Status 7 error is issue of updater script but you are flashing gapps so there should not be updater script issue. Then maybe your recovery is not supported to flash 4.4+ stuffs.
As per my knowledge you need latest or atlest v6+ CWM recovery to flash Kitkat stuffs.
Which recovery are you using?
(i assuming that your CM 11 have update binary patch by which you managed to install CM 11,you may apply same patch to gapps and try)

You CWM is outdated hence it is unable to install 4.4+ stuffs.Your CM11 comes with update Binary patched so you installed it.
If you want to install gapps then open your gapps via 7zip and CM11 rom also.
Now drag, drop anbd replace update binary of gapps by cm11's update binary.Means use update binary of CM11 in gapps.
(update binary location:- META-INF\com\google\android\update-binary )

Last I heard, people were having issues flashing with the updated 2.7.0.1 twrp. The error status 7 you are getting is from using a jb recovery and not an updated kk recovery. The recovery that needs to be used is in the OP of PA if you are using brothaedhung's rom.

Ok i will check that and update what about emulated storage?

When you click on the link you will see the name of the zip...ext-sd-efs... Allows the efs to be backed up and fixes the ext-sd/emulated storage issue.
I have been running KitKat ROMs since I got this phone months ago, so naturally I went with the KitKat Ext SD version of TWRP. I decided to try MIUI which was 4.2.2 Jellybean, and I was experiencing the Status 7 messages you are mentioning.
Potential solution:
Install the latest (6.0.4.7) PhilZ Touch Recovery for the E970 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2201860
Once installed you have to force using the update-binary described in this post:

Fixes:
- start of 6.15.4, PhilZ Touch added an option to force using the update-binary that comes in your zip.

CWM Status 6 while installing Gapps

While installing the Gapps Modular Mini 5.1.1 with Clockworkmod 6.0.4.7 on my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE I get the error "status 6". I've tried looking up information about this error but could find very little, I only read something about an updater script but didn't understand it.
You have to update your recovery. It is better to use latest TWRP. You can download it from here https://dl.twrp.me/i9300/
If you are unsure how to flash a .img you can find the zip in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64148147&postcount=1259

Cannot install Cm12.1 and any gapps on samsung s3 GT-i9300

A.O.A everyone.
i have s3 GT-I9300 my cell was rooted and i installed cm 12.1 and its gapps and it was working perfectly then i downloaded cm 13 and its full gapps when i installed it cm 13 installed successfully but when i install full gapps it stuck on logo and don't start.but when i installed its miniapps it installed successfully but it have only few things like sms, camera, browser, gallery etc but no play store, account login either google or anyone account. Then i tried to install cm12.1 which i have already installed in it before cm13 it was not installing. after that i uses Samsung kies and get back to my old version jeally bean and no root.
I again root my cell with kingo root and then i again tried to install cm12.1 but it was giving the error of root permission.
I installed cm10.2 on my cell it installed but no gapps .i fix the root permission and again installed cm12.1 it was installed successfully and also the gapps then i click on reboot it gave me the error of reboot and fix root permission whenever i install gapps it stuck in start logo (Samsung Galaxy s3 I9300) and don't start.
now i am using cm10.2 with no Gapps tell me how to fix root permission and install cm 12.1 and its gapps o it
Thank u
Before installing any rom at first flash sock rom. Download stock rom from sammobile.com flash it via odin.
Then install cwm recovery CWM recovery . Go to cwm recovery flash Supersu.zip to root ur mobile. Then Flash the custom rom which you want. Download & flash gapps from Here
Hi, What suresh said will work. if you're unable to flash Su zip via recovery then odin is your safest and fool proof way.
And as far as the gapps are concerned, though you can choose according to your liking - reading the ROM's forums give the best output~ People share their experiences with gapps.
I suggest you take a backup before flashing anything, all is well until you flash something & it disintegrates your rom experience, but you just can't go back. So never forget to BACKUP.
installation problem of cm and gapps
i have already try this but this does not work. i install the firmfare with samsung kies then root again with kingo root.after that i install the cmw and try to install cm 12.1 but it didn't work.u are telling me again the same procedure which i have already tried earlier.
Instead of flashing via kies you need to flash via odin.
The problem will be kingroot. You should root by flashing cfautoroot via odin.
installation problem of cm and gapps
ok now i am trying this
root problem
Again it is giving the same problem fix root.Root access possibly lost .now what i do.how can i send u pics of the problem?pics are not attaching here

Flashing a different Custom Recovery without a charging port (Broken charging port)

So i wanted to install custom rom(cyanogenmod 14.1) on my S3 device I realized that my device has already CWM (v5.5.0.4 :: CF -v1.5 ). I can flash cyanogenmod 14.1 with no issues but I can't flash gapps. After installing gapps, I get a lot of errors when I boot(Setup wizard has stopped). I tried 2 different versions of gapps(aroma, nano) both of them didn't work. I started to think that my CWM version is the issue. I want to flash another Custom Recovery like newer version of CWM of TWRP but as I said my charging port is broken. I just want my device to have android nougat with google apps. I hope I can find a solution
Download the TWRP App from Google play and install. You could also search for a flashable TWRP recovery und Update within TWRP to latest version by flashing the .img file.
The problem wont be the recovery. Make sure gapps is the correct one for your device. Check the software versions and cross reference them against Apkmirror.com.
Beamed in by telepathy.
That's a problem of Cyanogenmod 13 / 14.
Wipe your Cache/System/Data Partitions and reflash Cyanogenmod 14.1. Then don't boot up, you've to install the gapps package directly after that.
Make sure that you have downloaded the ARM 7.1 gapps-package.
You can flash twrp or stock rom from 'mobile odin'. Or you can download flashable twrp.zip....but flashing stock ROM requires additional download
I solved the problem. The problem was recovery and i knew it. I downloaded the apk of TWRP App from their official website. It worked flawlessly. After that i Flashed Cyanogenmod 14.1 then gapps with the latest version of TWRP and perfect! Everything works without any problem. I hope this answer is helpful for the other people having the same issue.
