My Razr is 3 years old, was running super slowly (like 15 mins to unlock it), so I figured I would wipe it and rom it. I've done this before, mostly with my OG Droid back in the day, but not on my Razr. So, I rooted it, did a factory reset (backed up everything to my pc first), installed safestrap, told me it wasn't actually rooted, so I did the rooting process again, worked. got in safestrap, wiped, wiped dalvik cache, system, cache, data, created a partition, swapped to that, installed LiquidSmooth, rebooted phone (as per the instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2782971), and now I just get the motologo then a black screen. I can get into the built in recovery, tried wiping the cashe and doing a factory reset there, changed nothing. I don't know how to use abd, but I'm downloading a utility for it (Droid Razr Utility), any ideas on what I need to do? I installed liquidsmooth off my sd card, not sure if that is where I ****ed up though. If I take the SD card out, the phone wont even give me the moto logo. When left on the charger, it just sits at the moto logo, it never goes away. Just sits there, screen on. AP Fastboot says "Battery Low" and Matts utilities fails to flash. It wont charge when I plug it in, just sits at the moto logo.
Thanks for the help guys!

It happens to me every time my battery charge reach zero, and looks like becomes a common problem, here also.
If you are able to boot in safestrap, do it, then plug the phone in and wait until safestrap shows 20-30 % battery charge! After that reboot and wait the OS to boot normally. The phone needs a OS to charge, but will charge while is under safestrap.
If you can't boot in safestrap. Charge the phone for about two hours (it will show m logo) unplug it and reboot with power + vol. up + vol. down! The phone should pass through m logo to safestrap, and you will be able to charged it under safestrap.

It never goes past the M logo, I can't get into safestrap. If I could, I would be able to change to my safe partition and boot, but I can't. It's like its stuck trying to boot into a partition with a failed flash on it. Using recovery to factory reset isn't helping at all. And because the battery is now low (it was 100% when I started this, RAZRs just die SUPER fast), Matts Utility wont flash it.

It's been "charging" for 12 hours now, still says "Battery low" in AP Fastboot. Still can't flash it. When I try to normal boot, I still just get the M and then it goes to a black screen.

You can normally boot only once in the short period after unplugging the phone and only if the phone is charged enough - about two hours. You need to be patient, everything you doing with the phone while it charges can brake the magic. After normally booting to safestrap quickly plug the phone again to charge.
Also charge the phone only in the network not by usb.
If this method fails only way to charge the phone enough to flash it with Matts Utilities is via factory cable.

Yes, I used the search bar and frankly, the thing sucks...
So like the title says, I made the backup, hit reboot system now, and it went to the logo. I gave it a good 5 minutes to startup and nothing. I decided to boot into Android Recovery and wipe cache. Still nothing.
I'm thinking I might have to sbf; Im I right or wrong?
Have you tried pulling battery and putting the battery back in with phone off and plug it to the wall charger and if you have bsr it should come up. Then you can wipe and reload your back up

How do I get onto bsr from there?
Just plug the phone into a wall charger (with the phone off) and it will turn itself on and should boot to recovery.
If you wiped data bsr is gone. Pull batt & wait 5 min if hangs its sbf time. Use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426062
So you can wipe data from bsr.
I just went ahead an sbf'd and re-flashed miui.
At first I tried flashing the ElementalX kernel and my screen didn't turn on. So I waited a day and the htc logo finally showed up and I immediately went into recovery. I already had the Renovate Rom before so I tried installing it as I did a while back. I made a noobie mistake by not realizing that my battery life was at 13 percent. So I tried installing the rom. And its stuck where it says "System Unmounted Already" At the bottom it says its at 20 percent and its installing the rom. However, its already been 2 hours since its been at 20 percent. I currently have the htc one charging but I presume that it wont be solved by just charging it considering that the red light isn't on. Please help me find a solution. To make matters worse I only have a mac laptop.

I had a flash go bad and get stuck on mine, I just rebooted it into Recovery (power & vol down), did a full wipe, including cache & dalvik cache, and ran the flash again, it worked. Are you not able to get back into recovery?

I fixed it. At first I wasn't able to get back into recovery since the phone was turned off and didn't turn on. However, I let the phone stay still for about a day and let the battery die. I than charged it and put it back into recovery as soon as I saw the htc logo.
Hi guys,
My XT910 ran Cyanogenmod 11, Kitkat Nightly. Tonight an OTA update appeared (something called snapshot or something). Thought it might fix some thing that were not quite right in my version so decided to update. At some point during this process the screen went black then the M logo appeared than the android recovery menu (i can load it). And nothing else. I tried rebooting, wiping cache, reset to factory, nothing works. Copied several ROM on the sd card because i have the option to update from sd. Nada. I gotta tell you i'm on a Mac and i cant change that this week, no Windows till next week. And probably the battery is draining...
What to do?
This is how it goes:
I can not power down the device
It restarts periodically if no action taken
at first the M logo appears
instead of CM logo there is a robot with an exclamation mark inside a red triangle
i can get into recovery menu by pressing the volume keys
i can choose one of the options but nothing else
when applying updates from sd card (stock 4.1.2, nightly rom or snapshot rom) it goes up to "verifying update" then it abandons
Later edit:if i reboot from recovery menu and when it powers off i press pwr and vol- it goes to boot menu. No windows means no adb hence power off from that menu. when i plug in the charger, the M logo appears andstays there. Question: if it does actually charge the battery and i dont fix it before getting a windows, what kind of rom should i flash? Stock?
OK, I tried updating the M10 snapshot today over my current M9 snapshot that I had installed.
As it was updating, the screen went off and then I couldn't get anywhere past the M Logo, pressing the volume keys I'm also able to navigate to recovery etc.. but that's it.
I was not able to boot the phone off and even though the screen was off, I don't believe the phone was off. When I got home, the only thing I knew to do was to flash a stock JB rom using RSD Lite. But when I tried flashing it a few moments ago, it failed - the battery is low apparently. Putting it on charge I can now see a charging logo on the screen that is not centered, but I believe it is charging. Once I've got some juice I will try flashing it again, and then I think it's a whole process of rooting it, installing SafeStrap again, and then starting over with CM11.
I don't know if you can even get RSD Lite for MAC, but it's the only way I know that should work to get the phone back up and running.
Thanks for sharing.
There is no RSD for Mac, nor something similar. But i've managed to set up a virtual xp machine (modern.ie), installed everything, captured the usb port with the phone stating "usb connected". Unfortunately i just couldnt connect the phone to rsd, no matter what i did.
Oh gosh.
I managed to get my phone back by flashing the stock JB rom and then working from there.
Try going to the boot menu thing (hold down all keys) and then navigate to AP fastboot. RSD lite should see the phone in this mode.
But make sure the battery is OK first. I did manage to charge it to 40% and it then flashed after it had some charge. Seemed to flash it a little differently than other times. Also the phone said "Device is LOCKED", but thankfully it all worked out fine. Now I'm on CM11 09/15 Nightly.
Have you installed the Motorola drivers?
Maybe you can't do it through a VM.

"Device is locked" means that bootloader is locked in our phones, except those few developer edition models.
Sent from my Razr XT910
I'm glad you could do it. Mine seems to charge as well, it's now close to 24h since it bricked and i assume it would just die if it wouldnt charge in that particular state. Fortunately the keys on the Mac keyboard started working again after drinking beer two nights ago so i dont need to trick the virtual machine anymore, but unfortunately i just cannot get the rsd to see the phone on this VM. Probably should try a VM with windows 7 - i guess ill just do that. I have installed the drivers, the VM recognizes the phone (moto spyder adb...) but rsd wont see it, nor the adb driver installer (it needs to identify the device in order to install the proper drivers). I know that rsd is picky when it comes to usb cables, it might just not work with the original cable, but after trying 4 different cables i tend to think this is not the problem
P.S. I'm very upset on Google about killing Motorola and being disrespectful with its own customers (i mean i would have been expecting to be the first to get Android updates, not to wait one year to be able to update from 2.3 and i couldnt imagine they will not roll out RAZR updates after 4.1.2) so my next phone will be a Nokia Lumia. The coolest one, like my StarTac, my V70, my V3, my RAZR...
You maybe successful with a Windows machine
Indeed i was. It was fast and sound, no problems at all flashing stock rom. Though the phone didn't actually charged when plugged in and displaying the M logo. I had to actually sacrifice a usb cable and charge the battery directly.
I have the same problem - I updated to the last snapshot, and did a wipe in safestrap - and got bricked.
Only difference is I can't flash nothing! and in AP Fastboot mode the computer doesn't recognize anything.
So I have a droid razr that has (Safestrap 3.73 with TWRP 2.7.0.0)
I flashed a custom rom onto it; a 4.4.4 version and it was working fine for a few days. The phone died overnight, and I charged it to full battery yesterday. After doing so it will no longer boot to the operating system.
The phone can boot to recovery, and the options can be fiddled with there, however I cannot get the phone to get past the blue logo with the spinning arrows. It will stay there indefinitely...
I do not have an external SD card for the phone, and my pc will not recognize the phone in spite of having the drivers for the phone installed before hand. I have tried to wipe/factory reset multiple times and yet it will always get stuck at the blue logo. The option for the stock rom is greyed out in the boot section, and I really need my phone to get some functionality back to it.
I do not have any other image for recovery installed on the phone, only the current rom and gapps are on the install section. I have wiped and tried to reflash but I always get the same result.
Where do I proceed from here? I am very confused and could use some help as to what to do to restore functionality... personally id prefer to go back to stock image but am having a hard time locating the us verizon factory image online, not that I can even get it onto the phone.
I recently obtained a Moto E2 from a friend a while ago, and was eager to charge it up and use it, but when I plugged the phone to a wall charger, it booted up as normal, or so I thought, until it rebooted, over and over again. When it's on the charger, the only thing it does is flash the (M) "powered by Android" logo. Iwent into the additional settings to try and wipe the cache/data, perform Recovery mode, and perform a factory reset, but none of it works; it just goes back to flashing the Motorola boot animation.
I've even tried to connect it to a computer to see if I could get into it that way, but no dice. And unplugging the phone from the charging source will result in the phone shutting off immediately. It holds no charge. At all.
Is this phone saveable, or is it for skipping along the Detroit River?
I wouldn't use it to skip rocks on the Detroit River just yet. If you can see a boot animation, the phone can be recovered (your data and stuff will be lost though.)
Have you tried flashing TWRP via Recovery Mode with ADB? Basically, in layman's terms, have you tried entering Recovery, installing USB drivers, plugging it in your PC and then opening a terminal/Command prompt to "flash" TWRP? (With this method, you'll feel like a hacker! But it's not really hacking, it's just typing a few words to put something in a phone )
I can help you in order to breath new life in this phone.
Let me know! ^_^
What he said ^^ If you're phone is booting into BL or Recovery, majority of cases, can be salvaged...
