can't post in the original thread yet (too n00b) otherwise i would have...
anyway, i'm diggin' the ics-senseless ROM from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640091
but i wanted 4g. you can't see it in the ics settings, and there is no quick setting for it either.
however, the widget 4g toggle here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jasoncalhoun.android.toggle4g
works just fine on evo 3d.
you still WILL NOT see '4G' icon in your status bar, but if the 3g disappears and goes blank, you'll have 4g connected. this lack of status indicator does not bother me much. i usually run a quick Speedtest check anyway to see what kind of throughput i'm getting.
Ok yesterday I installed about 6 roms we have for the i717 that are somewhat new(4.1.2)
The roms i'm looking for i want them to show the H, H+, 3g like King Kang oct-17 rom. I also prefer the settings layout kinda small and everything on one page, I guess that's ICS's settings layout where it has the Rom settings, Paranoid settings. Right now I'm on the Super stock Oxeded rom(looks the same as stock to me) Although it has the 4g icon but you can't tell if you're on 3g as for me i've been seing 4g icon all day but when I was on King Kang rom it bounces from 3g, H, then stays on H+.....
Here are the roms i've X out as not for me:
1.King Kang. Love the signal icons, love the settings UI. BUT yesterday the lockscreen pin was so buggy, when I would press a button it would input the wrong numbers. So i couldn't get into my phone I had to just install a diff rom, This rom also makes my screen flash, at one point i couldnt make calls or recieve calls(I'm on straight talk, might been a APN issue)
2. Quincyatt oct24-12 rom. Doesn't show any signal icons. other than that it was ok.
3.collective rom. I just didn't like the theme of the rom. I'm not a fan of custom icons and all that other fancy mess of changing names of some settings you are looking for.
4. Black Star rom. doesn't show any signal icons. no paranoid settings. It's a cool black n white settings but everywhere you look you see "BlackStar" it's even in the notification bar.
5. GovCheez rom. Doesn't show the signal icons. I like the setup on this rom.
6.cookie and cream rom. no signal icons. has paranoid settings so that's good. not a fan of the bootup animation either.
To me it seems like you may want to learn how to theme a Rom and make a theme to your liking. That or learn how to make a Rom with the features that you want.
What kind of signal icon u trying to see?

Im currently on Black★STAR ix and i get 3g,H,H+,etc icons for signal. If you would take the time to read the OP and through the thread you would also realize that there are flashable themes for stock and so on. Plus now there is the OTA feature through the settings menu. Just take your time and read and don't forget "search" is our friend

My galaxy note is my best friend
Seems you need a new friend. Really all the post provided to you seem good to go, sounds like you want something cosmetic, there are threads for this type of mod you want to have and or displayed. Sure that is part of the want of a ROM, me I want stability and something that can handle the stress I put my device thru...how it looks well I will take those mentioned over looks any day just me, hope you find what you are looking for, thanks.
Thanks to @homeslice976 this is working on trickdroid, insertcoin & arhd roms so far !!!!
http://d-h.st/Pbp
I just received permission from the creator of this MOD to allow other devs to include his work inside the ROMS so if anyone wants to you are allowed to baked in the ROM
1. fix native hotspot
2. fix wifi password
3. it get rid of the AT&T carrier label in the status bar
4. it doesn't have persistent icons when wifi is on
5. disbles nfc icon
6.THE BEST PART FOR ME AT LEAST YOU WILL STAY WITH AT&T SIGNAL ICONS
MUST WIPE CACHE AND DALVIK BEFORE REBOOT
confirmed working in following ROMS
1. trickdroid
2. insertcoin
3. arhd
THANKS @homeslice976 !!!!
i had to remove the link since it has trickdroid specific stuff on it i will try to talk to homeslice to fix it sorry guys
link back up guys
YOU WILL LOSE EQS AND OTHER ENHANCEMENTS MADE IN SYSTEM UI SINCE THIS IS COMPLETELY STOCK NOW
this is based on SystemUI from 1.29.401.16 stock, and att's 1.26.502.10 ext.jar
I was able to grab it before you took it down.
I'm on Trickdroid, I saw you mentioned it messes with the battery icon, I run the Blue circle theme, if it doesn't affet that I want to run since I prefer AT&T icons(running international rom right now to get tether workking)

sorry I won't discuss about the fix any more till i can get it right but if you flash a battery mod after the fix if the battery mod doesn't mess with anything else it will work

to elaborate on this - battery icons and the data icons are located in SystemUI.apk. If the battery mod you're using replaces SystemUI.apk in it's entirety, it's going to break the ATT data icons. If the battery mod you're using uses a script that only injects the necessary icons/files, rather than the whole apk, it won't break the ATT data icons.
I have a stock 401.16 base downloading now which I'll base the mod on. This means it will work with any ROM based on this build, however you'll lose any other mods that the chef/dev of your ROM has included (including but not limited to EQS).

Well I flashed the fix then I flashed TrickTheme and it didn't break the WiFi fix. It did change the signal icon but tethering is working so I am happy and the WiFi and signal icons aren't on at the same time

Oh actually I still have EQS as well.

Well I flashed the theme after the fix so I just assumed I lost the toggles when I flashed the fix and got them back when i re added the theme. I am not the biggest fan of the signal icon I have now but its very accurate. I just went for a long drive and it switched from H to 3g to LTE seamlessly. I am used to guessing my signal strength or running speed tests.
Oh I have the AT&T 4G LTE pngs with white signal bars from a ROM I did on my Note 2 if you need them but they probably need to be resized. I did the all white when AT&T was using that yellow. The all white is much better but the 3 signal bars look good in blue as well. I wish I kept more of the stuff I did

link back up guys read the op first
I'll wait till it's integrated into trickdroid, I like EQS
Mornin' folks,
I just unlocked and rooted my m7. Still on stock ROM. There's a new icon on my notify bar next to the 4G icon. It looks like a stylized 'N'. It won't go away and I can't find any reference to it. Anybody know what this is?
Thanks!!
Never mind, it's for NFC, mods, please close

It's for NFC. You can turn it off in Settings>Wireless & Networks.
thanks Shark!
I have an AT & T M9 with the Developer Edition, and I would like to have in the notification bar instead of just 4GLTE LTE. Is there any way to do it.
but something like without xposer (4G/LTE Switcher)

In /system/customize/acc/default.xml, change the sku_id
7 is ATT
11 is tmo
42 is the wwe one (401 bases) etc. for the generic HTC icons
pretty sure its still the same havent done it for a while tho, just find the default.xml and scroll towards the bottom and you will see the sku_id and change it
