Hero Noob, Rom Question

I know there is an update out for the Hero to speed up the stock rom, but im not sure if there's one out yet for my Hero. I bought mine online, it's a UK T-Mobile Hero, and im using it in the US.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
You will be wanting the t-mob Uk one from here then
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=559622
Also, IIRC, it wont let you install a version not meant for your phone/provider combination, so you shouldn't need to worry about installing the wrong version
Thanks, i'll give it a shot

ROM assistance

Hey guys... I am trying to help out a friend. He's got an Xda Atom Life that he got from his brother in Pakistan. He attempted to flash a new ROM but couldn't get it working properly. I would like to re-flash the ROM for him, but want to see if there is a recommended ROM for this phone for the USA - TMobile? I don't see a radio thread, so I'm not sure if it's possible to flash the radio separate or not, like I can for my TP2.
Any help would be appreciated!

Flyer from USA no italian language

Hi all,
I buyed a Flyer from my recent trip to USA but there is no no Italian language on it.
Can someone address me to a solution to have it?
Can I flash it with a rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062184
If so which one and how?
Please help me, it is a gift to be delivered asap to my girlfriend birthday!!
thank you very much !!
You need root and S-Off to flash a ROM not intended for the region of the device (US).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194709
Then you should be able to flash one of the shipped ROMs, but you will lose root if you flash an official ROM (should still have S-Off). So my recommendation would be to look around in the Development section to see if there is a custom ROM that supports Italian.
Thank you for the reply.
I don't mind to have it rooted now, just transformed into and European Flyer.
This will be for my girlfriend.
So steps are:
1) S-OFF
2) root
3) use one of the EU stock rom (with italian) to flash it (how I can chose the right one for the 16gb wifi)?
once done the Flyer will be an European one with S-OFF no more rooted but I'll be able to use future update from European HTC (honeycomb?)
Is this correct?
Sorry to stress but I don 't what to screw it up
That all sounds correct, in theory. I would also use Clockwork to backup the stock ROM, before flashing a new one, just in case.
I don't personally know which shipped ROM is the one you want, so you are on your own on that one (or maybe somebody else can help).
I'm not sure if having an S-Off US Flyer with the EU ROM will allow you to get any OTAs or not. Worst case you re-root (which is very easy once you are S-Off) and get a pre-rooted or custom version of Honeycomb once its available.
Thank you very much, I'll try it tonight.
I'll go to a store to check the version of an Italian Flyer to know which RUU to get.
I'll let you know
Everything done!
at the momet I chose the FlyHigh ROM v1.2 (Italian is included!)
Thank you again for the support!

Vodafone One X+ bootloader/rooted?

Just got myself a One X+ from Vodafone UK after a year or so on my rooted Desire HD. Must say the phone is so much nicer, but then it is considerabely more powerful than my trusty old DHD.
Has anyone found the balls to unlock their bootloader and root their Vodafone One X+'s? Better yet, anyone gone as far as install a rom?
Which guide did you follow to do the above?
Thanks.
Ok, so I got my bootloader unlocked and flashed TWRP recovery. Phone is now rooted.
I tried flashing the AOKP 4.1.2 from Maxwen, the international version. I also flashed the boot image that was within the rom zip. The flashed seemed to be successful and the phone booted up.
However, I find there is no phone signal at all. There is also no sound and the wifi just will not turn on. I am unsure what else was not working as I installed a nandroid and went back to stock for now. My trip down the custom rom road is on hold for now while my bowels recover!
I have the Vodafone UK stock rom installed on the phone. Aside from flashing the rom and correct kernel/boot image (and gapps) is there something else I have missed? Radio, basebands etc?
Could have been a bug with the Rom, reflashing the boot.img again might fix it.
Try lloir's or max's 4.2.1 aokp instead, wipe, flash the boot.img first then flash the Rom.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Tried 4.1.2 from Maxwen again. Flashed the latest boot image, wiped then flashed the rom and gapps. Phone started up, again no signal, wifi not switching on, no sound at all.
Looks like I am back to stock again.
I wanted to try the 4.1.2 as I figured it would be bit a more stable than 4.2.
I might give revolution a shot.

Hello, I have the exact same as you, HTC One X+ on Vodafone UK. I Have unlocked the bootloader and just flashed Clockwork mod 5.8.4.0 and daren't go any further incase i mess up, to be honest i have no clue how to root etc. I didn't take ANY backup's whatsoever so is there any files you can give me i may need if i want to revert my HTC back to normal?
I have a HOX+ from Vodafone UK and have installed ARHD with no problems at all, everything works perfectly. The only thing you can't do is install the firmware package because Vodafone are useless and as far as I'm aware are still on hboot 1.30. ARHD is still fine without the firmware package though. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine, it's not half as scary as it seems. :silly:
I'm on Vodafone UK and my hboot is 1.40.
I am happily rooted and flashing roms!

Hello there
I'm just about to get a shiny new HOX+ on vodafone uk after 2 great years on a constantly flashed Desire s..she's seen quite a lot of roms.
I want to be ready to root the day the postie delivers so could you possibly answer a couple of questions for me?
Was it the all in one toolkit on xda you used and if so was it the TWRP international recovery you flashed?
All i want is to root at the moment because i don't think i have the stones to flash any roms straight away
Your help would be GREATLY appreciated :fingers-crossed:
