So... I just accidentally discovered this AWESOME feature. On the otterbox belt clip, if you pull the actual clip out as far as it will go(opening it as if you have a REALLY thick belt), a little clip on top will latch the clip open acting as a kickstand. Works PERFECTLY for me!

NOW I need to get the otterbox the salesman was whining about this morning.... From amazon

I got my Otterbox Defender for free. The Sprint Store Manager was trying to sell accessories. The store was having a like accessories sale or something and then when my family and I were getting our phones he came over and offered 3 BT Headsets, and 3 cases for 43 dollars.
My parents aren't the sharpest when it comes to phones so I started haggling with the guy. Swapped out the three BTs for an otterbox and a screen protector and the manager gave it to us for free.
Highlight of my day besides graduating High School lol.
Grats on the case, now go to college. |0_0|

Best buy actually had a lot of different holsters for the 3d. You should definitely give them a try before ebay.

Ya I miss a hard case and holster the leather cases are nice but don't off much protection against the daily use I like keepin my baby clean and shiny
The holsters I speak of were all plastic or plastic/rubber with belt clips. Not the cheap leather cases I hate. They had the defender, and I think the other brand was platinum or something that looked very strong and similiar to the Otterbox cases. They also had the case with the kickstand thats been posted everywhere. I think they had 1 or 2 others as well. I was actually pretty amazed at all the cases they had.
Thanks! Would've never noticed that!

As the evo 3d is an old phone, I bought the otterbox defender for under £3 delivered but it adds too much bulk and weight, so i ordered the otterbox commuter under £3 again and it is much lighter the phone weighs 200g now, not certain what it weighed with the defender, I also got a 10 pack of screen protectors for £1.25 as i am crap at putting them on, or i just hate it when i get dust underneath, but i manged 1st time and it looks great, nice an slick to the touch.
John.
im getting the s2 today and was wondering what case to get? does the cancellation mic matter if im on CM7? i dont care if i hav to cut a hole in the case. i would get the otterbox but idk what it'll do to the mic

+1 - CaseMate POP case and a Moshi iVisor (They better be careful. I think Apple owns a copyright on any word starting with a lower-case "i", and they seem to be a little sue-happy recently). Same setup I had on my Samsung Infuse. The only thing I didn't like about that case was the lack of a kickstand, and this one's got it. Perfect!
The only thing I don't like about the pop case is it seems to only come in white/grey, otherwise love the case.
Asking what case to get is like asking what kind of car you should get. It's very much personal taste, hehe.
With that said, I was in Asia last week and came back with about 20 different designs. The one I favor is a 0.2mm case (just ebay it there are tons)... they're only a couple bucks, and they provide scratch\scuff protection, and are the ultimate in thinness. They don't provide very good grip though.
The Ringke silicon case is alright, I have one in red which looks nice, but it's not ideal for me because with any silicon case I find the sides are not as tight fitting to the phone as I like (problem with ANY silicon case, most people are fine with it but I'm a bit OCD).
There is a TPU case I bought on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005OTAUG6
And thus far this TPU case has been my absolute favorite of all the 10 or so cases I have. It's got the right amount of grip, but isn't sticky removing from pocket like a silicon is, and it's absolutely tight-fitting and has the ATT mic cutouts, and the color is cool. Not super crazy about the argyle back, but the color is nice, so it works.
But again, personal taste is a lot of it. If you order from somewhere like Amazon if you don't like the case you can return it without hassle.
#10 on this list

I just received my Acase from Amazon today. I have to say it's pretty nice. It's a silicon case, but with a hard case on top of it. It adds a bit of bulk, but it is definitely fully protected. It's as thick as my current gen iPod classic now. Not too great, but not too bad for $10.
I got a reply back today from otterbox. I asked if they planned on making a case for the note. They said they're working on the otterbox commuter case for the note as we speak and should be available soon. Thought I would post just in case anyone was interested.

I had an Otterbox case for my Streak, and loved it, but I have to say that I am shocked at the quality of this generic case I got on ebay for like $8! Head over to the accessories forum and you'll see some pretty happy campers who spent less than $10 for a case...
Sent from my SGH-I717R using Tapatalk
I have used Otterbox cases in the past but the last time i checked they were listing the case for the G Note at 56$ Um they can kiss my business g buy. I got a very good Reiko case from a seller on ebay for 8.88$ delivered The Reiko case is everybit as good as a defender from over priced otter! I tend to be from the school "ya get what ya pay for" but the Reiko case even has a kickstand, flap covers that cover charging an earphone ports.
I had bought one of those off brand cases for my ns4g on amazon. It came with a stylus and like 3 screen protectors for 10$! They're are some good deals out there so I agree. I seen that reiko with the kickstand think I seen a red/black one. I might have to get it. I bought the flipbook (hated it before I took a chance) I was surprised tho. Note looks sexy just doesn't offer much protection in case of a drop
G~Note "nuff said"
Otter says on their site that they sell their own products higher on their site then what their resellers sell for b/c they would rather you buy through them but won't refuse money. So the price quoted is always higher then what is available once they start shipping. I bought a commuter for my Vibrant and loved it. I did break it eventually and that happened by removing it so many times. I just wish I could get the Defender for this thing. I may have to look at some of the knock offs out there for such a dramatically lower priced case. I still just want a nice (brown) leather belt clip holster since leaving the tie off is considered a casual day at work for me.
Otter box return policy
Even tho theirs prices are little higher than the norm, the have excellent warranty policy and will pretty much ship you a complete new case if need be, providing you date and name the pictures. I've received a couple through this process (All defenders cases), ex complete case (SGN), replaced several holsters (Iphone, Backberry, Nexus S)

I've had an Otterbox on every device I've had so far (iPad & iPhone). They really make some great cases (a bit costly but worth every cent). I can't wait until I can get one for the Note.
I love otterbox too, however, I needed something right away. I'm a bit to clumsy to gamble on a $750 device. I ordered an "active" case from Seidio, they are similar to otterbox except no screen protector (I use zagg anyway). One thing I like about Sedio products over otter is the options. It's a three layer case with the first layer having the capability to be a simple standard case. Check them out if you don't feel like waiting.

I've used their case with holster for my charge, the belt clip has held up very well. I was mistaken on my first post. I thought this was the equivalent of the defender series. After looking at it again, I see that it is more like the commuter series from otter box but with a holster. Still a great case/holster combo in my opinion. I can't post a link yet, but check out the online store at seidio.com.

The dude at the ATT store told me Otterboxes were "bulky pieces of crap".
Then he proceeded to try to sell me a Speck case for FIFTY BUCKS.
I had to pass I too am looking forward to a commuter case.
Moved to Accessories
As this is a post about accessories it should be in that section
I have received confirmation from my otterbox rep that cases are in the works
I've received my case from Seidio, and I like that it doesn't make it that much thicker. On a phone this size, any bulkiness may be a bit to much. I'm also glad to hear that otter is working on one as well. I have a gift card for them and would like to compare cases.
Either way, the active case from Seidio is what I expected. I also cut my own custom screen protector from a HD Zagg designed for the kindle fire. I think the stylus works better with the HD version then their standard protector.

I would disagree with you but, I have Defender and it's out of the belt clip 99.999999% of the time!
I have a Seidio case at the moment. But after a few months of use, the rubber inner skin is starting to stretch, causing it to seem loose in areas. (Driving me crazy)
I have been eyeing this Trident case:

Someone here did a review and it seem solid, just not for me. Can't remember the reason. Likely because I already had OtterBox Defender?
I have a Seidio Active and love it. Easy to remove and put back on, has access to kickstand, and not as bulky as some other cases but offers good protection.
All boils down to personal preference.
I have the Seidio convert case with a flygrip on it. It does add some bulk and you can't use the kickstand with it unless you take off the two outer layers. The protection is great though, covers over everything including the camera. The holster works nicely and has been secure so far. If you don't mind the bulk and like protection from drops and dust its the best case IMO. Get the flygrip if you want a kickstand and more, you won't regret it.

Otterbox commuter here, and I love it. Yeah it adds more thickness, but now when I drop my my phone all I think is"oh well, my phone is a tank." Lol plus whenever you do decide to take it off it makes you feel like you have a small phone

I just ordered a seidio surface and an Amzer silicon skin from amazon, $30 for both... I'll let you know what I think of them once i get em
Next Case
I have the Otterbox Defender as well and really love it. I have to admit though a friend of mine just bought a Trident for their Samsung Epic and it was totally hot! It might be a great ... next case
I have been using the Incipio Silicrylic case for a while now. It seems to offer enough protection without adding too much bulk. The only thing I have against it is that the silicone skin is just thick enough to prevent the phone from seating completely on the connectors on the car dock. Fortunately, the shell and skin are easy and quick to remove.
i use the otterbox defender and mounted the belt clip to my forklift at work and mounted a speaker and now i jam all day at work plus i can take calls lol

also. customer service rocks at otterbox. i got into my girlfriends car and hit the belt holster on the side and the belt clip broke.. i called them and they sent a whole new case to me.

Does anyone have a case they can recommend with a kickstand? I'd prefer a silicon, not a very large otterbox, and saw one on eBay. It's only $9 so it isn't much of a gamble, but I thought I'd see what others suggested first.
This is what I'm looking at (are eBay links allowed? I'm not the seller of this item)
I have that exact case and it is rather large. I do like the protection it gives it but it made it kinda difficult to reach the top corner of the screen while using it one handed.

Are you trying to keep the phone slim or do you care if it is bigger?
I use the mugen 4000 mh battery and back, the the cut =out silicon case by tpc. Works great!
That case is huge. My sister in law has it. Its on par with the otterbox deffender. I have the trident kraken ($27) on eBay. It's just as bulky or maybe a bit more but I love the darn thing. And the kickstand on this case is probably the most solid one of the ones I have used.
The only slim case with a kickstand I have seen was from HTC and seems to be discontinued or something because no one has it anymore. Must have been a short production run.
