Hi Guys!
I've just rooted my LG P710, its version is 10j.
Now I'd like to delete some system app and their datas to free up my internal memory... I think I should use Root Explorer for this, isn't it?
-Stock Browser
-Google Play Books
-Google Play Magazines
-Google Play Movies
-Google Play Music
-Google+
-Hangouts
-LG Home (to be replaced with Nova Launcher )
-LG's four themes
-LG Weather (Its widget doesn't run on Nova Launcher)
These are the apps I'd like to delete... can I?
Thanks for answers and sorry for bad english

Root explorer is more suitable for deleting files, not apps. For apps you can use Root App Delete. Been using it for a long time and I like it very much.
Edit: Just to add, if you're looking for a good file manager, I'd definitely recommend X-Plore.
Good luck.
Thanks for your answer, Digdis... I'll try Root App Delete but, can I use also Root Explorer?
Can I delete all those system apps?
Thanks

You also can use Root Explorer to delete system apps, just make sure you only delte apps which are possible to delete and won't affect your system stability or functionality.
Make sure you delete the .odex and the .apk app in the system folder.
Here is another thread with helpful advice which apps are possible to delete:

Hope this helps

Wow, that's amazing! This is what I was looking for! Thank you!
Just one little thing man... Before to delete these apps I'd like to do a backup...
So when I go to my ClockWork recovery and choose "Backup", I have:
Backup of boot image completed.
Backup of recovery image completed.
Backing up system...
Error while making a backup of /system!
Why do I get this error?
-----------------------------------------
I guess it's an external memory's space problem... I have about 500MB free... but I'm very unlucky today.. still another problem...
I just want to put my backup in my own PC to free up memory on my device... but, if I'll have problems, I won't be able to put it again on my device because in recovery mode my PC doens't recognize my phone while I do "Mount SDCard"
Any solutions?

You can't perform the backup directly to your PC (if I understood what you wanted correctly) - you need an SD card that can hold the entire backup image. Free space of 500MB seems indeed too little in order to keep CWM backups (or too little for any other purpose). Why not get a bigger SD? They're not that expensive.

Hey digdis, first of all thanks for answer but you don't understand me, or maybe I didn't explain very well what I want...
I know I have to do may own backup directly on my SD Card and, as you say, i'm gonna buy a bigger one...
Let me se if I can better explain my doubt with my limited english
Well, suppose:
- I do my backup on my SD by my ClockWork Recovery
- I copy it from my SD Card and paste it to my own computer to free up my memory on the device
- Imagine now, that, because of an unknown reason, I brick my phone and I can only get access to my recovery...
- How can I copy and paste my backup to my SDCard if my pc doesn't recognize my phone while I'm in recovery mode?
That's the problem... my drivers are all installed on my PC and it recognize my phone while it's turned on... but, when I'm in recovery mode and I plug my phone to my PC, it recognize a device called "vee7ds" but it cannot find its drivers... so I can't send or receive datas between my phone and my computer...
Is all clear now?

OK, you know I understand quickly when they explain it to me slowly.
So, I guess you have two options here:
1. Assuming you have enough spare space on your new SD (say 1GB), just keep the backup image on it. This way, if you get bricked, you will be able to perform the recovery without copying it from your PC. That's what I recommend.
2. Assuming you have no spare space, or don't want to keep the backup on your SD, you can keep your backup image on the PC in peaceful times. If your phone gets bricked, you can extract the SD from your phone, insert it either to another phone or you can buy a USB micro-SD adapter ($0.5 in AliExpress) in order to copy your backup image from your PC. Then put your SD back in the phone and perform the recovery.

No problem. I don't think anyone would support such a thing as recovery is usually pretty minimalistic. I really don't think it's an issue - bricking your phone should happen somewhere between never and rarely, and if by chance it will happen - any of the ways I described earlier should work.

Any link for this, Riskey? Didn't see this update on your L7 II CWM thread. What are the changes comparing to the previous release?
Edit: Sorry, just saw the update, but didn't notice it because you edited the first post without adding a new one. I'd suggest you add a new post to this thread in order for people to notice the update.

Hey guys.. after like 2 months i still havent figured out what to do after following thousands of guides..
I've tried rooting my hero but it stucks on downloading .boot.img = FAILED (remote:no access) or sth like that.. i have followed every step in like 20+ guides?and i always get the same error no matter what i do.. also the one-click flash rooting fails because from what i've been told i have an updated kernel (or how its called) version and it is fixed :/
any info u might want i am open to tell you (like my kernel version etc) i just dont know what u need to "solve" my problem ;d just ask!
i just want to root it so i can have apps on my sd, bluetooth and nothing else
Dont worry, you havent bricked your Hero yet!

bump
so i somehow managed to downgrade my hero, flash it through recovery and i can access the new menu from home + power button but it still says am not rooted... any ideas?:/
You have achieved major hurdles.
To get root you have to flash rooted rom like Mocado's. I have v2.8 which I think has everything I wanted. You can have your own choice>>>
http://www.thei.tguy.co.uk/hero/Older 'Updates'/
if i flash a rom do i loose my messages/contacts if i DONT backup?also can i partition my SD without rooting? and i have already tried Amon Ra with better terminal emulator but it fails ;d btw if possible try pm me
f--k this-.-
after all the good progress i've had..
i managed to root it, partition my SD and when i tried to move my apps it, midway, it asked me to restart my device..so i did.. and now all my apps are gone, factory reset has been made, contacts are lost, messages are lost..almost EVERYTHING is lost apart from application shortucts-.- :S i have made a backup but i dont know how to use it (lol-.-) pls reply
freaking p----ed...
sry for all the bumpness.. really in need of help
whenever i try to fastboot it says not allowed..and am about to cry..
stupid nandroid backup cant get it to work! pls help!
You flashed Amons recovery... With it you can format and partition sd card, and flash rom of your choice.
Yes you loose everything when flashing rom. You could have copied your contact on sim or sd, same for applications. You can reinstall but a word of advice,
Do your wipes first, I mean to ensure smooth running of rom. Hope it helps.
And when not sure please read, read and read, we are all here to help one another. Regards.
how can i do a backup for my contacts and messages? i have the .img files ;/
when i fastboot it says remote: not allow
also htc sync doesnt work now
and when i restore from recovery boot it says nandroid mobile sh failed run via console ;/
No dont flash .img.
Re- restoring contacts, I dont know any easy way but all your sim contacts can be copied. All phone contacts will have been wiped ,that swhat happenes when we install new os.
i thought it was the other way around and i copied everything on my mobile.. lol..
anw doesnt matter ;d just had 40 contacts anw ;d
can i restore messages, application saves and application folders at least? btw my phone aint working on htc sync now ROMS are still on btw
and how can i correctly partition my SD so any application i add it is saved on SD?thx ;d
Just one thing. Refrain from using foul languages as this forum is open to all ages of members and it will also reflect bad on you.
Install something like Astro, open it ,click menu and go from there to back up all your installed apps.
yeah sry forgot :/
will edit it right away
also thats what i mean, all my apps and their saves/settings are on backup.imgs :/ my hero is like a brand new one with modaco installed and nothing else... and htc sync doesnt load it, although i can use mass storage
Back up images are actually of rom itself. Sorry I dont know how to reinstate sms messages. This questiones was asked by a friend about his iPhone and again I couldnt answer as I never owned iPhone.
Anybody out there to answer question raised in above post?
meh doesnt matter i guess
i'll just "rebuild" it from scratch ;/
just wanna know what to do now so i get a partition on my SD.. i have a 2gb card which was partitioned before but i restored it.. i want 2 things
1) howto partition it for automatic saving apps on SD! and not having to move them everytime
2) how to make HTC sync works -.- i think i "broke" it:S i reinstalled it 4 times so far..nothing..
1) Format and partition feature s in your recovery. Format the whole card as fat32 and next make partition but again you will loose everything on card! After that you will need to mount your sd card ( option in recovery) so that you can put copy back everything on it. But why do you want to do it if everything is working?
2) Do you see ADB in system properties? If yes, drivers are installed correctly.
It is worth browsing Dream forums as Dream was first Android phone hence more to read and almost all can be related to Magic and Hero units operational practices except rooting and flashing bits.
one last thing man
atm i am looking for another application to connect to my hero to install other apks :/ currently i have apps2sd on hero although and i was wondering if all i have to do is Copy apps to SD and thats all? (whats dalvik cache that asks me to copy btw?)
i asked about formating and partitioning cause i am getting an 8gb in a few days and i was wondering if i should do it like that
and no i cant see ADB in system properties ;o how can i install the drivers ;/
1) i've read that modaco doesnt work with HTC sync anymore sometimes.. so i was wondering if there is anyway i can install apk without htc sync?
(tried with adb had 2 different errors)
2)is there anyway to like load 2-3 roms and swap between them without loosing anything? (if yes, how)
thx
edit: i reinstall htc sync and my drivers are gone! cant get them back..my pc doesnt even load APK files! :S
Hi
I had rooted my LG Optimus one and had deleted some applications with Titanium backup.
Now when i attach my phone to any computer it is not getting detected. i tried resetting the phone to factor default, reloaded drivers and LG pc suite . tried almost everything possible.
It is not even going into usb mass storage mode. The device manager on PC too does not detect any usb conection happening. Everything else on the phone is working fine.
Is that any usb related module on the phone got accidently deleted ?
Whats the possible solution now ?
Have you checked the USB-MASS STORAGE option in SETTINGS-> SDCARD & PHONE STORAGE SETTINGS ?
yes
yes i have done everything . selected mass usb storage too..
the problem is that no PC even detects a USB connection happening when i attach the phone
This happened to me twice now... I just sent it in to the LG service center. The tech guy said he did a "software update" which I took to mean reflashing the original ROM all over again.
I recommend doing a KDZ update if possible then install custom recovery and do a nandroid backup so you will always have a failsafe.
Dont take my word for it yet though... Hopefully someone else can enlighten us. I now use the void custom ROM so that there will be no unnecessary apps on my phone ^_^
Dear all, can any body tell me how much space is required on sd for nandroid backup?
I have limited space on stock sd card.

IIRC, around <500 MB. Each backup you make wont overwrite the last one so watch how many you make. But this is actually a good thing. And each backup type you make (nand, nand + android secure, etc.) also makes its own folder.
Backup and try to restore first to see if it works (backing up the nand+anything else didnt work for me).
Thanks a lot. I believe I'll have to delete some files on sd. And after that I can make a nandroid backup. I also feel we can copy the backup to pc and can use it later if need arises?

I believe so as long as it is in the correct folder where you found it.
What I feared for my phone before was that I cannot do a KDZ update because the PC wouldnt see my phone and I did not have custom recovery installed (nor a backup obviously...). Thats why I sent it to the service center...
When I got it back, I didnt abuse my phone as much (used it for call and text only) until I was finally able to install custom recovery ^_^
Important update
Hi guys
I had gone to the LG service station. Got my phone re-flashed with the latest firmware V10C . But the PC still can't detect the phone .
Now LG is giving me a new handset in exchange. They say its some problem with the hardware.
Hi all, was trying to format another memory card that i have because it would not read in windows for some reason,so anyway i inserted into my phone and formatted emmc thinking it was this other card but turns out i wiped almost everything from my phone(backups, music, pics) everything!! is there no way of retrieving anything, thanks in advance!!
Recuva might be able to recover data that's in folders you can normally see when you hook the phone up to a PC (I.E not in system folders). A Google search also reveals Android specific data recovery apps tho I can't vouch for those.

Is there a way we can get this device supportive? I don't know to much about finding the check_sigs and hdr. I have attached the aboot.img and boot.img if anyone is willing to help thanks!

I would totally donate to anyone who took the time to figure this phone out. When I went to the T-Mobile store, I was looking for the L9, which appears to have a strong modding community behind it, but they didn't have it in-store and I was in a pinch, so here I sit with a completely stock experience in my pocket. Not the worst stock experience, surely, but still stock.

lg f6 help...Please help save a guy from bricking!
So I apologize if Im posting in the wrong spot but I noticed yall are still working on the F6...so I figured this made sense...
I thought I knew exactly what I wasdoing but did not....I was lucky enough to find patience enough to read up before flashing...I see the threads posted on how to root, backup, and restore this phone...but all those threads explain it using so0ftware other than I have... Since I made some moves before truly knowing what I was doing...I'd like to just stick wiith what i got for the moment and see if yall, as the experts can guide me down the runway...
Heres What I have so far:
1. I DO have root access
2. I DO have SuperSU and it seems to be working in the sense that it keeps logs...but sometimes it gives me a binary error. (I have NOT et converted SuperSU into a system app...bc im unclear if its necessary after reading a few different threads)
3. I DO have Root Browser' which I use to shuffle things around. (I DO have the /system and /data folders relocated on my external SD)
4. I DO have Titanium Backup which I used to BU my USER APPS/SYSTEM DATA.
5. I DO have Flashify which I also used to BU my STOCK RECOVERY/KERNEL (I cant seem to figure out where that recovery is being default stored though...Ive been searching high and low.
NOTE: Although im happy I have made it this far...I dont wanna go any further until I know exactly what im doing. I fear that I have missed something small. Something that would be a no brainer to you experts.
I'm unclear of storage requirements...I BELIEVE that I must store all my rooted tools on the external bc the goal is to wipe everything NOT on ext SD.
What I THINK I know is that hypothetically since im backed up...or when im 100% certain everything is....I can just click REBOOT TO RECOVERY MODE under the menu using Titanium.
IF I happen to be correct up to that point....I think my next move is using Titanium to put back the things ive stored on my SD.
In my mind that leaves me with the same ROM...but without the fluff...and now the ability to save to ext SD.....
If I underestand right....currently there are no MOD upgrades available due to difficulty of unlocking the bootlag....or something that sounds likethat...
I have ZERO experience with any of this....I hope what I just shared is at least in the ballpark of the right direction..
THANK YOU for any and all help!

Is the recovery in "clockworkmod" folder in internal or exteral sd (was on my Metro F6)
And
Have you found this .... MS500][F6] Freedom Kernel Overclocked by GameTheory?
Over at.... here
Its for Metro LG F6 but I already ran tmobile firmware on my metro f6 without any problems....
I hope I can place an external link, as I'm somewhat unclear on if I can or can't.
IF it is wrong, please remove. I've been a member since 06 (That's 2006) I should be able to do so?????
Recovering F6
I agree with MadeFree, that the recovery file should be found in the 'Clockwork Mod' folder, under External SD, when using File Manager. When in recovery mode it should automatically bring up your Rom-backup when you click on Recover from External / (creation date) file name / yes to confirm.
Also, I use the F6 and I have bricked it multiple times while trying to figure out what i can actually do on it, as it only currently has a custom recovery made for it. I have been trying to figure out myself how to recover all the apps, files, pics, videos, etc. when i have to flash to STOCK Rom during brick. Currently, my solution for this was not found in the 'nano-droid backup' (i have been led to believe it could be recovered in RECOVERY MODE) but rather in an app called ROM toolbox from Google store. This does so much more than Titanium Backup does but i still use titanium for backing up a single application if needed. Rom toolbox can also save a copy of the Kernel as well as monitor your apps, make CPU tweaks, make backups using Google drive and much more. But the easiest way I have found for me may be different for you. Currently, my only reliable solution for recovering my data is using ZIP ME, (downloaded from the ROM toolbox app) as well as backing everything up using Google drive. The zip files are nice when not near my computer though. All i have to do after booting up the 'factory reset' is open file manager and look for my zips.
do not be afraid to soft brick (looping, freezes, crashes) when all you have to do is factory reset your phone using key combo or use the firmware followed in from the link provided by Madefree, down below.

But the easiest way I have found for me may be different for you. Currently, my only reliable solution for recovering my data is using ZIP ME, (downloaded from the ROM toolbox app) as well as backing everything up using Google drive. The zip files are nice when not near my computer though. All i have to do after booting up the 'factory reset' is open file manager and look for my zips.
do not be afraid to soft brick (looping, freezes, crashes) when all you have to do is factory reset your phone using key combo or use the firmware followed in from the link provided by Madefree, down below.

whats up hroark13 me and a couple other devs have brought cyanogenmod 11 to this phone im trying to spread the word it is located here http://androidforums.com/metropcs-o...eta-4-4-4-cyanogenmod-11-0-unofficial-12.html
Since there isn't any Custom ROM for the SM-T380 I made this TWRP back from my tablet, running on stock Oreo took all the bloatware, Knox out to add some root mods, and latest updates with Magisk root. No other personal app added
This is a compressed TWRP backup, not a flashable ZIP!
Download it from here
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lBsTd04Un6xJQkA0E6LpWxeDX7bhwsai
how to install TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../twrp-3-2-1-1-tab-sm-t380-10-02-2018-t3747564
DOWNLOAD/EXTRACT zip file from above Google Drive's link to your PC
Now REBOOT your tablet into TWRP recovery
connect tablet using USB cable to your PC make sure you have Samsung drivers installed, so you can see your tablet on your PC
ON your Tablet create a backup within TWRP's backup tab on your SD Card storage (choose storage SD card)
browse to that folder and open that SD card's TWRP backup folder, using your PC
go to last folder where you should see some files, delete them then
Copy EXTRACTED files from (Google Drives) into TWRP backups folder on your SD card TWRP/BACKUPS/xxxxxxxx/ from your PC to that SD card.
Where xxxxxxxx is your device serial number;
Once done copying the file
go to, restore's tab within your TWRP
RESTORE everything showing there (all those three partitions)
REBOOT to system
IF you can't see those copied files on your tablet then you have missed something. Restart back into TWRP
Thanks

Hi, I have a T380, I thought about installing this, but before I do, will this work on the t380? Because you have T380T, and I have T380. And if I want, can I put some of the stock apps back on?
Indeed it works on a T380

I just installed it on my T380.. Be sure to follow the directions entirely. And remember to reboot TWRP after putting the sdcard with the backup files back in or else it may not read it (mine would not).

followed the directions but device wont read the backup file. would you mind posting all the steps you took to do the backup.
I had the same issue, so when the proper backup files are in place on the ext sdcard and reinserted into the device, but the device won't read it -- for me, I had to reboot the device into recovery and THEN it would read it.
Hi,a friend is running android 9 stock on the T-380.Does not have alot of apps installed, but hardly and internal memory left.I was thinking of rooting it,and uninstalling some system apps. Can you possibly tell me which system apps are safe to uninstall on this tablet?

always change apk extension with .APKbak
so if you got into mess you can rename the APKbak into .APK
if i got android 9 can i do this it?
Is file support with t385??
I want to personally thank you for this TWRP image! I completely hosed my sm-T380 that I just got as a backup tablet while trying to root it.
This did the trick Thank you again!!!
I did this using internal memory and all ok. thanks.
I need to say THANK YOU BRO!!!! You just saved my ass!!
But can't tell how much a custom ROM is needed for this device.
Only things to do, is to remove all the bloat left whit the link you provide above and that's it.
Once again, 3 thumbs up! (don't ask me where I found the third one lolll)
it's a great work .I want download it, but I can't download google file directly(site blockked), I have to through VPN.So the speed is not quick enough for me,I can't complete the downloading within an hour when google vary the token. The download work can't continue and must restart from the beginning.
If you have time, would you please split it into several parts, each size blow 300M?Thanks a lot, this file I think useful and can give me big help and save me time.
