Hello everyone
I just wanted to share that I have been looking for a new phone since March this year and after looking at the latest and greatest around, I am still really happy with my Samsung Galaxy S3 even though I have owned it for a personal record of 20 months.
I've seriously looked at the Sammy 5, LG G3 and the HTC One M8 but none seem to excite me enough to justify buying a new model and with the great ROM development going on here I think that I can still take advantages of the latest developments.
Just wanted to post a positive no gripes thought on here for a change??
What thoughts are others having, assuming that finance is not a major constraint?

Hey guys, I have a good friend that has an amazing offer for me. He is able to get phones for nothing basically and I was curious if you guys could help me out.
I don't like to leech with comments like these, but this is my first leech XD.
I am rooting phones for him and I have done like 10 different ones so far, and he has offered me any phone I want...I love my inspire, but it is already being outdated by the tegra 2's and the tegra 3's coming soon.
Basically, should I go for the Samsung Galaxy SII or wait for the nexus prime? I know there isnt much information on the prime, but it is probably going to be announced at Samsungs event next week. I know someone will be like, "oh just get both", but that is rude to my friend.

wait for the nexus i say...once that is out over here in the UK im selling my Galaxy
hello guys, at the moment i own an apple iphone 4 jailbroken, and i had some issues with the device's hardware since 2 years ago, so im thinking of selling it and get a new phone, BUT i DONT want to go at apple again, so 4S is not an option for me.
i searched a bit and im interested into Samsung Galaxy S III
about its hardware is a top end phone atm, but im a bit feared about the Android os because ive heard some bad things from friends users of lower end android phones. so im refering at you guys who own and use SGS3 with normal and rooted os to advice me about its stability over time and usage on apps
So my final question is, SGS3 with Android 4.0.4 ICS stock or rooted, did you have any problems with it? laggs on menus/apps over time of usage or crashes or reboots etc?
Cause with iphone 4 and ios jailbroken i had it for 2 years and i never encountered a single error or crash and never had to format it to stock firmware due to problem except when i was updating versions of ios.
thank you for your time guys
i look forward your replys to talk about it and find a conclusion

Well if you're looking to go the android route, congratulations as you have found the right place. The S3 is the best android device right now, best performer, very smooth device. Just get it there's millions of reason why you should do so search on the forum. Also read this article from the verge, a guy that switched from an iPhone to android :
http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/13/3082261/29-days-with-android
The thing about Android is you can make it do just about anything you want. So if it's not doing or looking the way you want post and someone can direct you in the right direction.
There really aren't any bugs with Android itself. Typically all the bugs come from the third party software; SGS TouchWiz, HTC Sense UI, etc. But, with the software more advanced and Android being out for quite some years, Samsung and HTC have fixed multiple problems with their UI's. They maybe have a handful of bugs, if that. And a device of this caliber is not going to have any problems, IMO.
I promise if you decide to buy an Android device, you will not be disappointed. Those that usually are usually buy the low end phones and expect high end performance; it just does not work that way.
High end phone = high end performance and a happy you
The SGS3 is very stable, and it can be rooted without problems pretty easily. It's the best Android phone I've ever used.
thank you all for your replys guys, its good to hear all those good words about SIII and android cause for some reasons im sick of apple and i dont want to buy their product again, (ex my iphone gave me 3 problems of faulty hardware right after it passed the 1 year warranty, the home button stopped working, i fixed it, after 1 month the power button stopped working, i fixed it, and now when the phone gets hot some yellow spots appear on the supposively best mobile screen "retina"..... and im really angry towards apple cause of these because that phone costed me 830 euros, plus the parts i bought to replace the broken flexes of the buttons, and thats because im electronic technician and i replaced them myself, else i would have spent a ton of money on their service to fix it up)
summary, ill do some research on your forums guys about S3 etc, but definitely in 1 or maybe 2 weeks ill buy S3
thank you again for everything
Based on having used iOS5 and Android, I can guarantee you that rooted Android Gingerbread, rooted on a Samsung GS Vibrant is way more stable, jailbroken and not.
glad to hear that thanx a lot
Believe me there are little if no bugs, its super snooth and well worth the upgrade plus you can use an app to transfer music from itunes
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I had a jailbroken iPhone 4 before I bought the Galaxy S3. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Love Android and doubt I will go back to iOS. I would highly recommend the Galaxy S3
Traded my iphone 4 32gb jailbroken / unlocked using SAM and hoped they woudn't notice it and got good trade value. Bought SIII and was trying to sell my other android phone LG Optimus 3D to get 4S but when i started using SIII and saw what 4S is, now i dont want to go back to iOS till maybe the OS becomes fully customizable and not as freaking hard to transfer files/upgrade to new os/ install 3rd party software / not to lose sms/contacts when upgrading and tons more headaches 've had with iphones over last 2 years. Which means probably never
Hi everyone. I posted earlier in this forum about getting a Nexus 4 and everyone said I should and I was going to order it but then I changed my mind. I don't understand my mentality on this and I hate that I have it but I always want the latest and greatest. I mean it is kind of everyone's mentality but I'm just saying. So I stumbled upon the Oppo Find 5 and I really liked it and for the price it was great for an unlocked handset with those hardware specs. I just feel that there is going to be another flagship phone from Oppo in the coming months considering they did great with the Find 5. Does anybody know about any rumors of a new handset from Oppo? I am also considering getting the Note 3 when it comes out unlocked so if anybody has any rumors on that then please let me know. Also I might even get the next nexus if it compares to the high end smartphones out there and if it comes at a reasonable price unlocked. Thank You.
Check this out; Oppo Find 7.

Oh wow I did not hear about this haha Thanks man. I also thanked your profile. Now I am very excited about this phone lol. I am going to get a phone in November because I am 15 years old and sadly I do not have a steady income haha but I will soon make enough money to buy this phone once it comes out. Thank You. Also do you have any details about any other phones or links to articles? Hopefully this will cost in the same price range as the Oppo Find 7. I would really prefer a Nexus handheld because it is very easy to root and install ROMS and other hacks and it is supported heavily by the community. But looking at this phone and the Oppo Find 5 I will have to change my mind. Do you think that once this phone comes out, the XDA Developers forum will support this handheld as in alot of people will be there to help with problems with rooting and do you think that this phone will have plenty of ROMS available for it because personally I do not like their custom UI that they have set and I would rather have Cyangemod or XenonHD or AOKP ROM on it. And to the other comment, I am in no hurry of needing another smartphone right now and Note 2 just seems old to me.
No I don't have any other links to other smartphones. I just Googled the Oppo Find 7 because I remembered reading something about it a few days ago.
Side note: I just bought a 16GB Nexus 4 (used on Swappa) and am very happy with it. I was considering buying the iOcean x7, but decided on the Nexus 4 because of the developer support. If custom ROM's, themeing and things like that are important to you, I highly suggest the Nexus 4.

I mean I would be alright with the Nexus 4 but I feel as if it is too close to the time of a new nexus being released and I don't want to buy a Nexus 4 right now and figure that there will be a better one in the coming months whihc is going to happen. Thank you for your support though. I am kind of into the custom ROMS and stuff but not that heavily. I am getting into Android programming though but that has nothing to do with the device. And also I had one more question. If I buy a locked phone off of Amazon, lets say the Galaxy S4, and I get it for $200, do I have to fill out my contract details on Amazon or is that done through activation of the phone?
Hello all I just joined the forum, glad to be a paid member considering how much i owe the developers and commentators for their hard work saving my phone (GS2) which has died now twice but as of the 3rd December was recovered running Supernexus (build 5).
My question relates to the Note3 vs the GS4.
I am personally tired with samsungs BS over TW, and now running supernexus on my GS2 I much prefer the nexus pure android feel and never wish to return to TW.... EVER...
As my GS2 approaches the end of its service life I have begun looking at new options, the GS4 (google edition) and the Note3 for its sheer awesomeness and screen size.
However I want the biggest screen size i can get which is why i look to the note3 over the gs4.
As i have seen if i were to buy the gs4 from a well known online retailer i could then flash the genuine google edition rom onto it? saving 200 pounds compared to buying it from the US?
What i would like to know, is this; if in the near future is someone looking to create a supernexus rom for the note3, if so I will wait for that... my GS2 is still going strong and personally I would prefer a "Phoneblocks" phone as Im not into throwing things until they give up completely.
Note3 vs GS4 (GE) your comments and experience, GO;
Hi, I currently have the galaxy note 3, and my contract is up right now.
I have only owned and loved the galaxy notes since the original, and was very excited about the note 5.... Until it was announced, and am now feeling very underwhelmed by it. Then there was all the talk of the lg g4 pro (again very excited by all the hype), which turned out to be this phone, the lg v10.
My question is, having never owned an LG phone before, should I get this phone?
I love the look of it, but am a bit concerned over the sd808, and overall it looks like an oversized g4 from the specs.
My mobile contract will be 24 months.
Do I hang on and see what happens in 2016, or jump in and get what seems to be a really decent phone (when it is released in the uk).
What are LG like when it comes to software updates compared with Samsung?
Having watched all the vids on YouTube, does anyone know what it's like after a few days use when the hype has worn down a bit? I've looked and only found 1 on YouTube.
Thanks in advance for your opinions
Dave
In 2016 you are going to ask your self the same question on a newer device than this. Technology just moves so fast, so next year something new will come along and you will be just as confused. Just buy it if you like it..
Only had an G2 in the past, but back then LG were decent on software updates. No way quicker or slower than other makers. Personally i Root and flash custom root so im updated before LG pushes out their own ROMs.
Go for it.. try it.. Like it? Buy it.
I personally sit and watch the reviews and words on the street (XDA) if it is good or not. Usually donĀ“t buy first batch phones as they are the ones coming with errors.

Honestly, if your main concern over the 808 is not having a top antutu benchmark, then you should wait for 2016. The 808 has plenty of horsepower to make the G4 and V10 fly, so if its user experience you are more concerned with, I say make the leap!
