I used to run Cyanogenmod on my S3 (I9300), but yesterday the phone suddenly powered off and refused to go past the Galaxy SIII splash-screen after powering it on, so I decided to wipe the device via recovery but that didn't help at all. After many failed wipes, formats and flashing of different ROMs, I decided to go back to stock Sammy. I downloaded stock 4.3 from Samfirmware and successfully installed it using Odin.
The phone powered on after wiping the data using the stock recovery, but using it is an absolute hell!
The phone keeps powering off by itself and it's not responsive or fast at all. It takes the phone half a minute to power on the display after pressing the power or home button, when scrolling through a list, it freezes for about a minute and did I mention the sudden power offs?
Help me out, please.
Try to flash again with odin, but this time use a full rom(pda+modem+csc) and pit file:

I recently flashed the new ICS Passion v11 and this first flash was giving me problems...so I went back into recovery and wiped data, cache partition, and Dalvik cache. I accidentally messed up and rebooted before reinstalling the .zip file and now my Vibrant is stuck at the first boot screen and will not go into cwm recovery. So is there any hope left for my phone? Please help!
Don't worry. Just flash back to stock using Download mode.

I tried getting into download mode but it still just keeps cycling the same Vibrant boot screen. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but if I'm not mistaken it is Vol Down + Power right?
Few things.
First. Under your avatar is a Verizon picture. Are you using the Vibrant or the Facinate? They are different and Facinate ROMs don't work on Vibrant phones and vice versa.
Second. See below.
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.

Yes, I am using the Vibrant. I was with T Mobile but I switched to Verizon. I was planning on giving this phone with ICS Passion flashed on it to a friend of mine who is still with T Mobile. Thanks for the post about how to get into download mode. I will try it as soon as I get some time to mess with it today.
I have answers!
Hey. I was having this exact problem and I solved it!
Basically, when it goes into a bootloop, all you have to do it take out the battery, pop it back in, and reflash it again. I had this problem for almost all my flashing even odin'ing back to froyo I had to do twice because it froze.
Here was my process:
I went through the process of going into going to Froyo with Odin (twice sometimes if it froze) then flashing CM7(Twice because of a boot loop) and then flashing ICS PAssion V12 (Twice because of boot loop)
Now it works perfect! Also, no need to wipe data/factory reset/cache partition/dalvik cache after coming out of the bootloop. simply take out the battery, go back into recovery and flash it again. should work!

It's Vol Down + Vol Up + Power. then you can let go as soon as you see the word "Vibrant" in white. should take you into recovery
Thank you to everyone that helped me out, especially to you Woodrube. Your post really helped me get things going. I finally got my phone into download mode and flashed back to the stock Eclair firmware with Odin. I then went back into recovery, flashed CM7, and proceeded to flash ICS Passion v11. It took me a couple of tries with all of this because I figured out that the ICS update file somehow got corrupted (Possibly when I flashed the stock rom?), so I just re-downloaded the file and flashed and it worked fine.
Samsung E11058
My samsung E1105T freezes on samsung startup, i know this kind of question has been answered but since i am using samsung SGH-E250i i am not able to see the solution on a YOUTUBE video, if i could only just get instructions i would be greatful, i hope you will be able to help
NEED HELP!!!
my Samsung galaxy vibrant SGH-T959 is stuck on the beginning boot screen. i cant get into recovery. i take the battery out and unplug it. i hold volume buttons and plug it in and go to download mode. but my PC will not recognize the phone. it popped up and said "this device was not set up properly." i uninstalled drivers that i installed and tried Samsung Kies. but it just kept saying "connecting." Odin will not work either. i see how people say just take the battery out while its plugged in. but that does not work either. i really need this phone this is my daily driver. it will not boot at all it just stays on vibrant logo. please help!!!!
So I flash another ROM to my tab last night (AOKP) and it was running great but I wanted to go back to Clean Rom. I flashed the new rom and wiped everything and anything as I always do with roms. After flashing Clean rom then wiping, I rebooted to a bootloop. I left it overnight and checked on it, and it was still in a bootloop.
I hooked up and started running Odin today to flash stock and Odin was stuck on recovery.img for 3 hours while I was at work. I came home and hit the power button on my tablet and within a few seconds it loads a screen "Firmware upgrade encountered and issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" Kies does not work on my PC so I cannot use it. Hitting power+volume up doesn't get me into recovery. I know it can be fixed but, how? I have looked all over for this same issue and cannot find much that will help. Any ideas?
*nevermind* finally found something that worked.
You should post the solution you found. It may help others.

I was running the newest SKANK rom, and woke up this morning with it on the galaxy s screen. I pulled the battery, and tried to reboot, but the power button didnt work. it wouldnt boot into recovery either. I tried using odin, but it keeps hanging at either cache, or modem, and wont go any farther... I could really use some advice.

hey bro whats up sorry to here that have u tried taken out your battery sim and micro for 5 minutes then putting back your battery only before this you should restart your computer then using a different usb port connect the usb then hold vol up and down same time hopefully download mode right away then you have to check repartition if your using some older version of odin it does not do it for you make sure you have correct files and you should be good odin will only hang usually due to wrong or mismatch pit and tar .... goto development section look for any of FISHMANs work he has plenty of odin images you can easily odin back to a rooted device and not have to go through all those steps in rerooting before any of my steps just make sure you have repartition checked on yes :good: hopefully that gets you some where :good:

Well try to get into download mode with the combo, then reinstall your Samsung drivers, try adding nexus drivers too. Idk much about this but skang, soft brick, and Odin problems caught me cause I run the same ROM.

Hi,
Am new to XDA- Forums so please pardon me if am not clear in my questions/queries.
Issue:
I am using Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 , few days back it suddenly went into bootloop( every time i switch on the device it starts upto Samsung logo and re-starts the same process again and again).
Details:
OS : 4.3.3 Jelly Bean
Observations:
Recovery mode is not available - it only shows an android icon with an exclamatory mark and a caption 'No Command'.
Resolutions tried:
1) Tried flashing the ROM with Official stock Rom but all practices in vain.
Possible reasons:
Is the device soft bricked. or is it a power button shot which causes it to boot loop.
Kindly assist me. Thanks in Advance

Yes.. it goes in download mode.
Flash a full stock firmware, the latest for your country, using Odin then factory reset.
If that works then all is well, but you might find Odin fails to flash due to nand memory damage/wear.
Hi,
Thanks to all for your valuable time and suggestions.
Currently my device is started and is working. But there are hick-up's which needs some clarifications.
Below steps were performed:
1) Initially I did not use to get recovery option from where i was not able to wipe data, so after researching a bit i found a suggestion to apply re-partition. So i used 'GT-I9300_mx_20120329_100%.pit' file and started the re-partition. All went fine but in Odin during re-partition it was stuck at a statement 'NAND write start' for about more then 30 minutes. So i was worried n unplugged the device in between. Fortunately after restart, it went into recovery mode and i applied wipe data factory reset.
2) Still the device got stuck in some weird screen called 'installier der anderden'. But now no bootloop (an affirmative sign :laugh.
3)Today i installed the official stock rom of samsung galaxy s3 for india and now its working. But the hick- up is
it restarts/ hangs or it shows Unfortunately so n so app has stopped.
Need guidance on below points:
1)Should i re-partition again using the .pit file. (now i will re-partition using 'SG3 16GB White.pit' got a link for this from xda forum).
2) After re-partition, installation of stock rom.
Thanks in advance.
Flash stock firmware and pit at the same time, then factory reset afterward.
If the phone still freezes or restarts after this then nand memory is worn, for which there is no cure.
Unfortunately every google app stops after some time.
Any solution/recommendations..
Should i apply re-partition and again apply an official stock rom ..
UPDATE: I got stock firmware flashed on it, but as soon as it finished, it just stuck in the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge boot screen, and it won't even allow me to access recovery mode so I can wipe cache and whatnot. I'm running out of patience with this brick of a phone. It just goes straight to the same boot screen, not allowing me to get to the recovery mode. Are there any alternative ways to enter recovery mode, or alternative ways to wipe cache and partition? Please, any advice is welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
Try different odin version and cable before you messing with pit.

I had tried using three different versions of Odin, 3.07, 3.09, 3.106. I also used multiple cords and multiple versions of stock roms. And still, no success. It won't even stay off, every time it juices up, or is plugged in, it goes straight to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge boot screen and stays there.
Mind you, I am not too familiar with anything outside of stock roms, some custom roms and rooting. Have not tested out much more than that. Any noob-friendly advice would be welcomed.
I had nand write start error once during downgrading my s6 from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1. I just tried odin 3.10 and it got flashed successfully. I was lucky then.

Well, I finally got one of the firmwares to work, it ran through Odin and everything just fine, but after it was done, it basically did the same thing, it stayed on the Samsung black screen, except without the red writing at the top..

I can't access recovery, the phone won't turn off, so as soon as it has any source of battery life, it just goes straight to the samsung boot screen and stays there.
Hold vol down+power button for 15-20sec. As soon as it reboot, hold vol up+power+home button to enter recovery.

I've tried that at least 50-ish times now, It just does not work, I tried it with a second or two delay, I tried it immediately after screen turns off, tried it so many times. No matter how long I hold them down for, it just stays at the boot screen. I can get to download mode just fine, but for some reason recovery seems to not be working.
is it a bootloop (it keeps restarting or it is frozen on samsung logo) ?
if bootloop you can try: plug in power corde. press and hold both volume buttons + home + power untill it shuts down. unplug power corde. press and hold home volume down and power for download mode. get another rom and flash it.
Hi i am having exactly the same problem can boot to download but not recovery, let the phone run out of battery and as soon as you plug it in again bootloop, i was running crisscross marshmallow rom ,custom kernel i have a backup but am not sure what or how to flash correctly in Odin any help would be much appreciated thanks .
Edit flashed firmware from sammobiles worked a treat .
Any updates on this?
I have this exact problem however I never attempted rooting my phone or changing anything on the firmware, I was on YouTube when my s6 edge crashed then entered boot loop, I CANNOT ACCESS recovery mode ,but I can access Odin mode. WTF everything is stock on my phone, never even heard of 'bootloop, Odin mode' before this happened .or even had to access my recovery mode on my s6. As I search the web for help I find solutions that require recovery mode, but I can access it. Apparently bootloop happens when people try to root but I never tired that. I don't even know what that is!
This just happened to my S6. Was watching YouTube then it crashed and entered a boot loop, can't access recovery, only download mode.
