Anyone have test result for this yet? I missed out on the Nexus 4, but this seems slick as well and has LTE which could come in handy on Jan 2013 when Tmobile refarm their LTE

No HSPA for Tmobile only EDGE for the DNA because Tmobile has to use 1700Mhz instead of 1900Mhz for UMTS...AT&T will get HSPA
Yes it will work, BUT, only in a select few cities that T-Mobile has already switched to 1900mhz. So I'd check if your area has switched to 1900 first or you will be stuck on edge.

This is just not true. My speeds aren't anything special but they're totally usable. I will try more areas as they're still only testing it here in Houston.

I was using Solavei (MVNO of T-mobile) and in the video link below, you can see my SpeedTest.net test. From Houston as well, but towards the outskirts. My apt has about half the signal strength of surround areas for every carrier. Not a complete dead zone by far though.

My secondary phone is a Galaxy Nexus with the $30 prepaid plan from T-Mobile. I live in the Mundelein / Vernon Hills area of Illinois. If I run speed test on my Nexus right now (doing it as I type this) I get the following download results:
T-Mobile Galaxy Nexus:
1st Test: 7.2Mbps
2nd Test: 6.1Mbps
3rd Test: 4.2Mbps the third time. Kind of afraid of running it a fourth time the way it's going. . .
4th Test: 5.8Mbps
If I put my SIM card on the DNA (actually shows a H logo which I'm guessing is for HSPA) here are my results:
T-Mobile Droid DNA
1st Test: 3.7Mbps
2nd Test: 5.0Mbps
3rd Test: 5.4Mbps
4th Test: 5.0Mbps
Just for fun here are my results with Verizon LTE:
1st Test: 3.7Mbps
2nd Test: 3.162Mbps
3rd Test: 2.8Mbps
4th Test: 7.2Mbps
Normally I do get much better LTE speeds than that but that's what I got today. Just for the record, at no point did I change any settings anywhere, I just switched the SIM cards.

I was not aware they were switching to 1900 that is awesome, I might have stayed with unlimited Tmo that being the case...
"T-Mobile USA launched HSPA+ service in its 1900 MHz spectrum in 10 additional markets including Miami; Phoenix; San Francisco; Mesa and Tucson, Ariz.; Modesto, Oakland, San Jose and Stockton, Calif.; and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The new markets bring T-Mobile's 1900 MHz HSPA+ footprint to 15 metro markets including the previously announced markets of Baltimore; Houston; Kansas City; Las Vegas and Washington D.C."

my biggest problem with t-mobile wasn't speed, but building penetration. I work in a hospital and no one on t-mobile gets signal unless they are standing against an outside wall. Just doesn't cut it.

Yep... I got outgoing working by forcing the MMSC in GoSMS.
I actually know someone who can hard code the MMSC into an app for us if there is interest. Should send/receive and be JB AOSP based.

I have my rezound on the leaked Global update rom on Simple Mobile $40 plan. I am in Indianapolis, Indiana and moving soon to
Denver Colorado... I want to have speeds better then Edge. Does Indianapolis, Indiana or Denver Colorado areas have the ability to use something better then Edge speeds for data? Do I need to wait for the ATT spectrum that Tmobile got as part of the break up of the merger? Tired of edge....

does anyone have simple mobile in Denver Colorado and have a rezound on it? Are you getting any 3g or better speeds. If so how did you get the better speeds? I read that Denver has been refarmed as someone with an iphone 5 has 3g service. I will be moving to Denver on March 1 so just wanting to see... I am in Indianapolis which so far i only have edge speeds... unless i need to edit something....
The only way it would work is if you could get a plan using att network through simple plan and do the radio edits described in the link above. Otherwise, gl until T-Mobile launches there new platform.

i am updating to htc one this week and am pretty pumped to see this thread and hope lte will be here soon. but i did call tmo recently and they said there was no lte here in the valley. i came across a htc one x+ but I sold it because i was mostly receiving edge speeds due to the fact that it was an unlocked att device.

I am getting T-Mobile today. I am in the Collegeville area (between Reading and King of Prussia) so I'll let you know what I get.
In Reading I was able to pickup 3G on my AT&T version so it's being refarmed. In philly i was able to pickup LTE, but I'm in 29palms now so nothing but edge here.
Granted I'm using the AT&T version unlocked and on the $30 prepaid.
I get 4G LTE from T-Mobile in the 19426 and 19406 area codes. That is Collegeville/Trappe and King of Prussia.
Just picked up some very weak LTE in Allentown near MLK blvd. Got about 7 Mbs down and 10 Mbs up on a quick speedtest.

I, too, take this as good news. While this might not help our current devices in any way, at least I know that my next device in 2yrs should have pretty awesome service by that time.
And with the increase in network speed, I'm hoping that more customers migrate/return to Sprint, and ensuring that we keep truly unlimited data. Not unless they get greedy...

Sounds interesting, but I remember thinking the same thing 2 years ago... I really want to give Sprint the benefit of the doubt but it's tough when my wife is getting 30 mbps down with at&t while I'm lucky to get 3 sitting right next to her. It kinda defeats the purpose of having unlimited data if you're limited in what you can do with it.

Almost every single tower in the country will get 1900MHz LTE. The TDD LTE came out of the Clearwire acquisition and won't effect the rollout of the LTE that your phone can use.
TDD LTE will have higher speeds but a much shorter range, and is designed to compliment, not replace, the 1900 (and eventually 800) MHz LTE.

So does that mean it's capable but Verizon hasn't enabled it? I'm not sure how I'd tell the difference on my end. My speeds are hit and miss in the Chicago area, but I figure that could be just because of the population density.

There's an AWS thread in the Verizon S4 section where people are reporting where they are getting band 4 lte. You can check there to see if anyone from Chicago has AWS. There's also instructions on how to check if your on band 4, you can probably check it the same way on this phone.

Installed the new radio only on my Verizon Max. Can't say it is particularly faster ( based on speed tests). It keeps starting at 60 Mbps for upload then hangs and drops to about 5 Mbps final. Maybe its my firewall or any other number of protective mods I have going on my Max.

I have gotten 4g LTE with this method I guess...I never did get the one value with the "sku id" (never could find it) so I downloaded an app from the play store called Network and just changed it, I would get LTE for about an hour then it would just crap out so I just use 3G and HSPA with the 1900 band.
I would be interested in knowing how to enable this. big red just turned on the 4g in my area with in the last year. so i am curious if they used a newer style tower capable of the band 4 or not,
