Whenever I try various CM 11 themes, sometimes system ui error screen appears and after that the screen starts to toggle between lock screen and the earlier screen.
There is no way I can access other things on phone even restarting the phone doesnt solve the issue ,I also tried clearing cache & delvik cache but its doesnt help
Does any one know any solution or workaround where I can atleast get a chance to change the theme
The only solution right now is to do a factory reset from recovery

Just now i decided to update froyo to gingerbread and dx is a very nice looking and fast rom. But the weird thing is that the screen will fades and eventually turn off by itself, the only way to get the screen to work again is to press lock button to lock then unlock. This issue doesnt get away after few reboots. Also chinese language in dx is not fully supported.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Should i try any other gingerbread rom?
This is how i install rom:
Wipe dalvik cache, wipe partition cache, fatory reset, flash rom, flash modules_fix, flash cmparts_fix, factory reset.
Is this correct?

-Settings
- Display settings
-Brightnesss
then UNCHECK Automatic brightness
now issue with fading screen should no to take place
I've searched around the forums and so far, most of the results were people having trouble with their phone getting stuck in recovery/boot/download mode.
My phone, however, is stuck in the call mode where the keypad takes up most of the screen. Everything else is working fine with the phone, as I can see unread text messages and other programs that running and notifying me of updates in the background. Wifi and data work fine as well.
The problem is, I can't get out of the call keypad mode and into my home screen with all my apps. I've tried restarting, turning it on/off, taking out the battery, and charging it via USB to the computer. Nothing is working! Please help :crying:
Clear data on phone & if that doesn't work maybe try a factory reset ?
Do the following steps below:
- Boot to CWM recovery
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
- fix permissions (under advanced)
- reboot system now
This issue sounds familiar......like a launcher problem. I have 3 fixes:
Clear data of your launcher
or download another launcher, by trying to get to your play store app by universal search or from the playstore on the pc
if strangely none of the above works, flash another rom or reflash your rom if you like it that much
Note that this message should have been the 1st, cause if im right the two solutions you recieved above should work. The problem is if your running stock ics 4.0.4, you may end up with the emmc brick bug if you use recovery or do a factory reset. We dont know what your using since you never told us.

I would like to apologize in advance if the question was posted before, the description is too brief or anything like that since it is my first post here (although I had searched for similar questions but didn't find any with a proper solution).
After installing CM10.2 with GApps on my Galaxy S2 i9100 (actually, before that I tried Firefox OS which messed up my /data, had to repartition manually and it helped then) I tried to install - and run - Triangle Away, but it froze. Then I made a terrible mistake imo: I rebooted. After that (I mean, after flashing CM again since it didn't work at all) I got an issue with the screen going black after unlocking the phone or apps freezing (running launcher, going to 'system settings' etc; tested on Trebuchet, haven't tried any other launcher so far). I also had a problem (again) with broken datafs, but used patched PIT from somewhere in here, I will edit out that post and paste the url to the thread.
Another thing that should be mentioned is that that status/notification bar is working without any problems when the launcher freezes, and when the screen goes black the 'back' and 'menu' buttons give feedback when pressed (they make the phone vibrate but when I press volume up/down there is no sound).
I've already tried doing wipe data/factory reset, cleaning cache and dalvik and wiping system with flashing CM again but without any progress. Also wanted to check adb logcat, but I cannot get into usb debugging settings (launcher freezes when 'system settings' is pressed).
What could be the solution?

I just updated some apps from google play, I think it was google search, text to speech and some apps and a game that I have on my phone. I later get a phone call from a friend and when I hang up I get this message that gapps have been crashed. I pressed okay and thought nothing more than that. But then I get this warning signs about more and more things are crashing. I decide to turn my phone off and now it is stuck on the kernel screen (DorimanX Kernel)
I use ReVolt v4.3 and I have done nothing else with the phone except updating some apps. I can boot to recovery so I tried to clean the dalvik cache and the regular cache but it still wont start.
EDIT: I solved it by also using the fix permission that is an option in CWM. It is working alright for now. I guess it was some issues with the new apps permission that made the phone stuck on boot screen!
I had Pure Nexus installed on my Nexus 9 with a theme applied. I flashed the newest update of the ROM and it will boot and get to the start up screen, but it will not let you select a language as a pop up occurs that says "settings has stopped". I think it has something to do with the layer I had applied. The pop up is colored the same as the layer I had applied, and a split second before the set up screen appears you can see the layers button icons as well.
I have done a factory reset through TWRP and selected every DalviK cache, data, system, and internal, but it will not make it pass the set up screen without saying "settings has stopped". The only ROM I can get to boot up on it is CM. I have tried other ROMs ( Nuclear, Noob builds, Uber, Marshalicious) and they do the same. CM boots up no problem. I have also tried different Kernels and different GAPPs. Nothing seems to work. The only thing that I have not tried is taking it back to stock. I thought I would ask you all for any suggestions as I am a total noob at this and don't want to mess up my tablet any worse than I have already.
