All of those are safe to remove, however you may break Motorola Assist and Motorola Touchless Control by uninstalling Motorola Contextual services if those things are important to you. Also always since you have a custom recovery installed make a backup in recovery before you go uninstalling anything that way if anything goes wrong or you want to restore things to the way they were originally you easily can.

Clean Master's app manager will show a list of apps that can be disabled. Try removing those (but not the Contact Sync, Calendar Storage and stuff)

Debloating CM10.1 ROM

guys did anyone remove any of these apps and knows that they are safe to remove 100%. I am on an unofficial build of cm10.1 rom?
Cell Broadcasts
com.android.backuconfirm
com.android.sharedstoragebackup
com.google.android.voicesearch
com.android.smspush
Google Backup Transport
Google Partner Setup
Nfc Service
Service Mode 1.0
Im debloating my rom further just want to see if its safe to remove these (no fc or any other problems) (uninstall via titanium backup pro), Im not really sure what they are or what they do but they keep running in background. Thanks
I remove NFC service and voice search (amongst others), Iirc, I used to remove backup transport and partner set up with no probs on cm7, not tried the latter on 10.

so now on cm10.1 you only remove nfc service and voice search?
btw removing nfc service will make nfc not work completely?
Do u know what each of these removal will affect exactly? what will not work? thanks
Is there somewhere a list where I can read all these stuff? I tried searching, found some lists but no explanation at all.
I remove between 25 and 30 system apks depending which rom I flash. I can't remember them without seeing them.
Check out slim, there's quite a few less.

Do you remove the system app:
com.android.smspush
Im not sure if its an actual visible application, I just see it in my task manager as always consuming about 12Mb ram
I like to freeze apps (not removing them, so that if anything goes wrong i can just unfreeze them)
-com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver (cell broadcasts)
-com.google.android.inputmethod.dictionarypack (dictionary provider) : i never use the dictionary, so i don't need it running 20mbs in the background!
-com.android.providers.userdictionary:
-com.android.email & com.android.exchange (i use gmail so i don't need stock email services)
-com.google.android.backup (backup transport): this app runs like 50mb in the background, ever since i am on custom roms i freeze it without any problems
-com.google.android.partnersetup
-google search
-launcher (i use novalauncher instead)
-picasa uploader
-search applications provider: i dont know its use but i freeze it without any problems
-sim toolkit
-com.android.talk (talk) : i dont use it, i dont need it running in the backgroun
-com.android.voicedialer
-com.google.android.syncadapters.bookmarks (bookmarks sync): i think it syncs the bookmarks in the stock browser, but i use chrome. so dont need it.
these are pretty much the processes that i freeze on every custom rom that i use (either cm10.1 or sammy based).
Some of the services are essential to some people (like talk or dictionary), so freezing them is up to personal preference.
I also use the greenify app to hibernate processes such as maps or youtube that constantly run in the background with no reason, even when you dont use them.
Freezing these apps saves me about 200mb of ram. So multitasking is a bit easier on this ram-troubled device.

Do you know anything about these in specific? They also run in background but I don't know their exact use.

com.android.smspush: i don't know what it does, but reading its name i think it has something to do with receiving sms (push, as in push notification and sms). I am not sure about that, and i haven't tried freezing to so i cant tell you for sure.
network location: it is the service that runs in order that apps can find your location using the network. for example when you check in on facebook. It finds your approximate location without gps. If you turn gps on, then you get an accurate location. Havent frozen it as i use apps with location services (such as yellow pages apps, airport apps and stuff that need to know my location).
google one time init: don't know what it does, i've frozen it (didn't see it before, so i forgot to mention it in the previous post)
google acount manager: very important. it handles your username and password to log in in google services such as the play store, the contacts sync etc. if you freeze it you can't open the play store app (for example).
package access helper: i am not sure about it. I've searched a lot on google but didn't find a definitive answer. I've read that it has to do with installing/uninstalling apps. I've tried once to freeze it but i got some force closes. So, leave it intact.

Completely remove gapps

Hi, I'm new here!
Today I made some improvements to my phone: GT-S5570i (Gingerbread 2.3.6, original rom): I removed all Gapps and my phone now is very fast, compared to the past (since is rooted I also disabled useless apps at startup using Startup Manager); the average amount of free RAM, now is between 150 and 130 MB, and since I have installed all my apps on the ext sd card, I have a free space (on the internal storage) of 100MB.
Well, as I've said, I removed all Gapps, because I install/update apps using MoboRobo on my computer, and I don't also need to manage my Gmail account from the phone. I'm okay without Gapps. But inside MoboRobo, in the "System Apps" window I can see that some reference to Google is still present:
Google Partner Setup, Google Services Framework and Google Backup Transport.
From what I can understand, the latter - Google Backup Transport - should be needed for phone backup reasons (but, again: I do backups of my phone using MoboRobo); and the other two services? I noticed that if i kill the Google Services Framework and then I turn on the GPS (using GPS Essentials) the service will start again, maybe because, as I noticed, GPS Essentials relies on G-Maps? But I also uninstalled G-Maps! Is the same if i disable this service using Startup Manager: at the next boot, Google Services Framework is still present in the processes list.
Can I uninstall these three remaining services from my phone, or I risk to break some features? As I've said I'm okay without Google apps/features on my phone.
Thank you.

Hi Paget96,
Thank you very much for your precise and synthetic reply
I apologize for being stickler, but I am very scrupulous: the three mentioned G-Services, for which reason are present on the phone, exactly? Just for the G-apps? There's someone else which has totally eradicated Google from the phone?
Kind regards.

2016 LG V10 (VS990) Bloatware Removal List

I am NOT responsible for you destroying or messing up your device during bloatware removal.
Here is the official bloatware removal list that you can rely on to get rid of unwanted apps:
Regular Bloatware:
Audible
Slacker Radio
Verizon Location Agent (Significant Battery Life Killer)
VZ Messages
Caller Name ID
VZ Support and Protection
VZ NFL Mobile
VZ Cloud
Amazon Kindle (Unremovable/Does Not Remove)
Amazon Music (Optional/Not Really Needed to Be Removed)
Amazon (Optional/Not Really Needed to Be Removed)
Amazon Shopping (Optional/Not Really Needed to Be Removed)
Removable Without Root Bloatware:
MapQuest
If there is any more bloatware, let me know and I will be happy to add them to the list.
I reccomend to use the System App Remover app, which allows you to restore apps that you remove from the system.
Notice: When using a root removal tool, after you uninstall a root app the app itself tends to indefinitely crash. The fix for this is simply restarting your device.
Don't forget
VZ Cloud
DT Ignite
All of the Amazon apps
(note I am not rooted but these are all on the disabled list which should also be removable but do so at your own risk)
recommended root removal app

This happened because you were most likely not running the latest version of Android when you rooted it and therefore it glitched it out.

I also tend to not just freeze but remove just about everything I don't find of value as well. I like it super clean, super smart, super efficient While it can be a little temperamental with a couple of apps, it smooths out after a reboot and clean up.
REALLY digging this lovely, just purchased device. I like to root and optimize from the get go! I look forward to exploring!

No Contacts

Hi Everyone.
I just purchased a Verizon LG V30 VS996 and I have been installing all of my apps and setting up phone.
Last night I removed a bunch of apps using ADB that I thought were not needed (im sure most were not), but I realized this morning I have no contacts in Google Contacts. I deleted the built in contacts app last night. I cant add any contacts, when I try to it says No App was found to handle this function.
Does anyone have the Stock contacts or dialer apk from LG so I can reinstall it and have access to all my contacts again.
I prefer not to factory reset and set everything up from scratch again.
Thanks,
Ben

So what have I accidentally uninstalled through ADB that may have caused my contacts to disappear and not be able to add any new contacts in ?
I have tried 3 contacts apps from Google Play and I have the same issue with them all.

No idea. You shouldn't delete things without knowing what they are. Contacts app is exactly that. A contacts app, plus dialer. Contacts aren't stored in any dialer.
Did you delete Contacts Storage? Any sync or cloud service apps? Any Google services?
Try a factory reset.

I believe I deleted something called cloud, but the icon was red leading me to believe it was Verizon bloat and not something necessary. Didn't delete anything Google and don't think any thing with the sync related.
If you had disabled it with package disabler, you could simply re-enable it. Deleting with ADB doesn't really accomplish anything. It doesn't give you more space to use. You only have access to the user partition to install/store data. Those apps removed via ADB are in the system partition.
So, disabling with package disabler or using ADB has the same effect for a non-rooted user -- EXCEPT when you need to add something back you messed up your phone by deleting... in that case, simply disabled wins every time as it's an easy fix.
I haven't disabled anything on my V30+ and my phone runs fast. But then I have the open market LG US998, which has no carrier bloatware.

I would like to have the Google Apps and I don't want the LG apps in my App Drawer.
If I disable those apps with package disabler then will they still be in my app drawer?
Will package disabler disable only the LG apps or the Verizon ones too ?
Thanks,
Ben

It's a package disable. It disables packages (ie apps). Have you never went into the settings and disabled an app before? Because that's what it does.

What @partylikeaninjastar said. The "package disabler" (app disabler) disables apps. The difference is it lets you also disable SYSTEM APPS which non-rooted users can't easily do. Carriers like Verizon often make their bloatware be "system" apps so they can't easily be disabled like user apps.
But the danger is there are essential or at least quite useful apps you should not disable. And they are NOT classified as "essential" or "useful". They are just all there. LGSetup Wizard controls Always on Display. It's not just for "setup". Stuff like that.
