I finally figured out how to do this using voice commands only. I used Mobilinc, Tasker and CommandR apps on my phone. The CommandR app aloows you to control things using your voice commands in Google Now.
Enjoy!
Ok, Google
I posted this over a week ago haha ^^

Yeah, your way is different though. My way uses CommandR, Tasker and Mobilinc apps to control Insteon, and Zwave devices controlled by an ISY controller. Since the ISY controller and Insteon products are very popular, the only thing one has to do is install the 3 apps. At that point it take 10 seconds to set up.
With the hardware that I have, this way is super easy.

I want to record a macro to setup my GPS apps without hitting multiple buttons. Anything out there to use?
Tasker in the marketplace can automate typical function (ie, power gps on/off when app launches) but it cannot record macros to manipulate the functions of a specific app. I've never heard of anything like that.

I was ready to buy tasker but wanted to wait until I heard something one way or another on this thread. Thanks for the heads up.
If you're on the fence about tasker there is a 7 day trial apk from the dev's website
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/
It's absolutely worth it in my opinion.
Check out this thread for instructions on how to lock the gtab when a case is closed.

Ok everybody look at this video and I think we should all decipher this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjTj0ymhbBw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
This guy of course WILL NOT explain step by step to get it to work the way he did.
Maybe we all can give each other pointers?
We know he's using tasker and auto voice perhaps we all can help figure this out step by step ?
That's a nice impressive setup....
Lets figure out how to do this.
Wow no one is interested eh? Lol
You first need a decent familiarity with Tasker, and then:
- a Z-wave/Zigbee controller, such as the Vera Lite
- a few Z-wave switches
- AutoVoice plugin for Tasker to parse your input and connect them to tasks/shortcuts that toggle the switches.
That's the easy part. He has XMBC on his home theater system and uses Yatse to access that. Read more about how he got this working from the Reddit he posted it on as well as at Pocketables http://goo.gl/AdmEG.
I'm waiting on the Almond+ router before I jump into this since most home automation controllers are $$$.

I was playing with tasker yesterday can u confirm tasker work with HTC one?
Somehow the app kept saying it doesn't have the profile when it does?
This gentleman that posted this is probably not new to the AV scene and programming aspects either. I'm sure there's "more than meets the eye" than what is being shown; he probably spent a lot of time researching before getting the Eureka moment of tying it all together. Kudos to this and other DIY'ers.
I'm sure if we make effort we can figure it out.. AV guys unite!

What I don't get from what I've read is for Z-Wave you need a controller (e.g. Vera Lite) and then you can tie all the devices together, but I don't see anything similar for ZigBee, hows do you get ZigBee devices to talk to each other? I know some stuff will be achievable through tasker but with Vera Lite (or other Z-Wave controllers) you can do everything through the Controller interface.
Hello,
I'm curious what software/app you use for dialing with your S4.
Most of the time my phone sits in my pocket and I use BT for voice dial. I've found the current voice dial seems to be a lot more tedious than my S3. Confirming who I want to call and half the time on confirm - e.g. call Mary Smith at work - there are two numbers what number would you like to call - I press the work number and then it says do you want to call Mary Smith at work and I will say YES and then it goes I can't find yep in your phone book and I have to start all over.
Is there a way to switch off confirmations? Is there a way to switch which voice dialer (I tried VLINGO but it no longer supports BT dial).

I use the headset that came with the S4. Long press on the bottom button and make my calls when driving. I haven't hooked up my S9 to it yet but then again that one is a stereo headphone headset so it goes in both ears.

Thanks. I should have been more specific. I'm curious about the voice dial software people are using and if there are any options within the S4.

I was having a similar problem. Except I wanted to change the default application that was launched when I hit my bluetooth function button in my car. It was launching SVoice by default. SVoice really sucks on my phone when it is connected to my car's bluetooth. Not so with my wife's S4. Not sure why.
I wanted to use Google Search- works flawlessly for making calls, navigation and finding points of interest, weather... but cannot do as much as SVoice or a few of the other apps available. Anyway- a couple weeks I did a series of searches and found the solution on these forums but can't find the the thread anymore...
So in case you are wondering how to change what is launched: you have to go into application manager (under settings) and disable svoice. Now, when you launch one of these apps it will ask you to pick a new default. If you would like to launch Google Search you have to download the app Bluetooth Launch which lets you assign any app to launch when bluetooth function button is pushed. You choose com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity in the bluetooth launch app.

I tried a lot of other apps in the app store like vlingo, assistant, skyvi, maluuba, dragon voice, etc... a lot of them had problems with voice recognition, but had a lot more functionality. Oh and vlingo still supports bluetooth... The one that seemed to have the best voice recognition was assistant.... which i may eventually switch to.

So I finally tried the latest dragon (I think they took over vlingo and their newer version supports BT). It BLOWS the doors off Svoice and google voice dial. I don't need to play music or anything else via BT command so I don't know if it is good or not for that sort of stuff but for calling my contacts from my exchange account, it is nearly flawless. I've only tested for a day but so far so good. If it ends up having issues, I'll be sure to post back.

Thanks fun4stuff!! That's exactly what I was looking for!
I recently posted a question in Q&A about any TV remote apps that can be voice controlled. No luck. I stumbled upon this tasker plugin by Ozkaya that is awesome. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45572797. It allows you to program your IR remote with Pronto hex codes(many found here http://www.remotecentral.com/ as posted in the Dev's thread).
I combo'd this with Utter! and like magic, I was able to program voice controllable macro's, functions, anything really as long as the hex codes were available. And there is alot of them. I have Verizon Fios and the motorola codes worked for my box even though they weren't the same model. To me, this is an awesome show off tool (and slightly practical if I am eating chicken wings and need to switch between football games!). I literally say "phone" to wake up utter and "channel back" or "ESPN". as a command.
I did nothing here but stumble upon a combo of apps that work great together. If you like the idea please check out the thread and thank the Dev's and support their work. I feel this is one of those gems that slipped back a few pages and got lost. Hope you like it too.

I used it on Alpha and Gravitron. I don't believe there would be any limitations on any Rom as long as Tasker and Utter! are installed. The rest is just setting up the codes and then setting Utter to use the Tasker plugins.
If someone really wants to get tweaky, here is another plugin for Tasker that will initiate the voice recognition in Utter! when the phone is on charge and the stop it when is taken off charge. Its towards the bottom of the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34339449.
I'd like to try something other than Google or s voice. I mainly need the ability to add/append something to a to do / or shopping list without having to even touch my phone. (I use some lg tones). I think I tried vlingo 3 years ago, have things changed?
AIVC is a god choice ...
