[Q] excel to apk - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know there is probably an easier way to do this but I have created a quiz via excel (Sitting in file format at the moment so that all that will load is userform for the quiz - so heavily vba coded) I want to turn this into a apk file so that i can load to android market place, I want to be able to add new features in the future (leaderboard, timer, more questions)
Any idea the best way to do this??

[Q] Learning in eclipse, a few questions..

I've been searching to see if there is a way to use a clone of my phone as an android virtual device for eclipse, I've not found any answers..I'm beginning to think that it is not possible because I haven't found the "here's how to clone your phone as an AVD" thread anywhere..is this correct?
If that isn't possible, exactly how much if any modification can I make to the AVD to make it more like my phone (contacts, apps and settings etc), would I just find the AVD's files and replace them or are they packed in a zip/rar file or are they just resource files that are being called up that will change the behavior of every AVD that I create if I alter them?
Finally- what would you guys say the minimum system requirements for developing for ICS and compiling ROMs would be? Looking to get a new desktop, this 1.5ghz gateway notebook isn't going to cut it....
Thx!
(BTW..I've already started making apps..nothing useful but they worked, and I got them on my phone and functional...hopefully be able to contribute back to the community soon yay! )

[Q] APK with flash

Hi all!!!
I am new on development of android applications and I need some help. I need to create an application that have to show some flash content and have to connect to external server, I think with an WebService.
Do you have any recomendation or any limitation on this plataform?? I need to upload the flash content idealy with the same webservice, like a sincronization process.
I think that the WebService application is going to be on PHP or Java Server Page.
best regards!!!
Well, if the entire app will be flash, you can make the flash file in Adobe Flash, then export it as an Adobe AIR app. Adobe AIR is a platform that turns Flash files into apps for iPhone, Android, etc. I don't know the specifics, but that's what I have read.
Hope this helps at all,
Corbin

Urgently XDA Developer needed on partnership basis

Hi All,
I am looking for someone to help create .apk for Android boxes.
This will be an ongoing partnership as we will update the apk with regular update every month which should automatically show on clients box.
If you think you are the right person and have time on your hands to create apk please let us know.
I would also like to know about how the firmwares can be altered on android boxes.
If you have hands on customised XBMC and other live streaming links we would like to create them as well within the apk and XBMC.
The main thing I am after is creating 1 or max of 3 files which will
1. Root the android box
2. Install the new apk file/firmware
3. Install the customised XBMC with our logo, etc.
I am looking at a quick option to connect android box with computer and run the files to achieve the above points.
Looking for a favourable reply.

[Q] Android ROM customization roadmap, general question

Hi guys, with my team we are working on an android device. At the moment we have accomplished the following steps:
Develop the PCB and touch screen to work with Android
Download 4.4.4 AOSP and customized the kernel for our device
saved source into GitHub and have a custom ROM with bootloader
So far so good, right now we have android running on our custom hardware (MIPS CPU) and we are quite satisfied with the overall performances.
Now we are starting the second phase of the project, and this is where we got stuck. We need to completely wipe out the UX and interaction of android 4.4.4 and create our own one.
This is what we need to accomplish:
Create a custom boot animation
Create a cutom animation for the battery charge
remove status bar (Time, Battery level) and pre-installed .apk
Create our own Android OS interaction with our .apks
Regarding the first steps, that's easy. We plugged into bootloader folder and started to change the animations for Battery and Logo. Regarding the rest the only solution we came up with is to have a sort of kiosk application that substitute the standard home screen.
Is there any other way to substitute the home screen with our own .apk? We have a built-in plug-in app so actually our .apk can pick up other .apk from file explorer and execute them. The problem is that we don't want to show to the user the underground system, so we don't want to show to the user anything except our home screen or kiosk mode app. Because the device will be used by commercial projects and retail stores.
What would be the best approach? Just remove all pre-installed .apk from the ROM (like calculator, browser, contacts) and execute an .apk in kiosk mode or create a new bootloader? Where we can find more documentation about this topic?

Google Maps - How to navigate from a custom GPX map file?

So I know how to create a custom map using TomTom's MyDrive program on the computer, and I know how to upload that custom "map" (with desired route) to my Google Maps account on the computer, and I know how to open the map/route file on my phone, but how do I force Google Maps to navigate based on that exact route? It appears to only show the route as an overlay, not as a desired route. Is it possible to force Google Maps to navigate based on the route I want to take created in the GPX file?
Thanks!
Dear LifeAsADroid, this post is donkeys, so replying is likely futile, but still. I was wondering whether you solved your problem. Unsurprisingly, I have the same and could not find a solution (other than folks saying that it doesn't work).
