the xposed uninstall zip and see if that helps but really.... wondering if my batteries got screwed up somehow with these new cables I'm using. never read anything quite like this one
Closing loop here. Phone bricked for sure. Got replacment on warranty. Back up and running rooted MM tho with jun method.

What happened to the original phone?
Phone died on me, and now I'm stuck on the LG logo. Not actually fully booting.

I was never able to get it to boot. Even tried flashing through lgup and it would never make it through.. I took it to tmobile and got it replaced through warranty. Cost 5 bucks. You can manually boot into fastboot or download mode and flash images if your phone will stay on long enough
Im afraid my phone did the same thing. Ive done all of what you mentioned. I guess i have no other choice but to go to T-Mobile and exchange it. You say it only costed you 5 bucks? How is that..? I thought after you void its warranty ... U'd pretty much be stuck wid ****.???

I found this page (https://guidebelajar.blogspot.com/2015/12/guide-to-flash-bricked-bootloop-lg-v10.html?m=1) and am currently in the process of 'refurbishing' via LGUP.
I was able to get into download mode using the following method
"Now turn your LG V10 H900 (AT&T), H901 (T-MOBILE), VS990 (VERIZON) phone off, then click continuously on the up volume and connect your phone to your PC, "

My Lg G5 (Tmobile) keeps on rebooting to recovery mode (TWRP) no matter what rom I flash. I tried using LG Up software but no matter how many times I install the driver phone is not recognized. Firstly I flashed Fulmics ROM then I installed LineageOS (Cyanogenmod) after that phone was working fine for a while till I saw an update and tried updating it to new nightly version. Please help me out if anyone knows how can I fix this issue.
You probably need to put the phone in download mode and then try LG up otherwise try pushing a rom that works through adb

I am sure this method would fix it but I already returned my phone and got new one as I had 1 year warranty. I bought it from T-mobile and I locked the bootloader before turning in the phone so it doesn't look like I was trying anything fishy. Now instead of phone going to twrp each time it goes to boolop saying "device is currupted and won't boot". It won't go to recovery mode no matter what I do and hope I don't get charged from T-mobile saying this and that.
However, I am really grateful to all of you great people who tried their best to help and you sir actually threw me a solution but I was too impatient to wait for it. I know this method will work no matter what as I had been using this tool for my G2 in old days and fixed the worse bricks where I had to openup the whole phone take battery out and stuffs like this. I was looking for this method found everything but LG tool asked me for .dll file which I couldn't find anywhere and decided to give up on it...
Thank you for your help and now I know I am not going to be bricked anymore as I have this method to work with in future issues and am her waiting badly for Xposed to be available for Nougat.

Good to hear that, You are welcome,
And as you mentioned about "device is corrupted and won't boot", that's because you locked bootloader. And as you were using twrp which means modified system partition so phone said that. But you can still go to download mode and use the method to make it live or can try unlocking bootloader to start twrp.
I experienced similar situation. I thought I had to send my phone for repair. As I was able to put the phone to download mode, I used uppercut with downloaded kdz file from LG G5 development thread and restored my phone. I didn't use my phone for four days thinking that I had to take to a phone shop or send to service center. But after careful reading of unbrick tutorials, I brought my phone back to life. Now I can play flashing anything as I am confident that I can easily unbrick my phone.

A few days ago I got my G5 H830 and came with version 6.0.1 h83010i, looking for information on how to install custom rom, I read the post to install the .TOT file to be able to install TWRP and through this the Custom Rom, until there is Everything okay, I did everything right, but then I decided to go back to the Rom stock, on the night of that same day I saw that when I reboot my cell phone it stuck on the LG logo and it had some color pixels damaged (but no screen Damaged, if not because of small brick) then force a restart and continued the same, I did factory reset by stock recovery and then normal start, I went to sleep leaving it in 100% battery, and when I wake up in the morning the cell phone It is off, when I turn it on 5% and I get scared, then I wanted to go back to custom rom to leave those problems behind, but then when I install the TOT again and install the custom ROM it will restart half installed and any rom that installed it would stay Stuck and the LG logo and a bootloop until when it was flash the kdz several times until the cell did not want to ignite more, the pc does not recognize it or anything, I need help with this.
Hello everyone, I have been a fan of your forums for quite a while, you guys have an awesome community. I have been attempting to unbrick my VS990 with no success, I have LGUP and all of the proper dll files in the proper folders, I have two .kdz. One is the stock kdz, I can not get to work at all due to anti roll back (no matter which option I choose) and the other is the current kdz. I got that one to accept using update, but it did not fix my phone, it is still stuck in boot loop. and using refurbish I get an error message saying that it is not supported by that kdz. LG UP is fully recognizing my phone, I found the .kdz files no problem, I believe that I have followed all of the steps here >> https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/guide-lg-v10-stock-firmware-to-stock-t3224170 any help at all would be appreciated. Side note, I have not rooted or installed a custom recovery.
I would also like to add, I can not do a hard reset. Every time I attempt the phone either locks up when I hit the power key on yes to confirm factory reset, or sometimes it reboots to LG splash screen and locks up then. I am starting to wonder if there isnt a hardware problem with the phone instead of software.
