Calendar sync with Facebook? - Verizon LG G3

So on top of several other little things I found missing on the g3..I notice my calendar doesn't sync with Facebook as far as birthdays. My M8 abd s5 and I'm pretty sure my g2 done this. What gives?

Yeah, I've been looking for the same thing. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be an option

You can try this: https://www.facebook.com/help/152652248136178/

What part in there is helpful?

It doesn't apply directly to the Facebook app, but you can have Google calendar automatically sync your Facebook Birthdays and events. Then they will show on your android device calendar when your calendar syncs to your phone. This should be a continuous sync and not a one time sync.
Its a workaround to the original poster's problem and the only way to sync to my knowledge on android.

I use Haxsync for this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mots.haxsync&hl=en

I use Facebook Calendar Sync on my G3 and it works wonderfully:

[Q] Sync w/2 Exchange Accounts

Does anyone know of any apps that can sync two Exchange accounts at the same time? I need them both to be active at the same time also. The stock app can do this and I have it setup this way but it lacks features that I would like to have. I have looked at Touchdown and it is a really nice app that has all that I would like and it allows more than one profile but you can only have one active at a time.
I have the same issues, so I use 1 touchdown and 1 using the built in.

Thanks. I thought about that but then I only gain the features I need on one account and not both. I actually tried that for a day or two and it was not going to work for me. It would also be nice to see both calendars together as I do now.
I use the android agenda widget which can combine multiple calendars

Thanks again! I downloaded that widget and it works great for what I need. I may rethink using Touchdown for one of my accounts.

Social Hub facebook Sync Contacts

hi everyone!
dont know if u notice.... the option for facebook contacts sync in the social hub was removed in the new Ics Rom the problem with this is that all the contacts pics are now small resolution.. so there pixalated as.. f....k
anyone knows a solution for this??
Me saw that too... and so has the inherest ability to sync fb birthdays to tw calendar also gone... Any workarounds anyone??
Yes, HaxSync paid app and works better syncs higher quality photos, events and birthdays. Worth the pennies it costs from play store.

Also noticed that it's missing, however a review on GSM arena seems to suggest it should be there?
One important change is the new Contacts app. It integrates with your SNS services and gives you a second tab for each contact's details with their photo and info grabbed from social networks.
You get to this tab by swiping sideways - a bit like you would in Windows Phone (Android has really grown into the sideways swipe thing too).

not there any more and 3rd party application is the solution.

Any more? is that SURE? and... Why? Do you have any source, please?
I dont understand why Calendar and messages can be sync but contacts cant....
Is it permanent for ICS roms that are to come?
Thanks
I actually created a new thread for this not knowing that it has been asked...
Yes, I also noticed the GSMarena review and so I thought that I had a bad update. I tried to restore to factory setting and reflash the firmware update but still nada.
My current conclusion is perhaps for somewhat reason some firmware versions have the SNS contact integration and some don't...
Mine is XLP7. Would others kindly share their firmware version and situation on the SNS contact integration?

Not possible with ICS.
You can try friendcaster(free) and HaxSync (paid).

I am using ICS DXLP7. If you just upgrade from Ginger to ICS without doing data wipe or factory reset, calendar and messages were fine but Official Samsung ICS ROM (upgraded using KIES) doesn't have Facebook Contacts sync anymore.
However, if you did do the factory reset after installing ICS on you Galaxy S2 ... poor you, you will not be able to sync any of the three (Facebook contacts, messages, and calender). Must use third party app.
yeah at the end the solution is an app from the market.. theres 2 that works well but they dont sync phone numbers tho

I mean, nothing happens when I add facebook account. Finally I installed Facebook contact Sync app from Google play. So I have found a work around but the original problem still persists. I even found some threads going on about this same topic.
from ics up, android is no longer able to synchronise with facebook.
its a known unresolvable issue... facebook as of now cannot be synced

I was just about to suggest Facebook Contact Sync, there isn't really that much extra that can be gained from having the Facebook app synced directly.
IIRC, birthdays might be a problem with FCS, but I use Ebo Birthday for that anyway.

Its because it is not supported. As simple as that! Use Haxsync for this purpose. for syncing birthdays best way is to add your FB calendar in Google calendar. Haxsync syncs calendar too.

Calendars not syncing

Problem:
I have 3 calendars in my google calendar.
3 groups.
They are perfectly synced on my Z.
Z2 syncs the main Gmail one, the other subgroups are NOT synced.
How to force it to sync?

I know it may be stating the obvious but im assuming you have the other calendars all ticked. i.e open calendar app, tap top left to display year, month, week etc and at the bottom you'll see the calendars its showing (you can also pick their colour to differentiate)

Of course. The problem is THEY ARE NOT THERE.
The only one visible is default gmail.com one.
The other two are NOT there, although they are on Gmail and on my Xperia Z as well.
Maybe you can say which calendar(s) make you problem?

I'm sure its a kitkat related problem as your Xperia Z would be running JB not 4.4.2.
Have you tried clearing the calendar caches. i.e. from managing apps, finding calendar and clearning the data cache and then attempting a re sync?
If that doesnt work, it may be the stock calendar. Then try google calendar from the play store to try to pinpoint what is causing it. i.e. calendar on the phone, kitkat etc
I had the same problem. 1 of my calendar was not appearing. I solved it by removing my account from the accounts settings and adding it back. Then all my calendar appeared in stock calendar app.

My gmail calendar has 3 groups/subgroups whatever you call it.
Only one syncs. The other ones do not.
How to remove the account?
Google account?
Settings-tap on Google (in section Accounts),tap on email adress, in sync page tap on 3 dots, choose delete account.
NO SUCCESS.
After removing and resyncing the Google account I still see only default calendar.
What a crap!

Have you cleared the calendar app cache and data via managing apps.
Also tried Google calendar from the play store?
This will atleast start eliminating what the culprit could be.
It may be the calendar app itself for some reason.

Ok so I installed the GoogleCalendar.
After that the other calendars started to be visible in the Google one
But than also appeared on Sony one (!!!).
I uninstalled the Google one and the calendars stayed in the Sony one.
Wicked! But thanks.

z2 google calendars not displaying
Just wanted to say I removed and re-added the google account and then finally showed all the calendars that I linked to my account.
One thing I've noticed that I'm sure wasn't an issue before is that it only syncs about 1yr back not All events. Via google calendar from a PC events years ago are there but not on my phone. Just can't find any options to sync everything

Gmail Exchange Account - Calendar

Hi everyone,
ive just added my corporate exchange account using the builtin functionality in the new Gmail app.
However it seems that my corporate calendar is not visible in the new calendar app?
Or do i miss something?
Regards,
Fabio
check under settings - accounts - exchange and make sure the box for calendar is checked.
In the calendar app there should be a setting for accounts to display.
Hope this helps.
do you have nexus 9?
I dont see it in the calendar options either. I think its a bug or missing feature of the new Google Calendar App for Lollipopp

Sure, see attached. If you go into SETTINGS-> ACCOUNTS-> EXCHANGE, you should see your accounts listed. From there click the one you want and make sure calendar is checked. Hopefully that helps.
1. Screenshot: looks exact the same on my device (despite the account name of course )
2. Screenshot: Only my personal Gmail and the More Calendars are visible -.-

Hmmmm, that's weird. i hate to pull the old device technician card... but did you try all the normal steps like remove and add the account, soft reboot, hard reset?
If those don't work, maybe it's something device OR exchange email specific. does your personal Gmail calendar work fine?

dont you worry. I dont feel offended by that
Actually i already tried to re-add it and rebooting the device. However i did not perform a hard reset so far. Actually i wanna avoid that as I otherwise would need to reinstall all my huge business related apps (X-Com and so on )

Just upgraded my Nexus 5 to Lollipop. Calender is missing there too. I think there may be a serious bug.
What version of exchange server do you guys have/use?

We have a 2010 server and use Outlook 2010 also.
I noticed a small update today to my nexus 9, but don't know what it was. Maybe that would help?
