hello, my name is shahrukh and i need some help. i downloaded animmod (from 4shared) and then i donwloaded busybox. then i pressed blur and then it asked me if i want to reboot it. i pressed yes. this is when the problem starts. It turned off and then it turned on half way and then it turned off. it kept doing that and then i just left it for the night. in the morning it was not doing anything. when i held the power button it turned off and on for like two times and then turned off. i cant even start it up so i have no idea what to do.
i don"t know what to do
please help!!!!
Okay, we need details, describe exactly when "halfway on" is. We need your full model number and rom version (if you know it). Have you tried plugging it in to charge? Does it show anything now that you try to boot it? try holding volume up and powering on to enter recovery menu.
details
ok so when it turns on it says samsung. then after like 10 seconds it turns off. it does that for a few times and then it just goes in a black screen. the model number is YP-G7OC/NAW. when i plug it in to charge it goes on and off two times and then off. if it has low battery it just shows the sign. as for the rom i don't think i have any. i just rooted it using superoneclick. if it goes to recovery mode what do i do?
thanks!
(you got me really fired up when i saw the recovery menu!)
If you can get to recovery menu, try a factory reset, and clear cache. I am not sure if there is a recovery rom for your device, you should check samfirmware.com
tried both of them...no luck. and i couldn't find a recovery rom on samfrimware.com.
Your device has capacitive or mechanical home button?
it has a capacitive home button...the usa version

The phone boots in recovery?
If so, I can investigate a little more what's happening.
I'll try to post a return-to-stock image soon... The problem is that mine is cluttered with crap that the zergRush exploit added (it insisted on installing busybox instead of just rooting...)
(I'm not sure, but I think someone else already posted a stock zImage and system image...)
Here is the post about fixing capacitive buttons. A quick search of forum should have found it.

nooooooo!!! you guys have all got it wrong. first of all it doesnt boot in recovery. the only way to get in recovery mode is when it shows the battery sign i hold "up volume"+ power button.and the capaciative button is completely fine. im just stuck in a bootloop (i think) and it has nothing to do with a broken capacitive button! i will try to post a video today to show you guys exactly whats happening.
i kind of had the same problem, one time i thought i had entropy's kernel on and i had CWM well i didn't but i still thought i had so i tried rebooting into recovery using the terminal:
su
reboot recovery
then i turned off and went to this weird recovery menu it had four options, reboot system, apply update from SD card, wipe data partition, and power off and it had a ton of red letters and words saying like, couldn't access data partition or cache partition and couldn't access /data/media, or system, and then i just turned it off because i wouldn't let me choose an option, and then i got stuck in a loop but not during when it says SAMSUNG mine happened during the animation music part that look like fireworks and then SAMSUNG would light up blue then go through it again and 2 more times then go black and i tried flashing the US stock ROM in download mode but still would go through the loop and it doesn't even charge so i got nothing
so did you somehow fix yours? and i never got a recovery menu that showed something about shut down.:confused
Before brick
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
wait....are you asking me those questions? just to tell you im no developer or something. im just a 12 year old who has his galaxy player stuck in a boot loop. you have to make another thread if you have a problem.
sorry!
Ok. : ) You got it wrong. No problem. His case is different from mine. Just wanted to use her Brick in case. Nothing more. good luck.
I resolve my doubts alone. Nothing that Google does not respond. haha
At least before brick.
ok. let me ask google too xD
anyways..anyone have any idea of how to fix this boot loop?
im trying to do the Linux thing by running the ressurector ans the VM windows the forum is posted under development called hard brick recovery for galaxy 5.0
ok.(i have no idea what you are saying...just saying!)
my phone originally started out with the stock 2.1update 1 firmware, t959ujfd...
when i turn on (off then on) the phone it would boot to a "Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000" logo, then switch to a "Vibrant Samsung" logo.
when i received my phone this was how it booted..
Later, i rooted the phone, and flashed clockwork mod recovery.. I made a CWM recovery back up here..
After creating the backup, i put CM10 on to the internal sdcard and installed it via CWM. During the
installation, it rebooted into the newer version of CWM recovery. After choosing "reboot device", my vibrant
would first load the "Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000" logo, then the Cyanogen mod logo. but then the screen would
flash, and the cyanogen mod logo would appear again. Shortly it dumps me right back at the new version of CWM recovery..
At this point, i thought i flashed CM 10 incorrectly, so from the CMW recovery, i restored that first back up. after restoring that
back up, my phone no longer boots.. Right now if i leave the batter in and plug in a USB, the circular spinny charging icon appears,
then freezes (it doesnt spin).. i can turn on the phone, but it stays stuck at the "Galaxy S GT-I9000" logo.. I cant boot into recovery.
so i read a bunch of other threads about perhaps when ibought the phone, it had a GB bootloader. and i have tried ways to get my vibrant
into download mode.. which unfortunately i havent.. So i can't use Odin and flash back to stock.. Hopefully you guys can help me get back to stock so i can at least use my phone and/or start over installing CM10..
Note: i did not install/flash anything else other than CM10. i did not use custom kernels, or install Google Apps etc..
Edit: Ok, now i can reliably get into download mode. for some reason, the physical button combinations were wrong for my vibrant.. instead of the
usual 3 button combo, my download mode was volume up + power.. this was also the reason why i had a hard time getting into recovery since it was
volume down + power.. It seems as if, my boot loader was changed when i bought the phone..
That's the combo I use I don't have boot loaders. Son if that worked did you get it fixed with Odin or heimdall

All you had to do is flash cm10 again. Most of the times you have to flash jb roms more than once because of the different cwm versions . Make sure you read the entire thread before taking action, I'm sure it said that somewhere but anyway Gb bootloaders are much more convenient so that's a plus. Just flash back to stock with Odin or if you still want cm10 then boot into recovery and flash again.

Hi
So I've had my Samsung SIII for just over 18 months, and it's all worked fine etc. I've never rooted it or anything.
But this morning it will not boot up. When I try to switch it on the start up sequence happens, but it gets stuck on the flashing Samsung splash screen. If I turn it off it just restarts and ends up back on that screen. The only way to stop it is to take the battery out.
I've tried starting it in recovery mode (power+home button+vol up), but the standing, open android just flashes and I end up with the android lay down with the red exclamation mark from there. It then loops between the two androids and the Samsung SIII start up logo screen. I have tried to press the volume buttons whilst on the red exclamation mark screen but cannot get to anywhere from it.
However, it will load the download mode (power+home button+ vol down) just fine.
I have looked all over but most people encountering anything similar have rooted their devices, which I have not.
Also, last week I lost all of my contacts which were stored on the device (I don't know why) but that might have something to do with it.
I don't particularly want to hard reset the phone and lose everything, but if it's the only solution I will do.
Thanks.
In download mode is the product number shown or a blank?
If it shows i9300 then you have a good chance of flashing either a full stock rom or a rescue firmware (see general forum) using odin. You will need to factory reset in recovery afterward, but your data is almost certainly unrecoverable.
If the product number is blank then you have partial SDS and require a new motherboard.

Do has boomboomer said above but as a last resort before flashing back to stock or a rescue firmware if you flash PhilZ recovery in download mode with odin. You then have a Aroma option in PhilZ recovery to browse and copy phone files so you may be able to recover some data pictures etc.
Please read PhilZ thread >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860 << and the special features thread about Aroma file manager in post #3
Please note use as a last resort to get your data back! and read everything! Also all this is presuming you can get into PhilZ recovery after flashing..
I'm having the same problem , been looking through lots of topics. When I switch on the phone it's not booting android guy lays on his back. Download mode and Android Recovery are in my range.
I've been trying to flash stock-firmware from sammobile.com with ODIN but no effect , I mean It all went OK in Odin Operation list than fially phone reset and PASS. But this android guy is still laying on his back and making fun of me xD
Before trying to get back to stock ROM, I've had rooted phone and installed RR with 4.4.2 for S3, now I don't have a clue what shall I do next ...
Any ideas ? (the noob[me] have asked )

hello every one i have another gs3 with another boot loop issue. so on first sight the phone looks good. it will turn on and show the screen saying "samsung galaxy sIII" but after that it goes black and 3 seconds later it vibrates then another 3 seconds and it vibrates again and then 3 more seconds and the boot screen is back displaying "samsung galaxy sIII". it will not boot in to recovery mode, however i can get to odin mode or download mode. it has never bin rooted, and it has stock rom, but i did try rooting it throu odin mode and it failed multiple times as well as the phone would display "unsupported format"? i have seen this before and it ended up being a power button and well i tried replacing that with no effect. i also noticed that when you do try booting the phone into recovery mode it will say "recoverybooting" in blue letters at the top left hand corner but just keeps boot looping, i need to recover the data on the phone since i was going to back it up but could not do it in time lmao!!!! any help or suggestions would be appreciated, i have bin at this for days now and my chances are looking dim :crying:

Quote "Samsung galaxy s3 t999 boot loop need help please" I gave you help to the right forum this is 19300 forum follow the link Or am I missing something?
Hello,
I have a S3 which is stuck in a bootloop at the samsung logo.
when i turn it on it shows the logo for some seconds then the screen goes black and the logo re-appears.
i can not boot into recovery mode, but download mode is working without a problem every time.
i tried flashing stock firmwares with odin and also tried kies emergency firmware recovery. the flashing always went without any problem, but it had effect. whatever i try, i am never able to boot into recovery and still stuck in the bootloop.
in some tries after flashing the screen just shows the samsung logo forever, but after rebooting it once it then is stuck in a bootloop again (shows the logo - screen goes black - shows the logo...)
i also tried flashing TWRP and CWM via odin, but again i can never boot into recovery mode.
what should i try next?
thx alot for any helpful comment

You can Try this:
1.) Pull out battery
2.) Put it in again
3.) Press Vol up + home + power
4.) When the Samsung Logo appears let it off
I think you press the Buttons too long.
I had the same problem!

i really tried everything, it's not working. btw with i am stuck at the very first image, where it says "samsung Galaxy sII GT-I9300".
i dont think it's just the way i press the buttons because i can reach it on my s1 and s2 without a problem, it's just not working on this device.
could some setting like "nand erase all" in odin help? in other threads there is sometimes mentioned that the internal file system might be screwed up and in those cases a simple odin reflash does not help anymore...
Nand erase will usually hard brick it. Try the rescue firmware from general forum, sticky thread. Follow the guide exactly as it includes a pit file.

thx, but i already did that (multiple times) and flashing via odin always succeeds. then the phone reboots and is stuck at the first samsung galaxy s.. screen. twice i managed somehow to get into recovery (after flashing cwm6) but it then randomly rebooted.
and i dont think that the power button is stuck because when i am in download mode it is perfectly fine it never reboots itself unexpectedly.
Had a similar issue on my tab2 p3100. It all happened when I tried flashing a custom recovery from rom manager.
A bad flash of anything related to recovery or bootloader could be a probable cause.
I remember a knowledge share on one of the threads describing this issue and as mentioned on it all I had to do is this:
1) switch off the device and plug in the charger. This would light up the display showing you the charging status. The status has to show if at least your bootloader part of the phone is fine.
2) plug out the charger and immediately press the three buttons (home + vol up + power) get into recovery mode. This step has to work and help you get to recovery mode.
***Note : the interval within which this step has to be performed is too short since the display would turn off immediately as soon as you plug out the charger. A bit tricky too so you have to be fast. If this misses getting you into recovery, pull out the battery and put it back again. Repeat step1 and 2 again.
3) upon successfully getting into recovery, perform wipe data, cache and select reboot phone from option available on recovery again.
Allow the device to boot. This could take a while since you have performed a data wipe and may prompt for first time set up.
I was able to restore functionality on my tab after these steps and like ppl learn from their mistakes, I then learnt that recoveries and bootloaders are things that needs to be done with a pc only.
Worth a try if you have tried other alternatives and found no go. may help. Who knows..
all the best.
thats also not working. i tried to get into recovery since two days now...
i also tried the steps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/solved-pit-bricked-dead-problem-gt-t2535367
but again, after i flash the cf-root (successfully) the phone does neither boot into recovery by itself nor can i do it by hand...
its crazy... in download mode i can see the model number (GT-I9300) and i thought as long as the model number is there and i can enter download mode there should be a way to recover the device.
but i cannot think of anything to try that i have not done yet
If the rescue firmware didn't help then it looks like the emmc chip is damaged.

is there a way to make certain of this? how can i tell if it is really a hardware damage and not just a software brick?
i just dont want to let the phone go, it looks still so shiny
is there anything else that could cause the phone not booting into recovery mode after flashing custom recoveries?

Same here, still didn't found how to fix it.. I guess our motherboard just died..
Howewer I have a solution that "almost" worked for me.
Get a stock firmware in odin and turn on Nand erase and T-flash
When it's done phone reboots and you'll see just "Downloading..." mode when you turn it on.
Then got to Kies and Select firmware recovery...
Enter s/n and model name and wait for the flash to complete.
With it , I got past boot logo and actually booted into android but the phone crashed because I guess I have a memory issue..
Well , gl. If you don't find anything else helpful , try going with this method..
