If I was to buy replacement batteries for this bad boy, would I have to worry about the battery having wireless charging capabilities? It appears that I wouldn't since the charging mechanism is built into the phone? I was about to order the Caseology battery but someone asked if it was capable of wireless charging and it says that it isn't. I thought that might me a mistake?

Battery is just that....a battery. The phone has wireless charging capabilities. It's the battery cover that you have to worry about. Without the proper sticker on the battery door, there is no wireless charging.

It will charge the battery. Phone can't distinguish what brand battery it is. Like I said, a battery is a battery.

The OP probably asking because there are some phones, like the Galaxy S3, where the NFC receiver is actually part of the battery.

Yes, but if someone has experience with NFC being housed in the battery, I don't think it's a strange question to think wireless charging might be too.

Wow, you sure like to argue where there's really no point at all.
I was just trying to be helpful and brought up the fact that there are phones where the wireless connection (NFC) is built into the battery. So a battery is NOT always just a battery, as you noted incorrectly earlier in this thread.

You come off as argumentative for very little reason... maybe be sure you understand what people are saying first before you comment back. Might seem less argumentative and more of a "discussion" at that point. Btw, saying things like "it's called a discussion" makes you come off as snooty and argumentative... [emoji106]

Hi everybody. I have a little question; I'm looking for an extended battery for my T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2. I had some Chinese crap for a while, but it started to completely die on me. At first I went two days on a single charge and do some mad texting and browsing the internet a few times a day for 20-some minute periods. Now, this battery lasts me half of the day just to have the phone on Stand By.
I have a cover identical to this one; mien is not sold anymore http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300432340749&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Now, I really need a new battery for my T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro2, but I also don't want to spend more than $40 with shipping, on it. Any help?? Thank You Guys For Your Help!!
Addition: I want something above 3200 mAh
I haven't seen anything of such a capacity. But you can obtain the item# 180463578660 from ebay.com (sorry I'm not allowed to post links), try it and let us know whether it's a crap, too

Thanx!! As far as I can tell, this is a cheap Chinese battery. I wouldn't be surprised if it dies 1 month down the road. My battery that I have now looks just like this one, if it is not the same as this. Thank You Though!!
Anybody else??

Whoa! That's a lot of mah's. I bet a HTC battery like this one...
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=38477&cat=4592

Of course your cover may not work, and would need this one to go with the HTC battery.

Neither of above given will work with T-Mobile's HTC TP2. I called, to verify.

I can't find any extended batteries for the GSM phones.
The only two suggestion I have, is do what I do. I have a spare OEM battery that gets charged in a cradle. I will take it with me if I fear a dead battery before I can find somewhere to charge back up. And I have one of these in my laptop bag as a redundant source for charging.

That cover won't work with the T-mobile US version. The US version has a very shallow cover, whereas all other models have a large wrap-around cover. You might be able to get the cover for the Mugen battery and use it with some other large battery.

That one won't work with T-Mobile US. It is a special case back.
There is only one option custom made for T-Mobile
That is the Mugen 3200, it is $79.

Anyone know if the I9100 battery will fit the I777? I see a lot of sellers listing the battery working for both the AT&T I777 and the International I9100.

I got the 2000 mah anker battery off eBay works great! !!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA Premium App
The dimensions for the i777 Samsung battery are 59x46x5 mm. I searched and couldn't find dimensions anywhere for the i9100 oem battery. Anyone with i9100 mind measuring the battery dimensions? I hate to order a bunch of stuff only to find it doesn't fit. I don't 100% trust the descriptions on most of the ebay stuff.
Do the I9100 batteries have 3 or 4 contacts? If only 3, they probably won't work, or might damage the additional spring clip in the phone for the 4th contact. (which, if the I9100 batteries only have 3 contacts, means the 4th is for NFC.)
Let me help you guys out here. I ordered 3 international gs2 batteries 2 months ago in preparation for this phone and they work just fine in the att version. the dimensions are exactly the same and everything has been just peachy.

I don't see 2000mah on ebay, just 1900mah for anker battery.

It MAY or MAY NOT fit, but I can tell you that the NFC antenna in the SGH-I777 (ATT GalaxyS 2) is embedded into the battery. So even if the battery contacts do match, at the very least you'll lose the ability to do NFC. And further, if Samsung messed with the voltages or signalling on the pins (which they might have done in order to get the NFC antenna hooked into the mainboard), you could potentially fry your phone. Instantly, or maybe even over time...
Until further work is done to figure out exactly what goes on what pin, and how it compares to the i9100, I wouldn't use an i9100 battery if I were you...
I got this battery with a dock charger and it works fine but when I plug it in to anything (computer/usb or power/usb) it freezes the phone and makes it cycle the battery charging/phone off symbol while the battery(?) makes a very quiet clicky sound. Not good. So I started charging it on the dock (came with a spare battery charging slot) and carrying it as an extra. It works fine, just don't charge your precious AT&T Galaxy S2 with it.
I did the shot at this angle so you could see the contacts, I saw some mention of it. My bad on the upside-down hah.

I know you didn't ask me, but it outputs 500mA per the specs from the paper on the box.

That is just too slow. Wireless charging would be ideal in the future when it becomes vastly available within open areas not only limited to the small charging pad, but as of now it just does not have any advantages in comparison to a standard micro USB cable; more faster, portable, direct access to storage while charging, and most abundantly available.
Well, it does have the advantage of being convenient. I would just drop it off the pad overnight.
Otherwise, yeah, it has some room to grow. A lot of the problem is that quite a bit of electricity is wasted currently.

Its more of a convenience than anything at this time. I've got 2, one sits by my desk at work, the other on my nightstand at home. Its great at work. If you get a call you can just snatch it up quickly without having to worry about the cord, and same deal at home, don't have to worry about breaking the USB port on them early morning alarms.

It's not that slow, why do people seem to keep complaining about it? If ur getting less than 5 hrs sleep at night, and ur battery is under 20% when you do shut down for the night, then yeah, you may have some difficulty with this.
Wireless charging has been just slightly faster than usb charging for me. I think that with that rate and the convenience added, it is more than worth it. I was concerned about it before I got the phone, but after testing it, the battery life is double what I'm used to, so I just don't need to charge it as often. I use my phone quite a bit through the day, of the charger at 5:30 this morning, no charging during the day and I'm still at 45%.

Really is there any wireless charger available for any mobile phone..?
If the phone supports inductive charging and/or has an inductive charging back that can be used.
I ordered the LG wireless charger but verizon accidentally sent me the nokia one. I actually like the nokia one BETTER as it is smaller and is black in color. It seems to work well. It def doesn't charge as fast as my wired charger but wireless charging is very fast as well. I took a 10-15 minute shower and it went up 5% which isn't too bad.

It's perfectly safe. Lithium batteries lose accuracy over cycles. They are best stored charged than depleted.

There is a chip in battery that prevent from overcharging, but phone will be almost all time hot, what is not good. It probably make it live short (phone and battery).
For this kind of using better search for a micro PC - Raspberry Pi or somethink like that.
Hello Guys, i want to know to know if i can Turn off Fast charging - because i want to have a longer Battery Life,
Also i know that IT IS Kernel related and also i could Change the Adapter too..
I Just want to know if there is a way to turn it of Kernel wise.
Why would you want that? It's only charging fast 0-50%, later on it slows down. If you really want to save battery, charge it as often (and short) as possible. If you needed to charge it quickly, you'd regret crippling the charging speed.

Exactly. Silly to turn it off. It's a benefit.
But if you really don't want to use it, just don't use a Quick Charger plug. Get some "normal" charger plug like for a flip phone.
We have tons of people asking why is my phone not quick charging (usually because it's in the last 20%, where it doesn't charge as fast), and instead you want to cripple that feature?
Or people ask why does this phone have QuickCharge 2.0 charger instead of QuickCharge 3.0 charger?
But you want NO QuickCharge. OK.
Just don't use a QuickCharge chargers. You can get "regular" chargers on eBay for like $2 or $3, because no one else wants them. Even QuickCharge are only about $5 if you know where to look, but you don't want those.

an option to de-activate Q-Charge if you need it or not would be optimal for me
You can always use Qi wireless charging pads for slow charging, then plug in when you need QuickCharge.
Plus there's tons, hundreds, of inexpensive "regular" plug chargers on eBay or other online sites.
To be honest, in my opinion I don't think a dev is going to waste time trying to disable something that is useful and everyone wants. People complain when they aren't QuickCharging, not when they are.
Plus, that would be so hard to track down if someone accidentally disabled QuickCharge.

Show me a screenshot of that on Samsung stock ROM. My sister's S6 doesn't have that on her Samsung phone. Or I've never seen it.
____
OK just researched and see Samsung added it with Marshmallow to some phones. But since I think It's a somewhat silly idea, I would never go looking for it.
S7 edge, S8+ and note 8 have.

I agree, I would not disable it. I'm using the Samsung convertible wireless fast charger that Samsung gave away with Note8 pre-orders on my V30. Yes I know it doesn't fast charge the V30 but it charges it in fairly quick amount of time.

When asked questions, I try to give facts as I know them.
Sometimes I give my fact-based opinion.
Sometimes I just give my opinion, based on experience.
Point is, messing with Android for the past 8 years, I've found...
Not everything an OEM does is smart. Like removing headset jacks or making batteries smaller.
Not everything users ask for is smart. I remember a few years ago on Nexus 5 (which had a too small battery) one user kept asking how to REMOVE the battery indicator from the status bar on an AOSP ROM. They didn't want to see battery percentage whatsoever in the status bar, and were quite adamant about it to developers. I guess so they could be TOTALLY SURPRISED when their phone suddenly died? I don't know. It didn't make any sense.
