Changelog
1.3.3:
DynamicAlarmIcon is now compatible with Lollipop (patches by @theknut).
Fixes for Timely on Lollipop (patches by @tonyp).
Added translations for German (by @theknut) and Slovak (by @Ja_som).
1.3.2:
More compatibility fixes for pre-KK devices.
Additional improvements to the TouchWiz style.
1.3.1:
Fix missing icon on start up.
Compatibility fix for 4.0-4.3.
TouchWiz clock style improvements.
1.3:
Better method to replace left side icons (for clock packages).
Added support for Google Clock and GentleAlarm (DynamicAlarmClock will also change their notification icons).
Compatibility fixes for Sense devices, by chrisch1974.
Better alarm change detection.
Added clock style preference: choose between the AOSP style and a TouchWiz-like style.
Added clock color preference.
1.2.1:
Quick fix for the alarm icon's space always being reserved (even when the icon should be hidden).
1.2:
Also modify DeskClock's (AOSP clock app) notification icons (DeskClock notifies you when an alarm is due in less than 2 hours).
Add short delay before changing the icon, should fix the issues with e.g. HTC's app which sends the ALARM_CHANGED broadcast before changing the NEXT_ALARM_FORMATTED system setting.
Always keep the right side alarm drawable (should fix issues with the icon changing back after a while).
1.1:
The hours hand will now move depending on the minutes too (this fixes e.g. "6:55" being seen almost like "5:55").
Added Timely support, should work with the latest Timely version (1.2.7). You may have to re-apply set alarms.
1.0:
Initial release.

Good mod. But can you make it so instead of the alarm clock it shows the alarm time in numbers? Or add it as an option? Thank u Btw.

So I changed my alarm but the hands don't change. Had to reboot for it to change.

Screenshot please

Would you mind adding the quantity [minutes/60] to the hour value so that it correctly moves the hand between the hours? For example, right now 6:30 has both hands facing directly down, whereas the hour hand should actually be at the 32.5 minute mark (to represent 6.5 hours). If that's not how you wanted it to be implemented, then so be it.

It works perfectly for me. Did you make sure to reboot?

Does this work with Timely by chance?

Found a bug: When i have few alarms and i set new before all - icon didnt change. I need to disable all alarms without that new and enable it again to have good icon.
But thats still Very good and funny idea!
Btw. If you wanna add setting. Please dont make icon in appdrawer like whatsapp Mods xposed module cus that module are very small.

I can't view that without logging in, and I don't have a box.com account.
You can just use a paste bin (e.g. bpaste.net or pastie.org) if you want, that's usually easier.
Also, what do you mean by "doesn't work"?

A reboot is necessary after installing the module. After that, the hands should change when you set an alarm, to point to the *nearest* alarm.

TIAS. It should work with any clock app that causes the top right status bar alarm icon to show.

@GermainZ, yes im sure.
BTW. You should add animation of change time. Like normal rotate hands in clock

Edit: Works after second reboot. Disregard the comments below.
Thanks for a prompt reply.
Sorry. Had no idea about having to have a box account - thought you could simply download the text file.
Here's the new link: http://bpaste.net/show/ffks4c8cL9CDfF3Movit/
By not working I meant showing unmodified alarm icon - it shows in the status bar, but the hands of the clock are stuck in the default position, not the time alarm was set to.
I rebooted the phone after installing your module. Do I need to do it more than once?
I have a bunch of other modules installed - could your module conflict with/be overridden by gravitybox? That's the only one that visually mods my phone, though it isn't explicitly set to affect the alarm clock icon in the status bar.
... moto x vzw ...

Lg g3....the alarm icon is not changed when timely is used to set the alarm. The icon is changed when the stock time/alarm app is used. However, in both cases, the alarm icon becomes unstable flashing on and off. I do have the g3 tweakbox module active as well.

Discreet (maybe a bit too much : the shape of the clock is a bit too "skinny" IMO) and elegant mod, that should/could be a stock feature. Working fine for me with a quick reboot (SGS4). Thanks. :good:

Loved the idea of this as I often forget the time I'd set for an alarm.
After setting an alarm it worked as expected with icon on right of status bar (where it should be imo).
I came back to tablet after an hour, woke it up and the icon had changed to standard default alarm icon. What's more after a while (possibly after another sleep/wake up) another alarm icon has appeared in the left notification side of the status bar - the normal alarm icon.
So now I have 2 standard alarm icons in the status bar, one on the left and one on be right.
I just did a soft reboot and your icon has corrected itself and the standard icon is still present on the left.

Works just fine, but seems to have a problem with clock hands for some times. It is ok for 5:40 and 7:15 but looks weird for 7:00, where it shows something like 5:55. There was another report about 6:30...
Edit: got the reason: you do not move the hour hand and my Samsung can set some smart alarm which starts a few minutes earlier with spherical sounds to gently wake you up. This makes 7:00 actually 6:57 and since hour hand does not move from its 6:00 position it looks like 5:57.

I'll look into supporting Timely. The flashing is stock behavior, it's not caused by this module.

This module doesn't touch the left side alarm icon. Maybe in future versions.
I'll look into the right side icon not being changed after a while.

I like the skinny look (compared to the stock icon look) - it provides room to add pixels for quarter or even hour ticks, though I would not really need this. What I would find funny is to have the regular clock in the status bar by replaced by an analog clock including a second's hand - with configurable colors for the hands - really only nice to have - but since the code for moving hands is already there (soon improved) and if OP needs another challenge, why not? It would also save a lot of space in the status bar, especially when you have added the seconds to the digital clock with another mod.

The flashing of the alarm clock icon in the status bar is not stock behavior. When I set any alarm with any alarm clock program on my lg g3, the icon appears in the status bar and is constant... It does not flash on and off.

Sure. Here's below the stock alarm icon in the status bar (SGS4, 4.4.2). I actually like the design of the clock much (shape, thickness) :
Now your alarm icon, set for 5:30, as one can see by the way in the widget at the bottom (showing the time of the next alarm, but without a dynamic icon there of course). My remark above shouldn't be taken as a criticism (always too easy in such cases), but rather the fact that, as far as I'm concerned, I regret that the stock icon design wasn't used in your mod.

Steps:
1) Please mount your system as read/write, extract the files in the attached zip file, and copy:

Make sure you are actually replacing the old file and not renaming it
2) Then reboot.
I included the original SystemUI.apk in the zip as a backup just in case.

Wi-Fi toggle, black status bar, stripped version
From sleevasteve - Here is a stripped version of the SystemUI.apk. Includes: Wi-Fi toggle, black status bar. Removed Icons: eGPS, Alarm, Battery, Bluetooth, Silent and Vibrate. I removed the battery icon, but you can enable battery % under display. And removing the Bluetooth, silent and vibrate indicators not only cleaned it up, but now you don't see a gap where the alarm icon was, when going into those modes. Tried to get rid of the ime indicator/switcher, but there must be another one hiding in there somewhere.

***Be sure to REMOVE the word "Stripped" from the file name, before pushing to system/app! The file name should just read: SystemUI.apk (sorry for the inconvenience, had to differentiate them on my phone, and on dropbox)

Thanks it worked for me as well....not sure if this happened to everyone, but the phone locked up right after i replaced the apk file. A battery pull and reboot and everything is well and good. I would assume this is normal behavior since the actual touchwiz UI was replaced while it was running. Just to warn anyone who might freak out when things go wonky.

Thanks for the mod! Now if only we could get rid of that nag in the notification drawer.
I might have been the one you were talking about that was discussing removing the eGPS icon, and I was also able to remove the alarm icon using the same methods. I downloaded hairdewx's zip (with the added Wi-Fi toggle) and removed the alarm and eGPS icon from it for my own personal use, but I'd be happy to post the systemUI with combined mods if anyone wants it(and if I get permission from OP). I just don't want to step on anyone's toes, I'm far from a developer.

You using ADB or root explorer? I replaced the file and the phone locked up, give it a minute and it will respond. I don't like pulling the battery unless absolutely necessary.
BTW, any chance of removing the stupid ongoing Wi-Fi off notification, or am I missing a setting here to toggle this?

Anyway to take some of those less used out of the Status Bar? Driving mode for example.

[MOd][Xposed]Xdual Statusclock

Now with "working" Lollipop!!!
This mode shows a second clock of a chosen timezone in your status bar. So if you are far from home or always need to know the hour on the other side of the world, you can use this mod. I made this being on an exchange semester and wanting to easily see the time at home.
It only has very basic functionality but I wanted to share it anyways. I am thinking about adding more features like custom layout for the clock, custom offset....
Currently I do not have much spare time to work an the mod but I will try my best to keep up. So if you find any bugs or glitches, please let me know.

Of course you need to have installed the XPosed framework to have this mod working. You can find the mod in the Xposed Repo or attached to this post.
Changelog:
26.July 2015 - Added support for Lollipop 5.0
26.Nov 2013 - Added support for 12-hour format
24.Nov 2013 - Added manual DST support and choosable divider between the clocks

@Jukka666
what about adding a countdown or rather time left to the next Alarm ? Would that be possible?
If not using the Android alarm clock which would be the best as far as Wake Locks go. Maybe something custom?
Adding really some timers (maybe how much work left)
I have bought 3 or 4 Alarm clocks and none has that functionality. Only in Notification Panel.
Having this in the Status Bar right next to the clock would be AWESOME.
(Stopwatch is maybe farfetched, and timer maybe not needed) I hope you understand what I mean.
Something like
oCurrent time is 14:14
Next Alarm is at 20:00
In status bar would be 14:14/>06:46
Maybe some icon showing the Alarm etc . Or maybe really just something simple and static. 14:14/20:00
These are just a suggestions NOT REQUEST's. (Sorry for the caps, but many wannabe Moderators/Recognized..."some nasty" words, are allergic to any suggestion and start crying about some new idea)
Thanks for the mod !

That is an interesting idea, worth thinking about.
What comes up my mind: Just plain text counting down to your next calendar event (or your custom set time of the day when you finish work) in form of "current time"|"time left" 12:08|00:52. I am not really into building Android apps, thats the first step I took, so im only guessing that this could use a serious amount of system power, since the status bar is refreshed quiet often... but when I find some time, I will look into it.

That's already more that I hoped for . Thanks even for considering.
Maybe the static time to the next event, not a countdown or timer. Just that you can set a static time. Or it will display as you said the time of the next Alarm/Event. Really doesn't have to be a countdown.
Thinking that might be less of a strain for PC and maybe you. As said just suggestions . Maybe this even exists somewhere.
But seriously I would love more to see the time of my next alarm more as the stupid Alarm Clock Icon .
Again thanks and I do not mind if this leads nowhere, if it does even better.

For center clock, you should try XBlast tools, as I am not doing an all-in-one module.
I will look into the date-thing, this could be easy to implement. Also the mod should work on kitkat if you got your xposed working.

Updated to 1.1. Update should be awailable in the xposed installer.
If you check the DST option, the second clock will show an hour later. Thats if the other place you want to show uses Daylight Saving Time.
Also you can now choose different seperation symbols between the two clocks.

Does it change nothing in the status bar or does the app with the settings not work? Did you reboot? Module activated in XPosed?
Are you running a stock Samsung Rom? Maybe they use a different method then AOSP, so my hook wont work.
Can you add an option to enable/disable 24 hour mode of the clock (for home clock) ?

I guess it does not work becouse of touchwiz... I am sorry, but currently I don´t have the time to add support for a different Rom type. Maybe you can ask here if he can add this function. It is not to much effort and if he needs, I can provide him with my code.
Again sorry!
Hi, thanks for your fast response !
Maybe option to enable small/capital am/pm AM/PM, or show none (am/pm) at all, just the clock (eg. 7:00)

Maybe option to enable small/capital am/pm AM/PM, or show none (am/pm) at all, just the clock (eg. 7:00)

Updated to new version. Now supporting 12-hour format. currently it is am/pm or none, maybe I will add the option to select AM/PM.
Is it possible to use space as separator?

It's not supposed to do anything with the navigation panel (yet!), which includes that little arrow.
I don't own an M8. If you know how to grab the HtcLockScreen.apk, you can send it to me and I'll take a look to see if I can fix the icons alignment.
Glad to hear the rest is working fine.
Btw, what does that little arrow do on M8 lockscreen? The one at the bottom in navigation panel.

I might also [try to] add a function for hiding/manipulating the NavBar when I find time.

its the same...i think it may have framework issues with m8 i know when i talk with the toolbox guys the m8 gets the dialer white bar issue and m7 doesnt and cant be fixed as easy as m7 was, maybe same?!
*thanks for giving a try buddy, i was first to install and try as i liked the mod alot but its still ok...i have everything disabled and from lockscreen it swipes and opens BF, recent app right and left(is it supposed to do that still?, thought the disable was to stop that also)

Hmm, strange. Lockscreen apks are almost the same so I just force enabled the NavBar on my M7 and then fixed the issue on my phone. But still as you said it might be because of deeper differences in the framework. Thanks for trying, I'll update you if I got my hands on an actual M8 and fixed it.
Do you see the left and right arrows while dragging the lock icon? Or just the vertical one?

Ok gotcha. That's coming directly from the kernel and the rom and has nothing to do with the lockscreen per se as far as I know. M7 doesn't have those extra gestures, but I guess you can disable them from settings > display, gestures > motion lunch gestures
Can you also check the Xposed Installer Logs and look for "Shortcut panel original bottom margin: xx"?
If you see such lines please read me the numbers.

AOD Customizer Module [UPDATE: 11.20.18 v1.0.2]

This is a simple yet cool module to customize the AOD Display on the Galaxy S7. Only S7 is supported currently because that is the phone that I currently own and can test with.
Whats it do?
As of 3.8.18:
- Allows for a text label to be displayed below the icon. This text label is of the "title" parameter from the notification itself. If the notification uses a "RemoteViews" layout, then the "title" parameter will be empty and no label is shown. It works great with Textra SMS and Snapchat to show who they are from. I can customize each notification per app but need a list of apps to further support.
- The text label is fully customizable, text color, size, and maximum width are fully adjustable.
UPDATE: 6.22.18
- Added a crap ton of stuff.. See screenshots
To Do:
- I might add long press on icon to clear notification (if this is possible, I think it is though.) <- Not possible
- Also, possibility for full customization of the clock and positioning of everything. As of now, the defaults are fine with me personally <- Still thinking about this, might make it so you can literally make your own
- Music controls always on bottom of display (maybe) <- Moved to below notifications due to reasons

s8+
Hi
I have an s7 (SM-G930F) but with the AOD layout I have... the text is almost completely gone.
For ideas you can maybe look at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/themes/mod-galaxyxmod-t3410719
All I miss is the grouping of same notification. For example: I loved too see the Facebook-notification-icon with just the number of notifications below that. Instead of like 4 separate notifications-icons.
And maybe how it could add a picture to any AOD layout.

Thanks!

Hmm, my layout did that the first time too, but I fixed. Can you send me your aodservice apk? Also sorry for the "PIZZA TIME" that was my default if a title couldn't be retrieved xD I thought I got rid of it, guess not xD.
As for the grouping, I saw in the code, there seems to already be a method there. I will see why its disabled but I can always add my own.
But what I am understanding - 5 people message you via Facebook messenger, you want one icon (the apps default notification icon) with how many notifications that app has below it? I can do that, thats quite easy. I prefer having all 5 expanded with the names, so I can reply to one. Would you also like an "expanded view" option? Say you double click on the icon, and a new window pops up with the individual notifications present? Or maybe a triple click, or even a swipe down gesture?
Replacing image is no problem, just know that it will consume battery faster when a non black and white image is present.
Hope you can add s8 support someday, it looks kinda cool

What is not working? I need more info than this.. an xposed log would be helpful too.
Working for galaxy a5 2017 as well
ok it works on s8+.
Thanks for this great module!
Suggestion for future function: add a second or even third line of notification icons instead of the plus sign on stock.
My device is s8+.

Do you know how many notifications are required before that plus is created? I noticed in the code a "Max notifications" variable. Adding the feature of multiple lines shouldn't be too difficult

Wow I see my screenshot was pretty big.. Didn't see that on my mobile
Didn't even see the "'PIZZA TIME' either.
I see in your second post you already do grouping? That looks good.
"you want one icon (the apps default notification icon) with how many notifications that app has below it?"
I don't really understand this one, but if I get 2 notification I would like to see 1 icon with: (2).
"Would you also like an "expanded view" option? Say you double click on the icon, and a new window pops up with the individual notifications present? Or maybe a triple click, or even a swipe down gesture?"
Sound good. But double tap is already a function on the icon's. So maybe long press or something? Or make it an option in what way to acitvate?
AOD apk is attached.

Haven't noticed yet, will check when I wake up in the morning, that's when I have a lot of notifications. Lol
Lol, took me 10 mins, still haven't figured out how to attach a screenshot.
Anyways, only 4 icons were shown before the + sign was introduced, but I think that's because my icons ass more spaced out due to long titles(didn't use title wrap in the app), and out of the 4, 2 were grouped notifications. Hope this is useful.

Yep! Its definitely 4! I found the code. Now just gotta figure out how to add a new row.. Shouldn't be too bad. Just gotta find time. Have a paper due and an exam on Friday.
Also, for the notification title that is really long, I can make it so it scrolls across instead of wrapping (i think, things behave differently in AOD due to making sure the device can deep sleep)

Great idea for the scrolling titles!
But can you make it optional, because not everyone would want it that way.

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

UPDATE: What's new?
EB_CD_1.2_BETA:
* Adjusted the curve at left corner by 1 pixel, because every pixel matters!
* Fixed issues with 'Status Bar' mode - portrait to landscape switching/auto-hides.
EB_CD_1.2.1_BETA:
* Minor Bug fixes
Hey Guys! If you try the App, please leave a review on Google Play Store, it will be really helpful, thanks!
Hi. Great app. S8+ it doesn't curve all the way. Corners cut off on one side left or right. Or both if centred.

Thanks!
And the apparent cut is the intended behaviour of the App. As the description says, Energy Bar's width represents your current battery level. If it covers entire width of your phone, it means your battery is at 100%. As the battery depletes Energy Bar shrinks as well.
In centre origin, the depletion happens from either edge of the phone.
Nice one thanks. I'll rate in Google for you.
What's new in EB_CD_1.3_BETA ?
* The curves just got smoother, the smoothness level will depend on the thickness you choose.
* The 'Merged Segments' and 'Gradient' color configurations now displays mirrored, as expected in 'center' origin.
Hey Guys! If you try the App, please leave a review on Google Play Store, it will be really helpful, thanks!
Thanks like it a lot.Samsung S8+
Can you implement some sort of burn-in prevention? There will always be a part of the bar which remains the same throughout the day and that might cause burn-in over time. Other than that the app is awesome!

Will look into it, for now try switching up the origin/colors/color modes.
What's new in EB_CD_1.4_BETA?
* Fixed internal crashes.
* 'Hotfix' for Energy Bar disappearing randomly, it's based on remote devices' feedback. Thanks for the patience. Please uninstall current version > reboot phone > Install latest version, this will make sure that there are no traces of Energy Bar running from previous version.

Hi! Thanks for trying the App. There is actually an exclusive version of the App for Galaxy Note 8, it is better adapted for the curve of Note 8 among other optimisations. Try it out - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=you.in.spark.energy.curved.note8

Displaying a numeric percentage goes completely against the philosophy of visual battery indicator, so it will never be added to this App. Hope that makes sense.

Nice app! I only wish for 2 things:
* make option to make bar wider, at least by couple of pixels. I also have CPU meter at top and it shows a pixel-or-two gap in between. I am aware this is only on my setup, but this wouldn't hurt nothing
* option to make bar all the way to the end ALWAYS visible and distinguish full/empt yonly by color! It means the bar and the left/right curve would always be visible, but full percetnage would be i.e. red and emptied percentage blue, etc
Thanx
D.
