What a good camera mod - Verizon LG G3

Anyone using any of the camera mods that are out there for the g3?
I see the one from Jishnu is no longer being developed

Camera Mods or just other camera apps that have more settings exposed?
I've seen this camera mod that can up the frame rate on video's etc... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778570
Edit - here is another one that might be a little better..... http://www.droidviews.com/jishnus-camera-mod-for-lg-g3/
For a camera app substitute, I use A Better Camera. It exposes (no pun intended) a lot more settings like ISO control, White Balance, Exposure Compensation, Shooting Modes, etc, etc. All this with the free version of the app too. I haven't even tried the paid version yet!
I'm also using G3 TweaksBox module and have changed the stock "Long Volume Down" press to open ABC instead of the stock camera app. There may be other ways to do this, but since I'm running G3TB for other tweaks, it was simple to add this one too.

Nothing but media_profiles.xml modifications, and the only one that is out doesn't work.
i fixed the issue myself and im trying different values for other things now

As @sic0048 noted Jishnu is still working on a camera mod for the G3 - it's just now via that website rather than collaboratively through XDA. Probably some kind of marketing deal. I intend to give it a shot over the weekend. The comments indicated it might have some bugs but I want to see how the performance is in photography as far as shutter lag because that's my biggest complaint.

Do the camera mods work with all camera apps? As noted, I'm using A Better Camera app and would like to know if these mods will be usable with that app, or just the stock camera app. I also asked on Droidnews too.
Thanks!
EDIT - I got a near immediate reply from the developers and was told that the camera mods only effect the stock camera app. I guess I'll use the stock app for video use and ABC for photographs.

Camera broken

Been meaning to post this for quite some time but if it isn't already known my camera crahes as soon as you open the standard camera app. Never needed or opened my camera until now. Is there a different app I use or is the camera broken for my device?

Thanks!

Edit: found an app called fxcamera and camera works fine on it.
I will be using that from now on and replacing default camera in my builds.
Camera works great for me...
Did you ever determine if you have an AUO panel? I guess we can ask someone who we know has one and see if FXcamera fixes it.
I thought this was a paid app tho, FXcamera?
Nvm, it is free, just ad-supported.
I've tested FxCamera on my Rhod100. I selected normal mode.
At first I got a weird picture-in-picture effect: some parts of the camera image were shown at multiple places, some parts were scrambled... After 10 seconds the app hung and crashed. Re-opening FxCamera results in instant crash.
I have an AUO panel and the standard app, nor the fxCamera app works for me. I've read it before though, that the normal app doesn't work but fx does. I think I rad it in the viruscrazy thread.

Don't have an AUO, my phone doesn't inherit that xD haha
Normal camera app sometimes scrambles goes all different colours, shapes and crashes but usually just crashes.
As far as I can tell the fxcamera works fine in all conditions (even under water! Haha)

[APP] Panorama for Atrix (5MP support added)

A few days ago, I saw the "Sony Panorama Beta!" thread that allows other devices to use it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on Atrix as the app works only on NEONs. I searched for other alternatives and found out that the BlurCamera.apk from Droid X supports panoramic pictures. I downloaded the original file from here http://www.droidforums.net/forum/92...ix-update-panorama-assist-etc.html#post887590
The app actually worked without modification but I modified it for 2 reasons:
1. The package name is com.motorola.Camera which is the same as my stock Camera/Camcorder app and it is not as simple as replacing the stock Camera app in /system/app. I had to reset the data partition before my Atrix recognized it.
2. It has a lower resolution than the stock app. maximum resolution is 3MP only.
To avoid conflict, I changed the package name to “com.panorama.Camera” and the app name to “Cam-norama” (to distinguish it from the Camera app). I also removed the Launcher icon for the Camcorder since the stock Camcorder is better.
I experienced FCs when I opened "Settings" and "Switch to video" but it seems to happen only the first time after installation.
:::: By the way, the stock OlympusCamera.apk can be modified to take panoramic pictures but when I tried to start recording, I got an FC. The maximum resolution for panorama is also set at 3MP.
2011-06-29: Added BlurCamera5MP.apk to allow 5MP panorama. The highest resolution I got was 1889px height for a 2-frame shot compared to 1499px in 3MP mode. But the more frames you capture, the resolution gets lower. It should still be better than the 3MP version though.
I tried to set the panorama maximum as 5MP Widescreen but it seems like it takes lower resolution even if I select the 5MP as the current setting so I finally made it to allow 5, 3, 2 & 1 MP only.
I got it to install (and got the first time FC like you described), however I cannot find how to set it to take panoramic photos. I can take video and photos just fine.
EDIT: I'm silly, have to hit menu and then camera modes...
And now a beautiful [and kinda blurry D:] picture of my kitchen

Unless photaf has changed since I last used it a few months ago, it takes forever for photaf to stitch the photos together, and you have to really have a steady hand, otherwise it looks like crap.
Maybe I missed a setting, but I didnt like photaf. The best pano app Ive used is the one built into the SGS camera app

The app has a guide to help you take the next shot. It is also fast at stitching the pics together.
The app is great! i took a pic from my balcony. This took 4 shots. The far end pic on the right is my satellite. I didnt realize that I would hit it.

I accidentally pressed cam-orama camera icon while my phone was connected to my pc. When I unplugged the phone and tried the app, it reverted back to the old camera app. I tried restarting and it was still the same. I reinstalled the .apk and it was still the same. I clicked the cam-orama app again in the drawer and it worked. Perhaps this is a bug. It still works good and I posted the 2nd shot above after that bug that I encountered.
this works great! Thanks! Do you think higher-res photos are possible?
is it possible to apply any fix for old droid/milestone family too?

[Q] Neutrino Rom Camera app

Trying out all features of Neutrino V2.91 Rom
All seams great except camera is pretty basic quality.
HDR Camera app is alot better. Though has no zoom function.
Whats the best android camera app to take the best quality photos (indoors and outside) for the Atrix 4G?
Is it worth trying the blurcamera apk over the MUIU apk?
Idk about others but I use the stock GB camera app. Works great, simple settings and straight to the point. Start app and take pick. No long complicated settings or startup. Simple and fast

Camera 360. Enough said.
Thanks for the replies -
Do you have a link for a GB camera that will work with Neutrino?
I downloaded 3 and each starts installing and each fails..
Downloading 360 - seems to be as good as HDR but with ZOOM
[Camera 360 - HD,Effect,Zoom - SmartStar]
The GB camera is the stock camera app. I think it is already provided in the rom. Not sure since I haven used it in a while. Been on MROM a while now. Anyway if u like camera 360 you should stick with it. I have to admit it's a great camera app. I used to use it but I never has use for all the effects so I use the stock camera. FXcamera is also a good camera app..

Camera Apps
So far I've found these to be the best options
General - HDR Camera
Night - Night Camera (seems to work better in low light)
Panorama - ...?

Has any progress been made towards running the TW camera on AOSP ROMs?

Hi there! I recently found out that Siyah Kernel allows dual booting on the S3, so I took the plunge and used it to install RootBox as my second ROM. I'm quite happy with it, but I'd love to have the Samsung camera's features back - particularly, the HDR and low light modes.
Does a mod exist that allows the TW camera to work, or has there been any previous technical discussion of this that may help me in my quest to make one?
I tried to port it myself with my minimal modding skills, but it turned out to be more complex than I expected: the furthest I got was getting the Samsung camera UI to appear and then pop up "Camera failed". I broke camera functionality entirely for all other apps, too
I'm now [slowly] downloading the Android source to see if I can make the necessary modifications to make Samsung's camera libraries work, but in the meantime, I'd love to know if there's something I missed in my searches. All I found was an XDA thread requesting a port of the GS3 camera to the GS2, and a thread on another board which included some interesting info from someone who had tried porting the GS3 camera to AOSP but nothing I didn't already know.
Any info on this would be appreciated. Thank you!
I dont think anyone is even trying. The aosp mod 2.60 in themes section is good but I recommend installing camera 360 from play for effects and cool hdr
The hdr is only an effect though

I took that as a challenge and have been working on it nonstop since yesterday
I have the camera working on my modded ROM now, I'm hoping to release the ROM and the source patches (for applying to other ROMs) once I get more of the features working (I would like to at least fix Low Light and the Camcorder) and knock out a couple issues like the app launching the non-existent TW gallery to view photos.
Here's a video as proof. Apologies for the quality, but I couldn't find a decent screen recording app: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYX4PSVDiIU
Now that I'm here again, I may as well ask- where would the best place be to post this? It's related to both a modded app and a modded ROM so I don't know whether it would fit better in Development or Themes/Apps.
Themes and apps, definitely

best camera app for redmi note 4

I've tried many roms with many camera apps but couldn't find one in which, portrait mode, hdr+ and slow motion(however slow motion isn't important for me at all) are working.
The best app that I found was the stock crdroid camera but neither does it have portrait mode plus it's hdr is very slow.
Can someone please provide me the best app that just works and has the features i mentioned above.

I think that your experience with the gcam mods might be determined by the camera sensor on your phone. I have a Samsung sensor, and most of the mods work reasonably well (sometimes you have to tweak the settings). I have stayed with Arnova8G2 v6. It does FC sometimes, but it mostly good. The settings can be tweaked for improvements over default settings ("Auto"), but not all of them work well. If you choose very high resolution HDR settings, the shutter will be very slow - but the picture will be very good. I don't really use the portrait mode, so I can't comment on that. Before Arnova8G2, I used Cstark27 mods - and they were excellent too. But I think Arnova has the edge.
In any case, you can have a look at this repository of gcam mods.

I don't know of a straightforward way of getting that information. You will need to search the forum for that.
The method that I use is not straightforward. It depends on initd functionality, and this is not generally available in ROMs. Basically, I run dmesg from an initd script, and redirect the output to a file. I then parse the file and look for any of these;
1. "ofilm_s5k3l8" (sensor=Samsung)
2. "ofilm_imx258" (sensor=Sony)
3. "qtech_ov13855" (sensor=Omnivision)
You can of course run dmesg at any time from a root terminal. However, you need to capture the output early enough (i.e., during the bootup process) or the values you are looking for would be long gone.
PS: I don't know much about Kernel Adiutor - but it may be that it can help you to run the command to capture the necessary information, even without initd functionality. Maybe someone else can speak to that.

I'm on arnova v6 now and it's perfect. The only problem is that the front camera is mirroring/reversing the pictures I take which is incredibly annoying. Do you guys know of a system-wide or app limited tweak that can disable this? Or perhaps an alternative to this gcam which has that feature but also.has portrait mode and HDR+ working.

In these apps when you take a picture from the front camera, it is saved as mirrored as compared to the camera preview screen when you're positioning tot take the picture (for e.g a face looking at the left comes as right or vice versa). There is an option in the miui camera settings to disable this and also on most other camera apps. I want to disable this here too.
