My nook crashed after a TWRP recovery flash gone wrong (TWRP Manager), so i had to flash repart.img (stock B&N).
After that my nook was alive again but without touch (multitouch firmware installed).
Below it´s how i went from stock to CM11, but i'm not responsible for any bricked nooks so...
1.Using a disk partition tool, s create a primary FAT32 partition, and set it as active on the MicroSD that you will use to boot, and remember that the card will be wiped so don´t use your mom´s camera card.
2. A. Download (attached to this post) "NT-TWRP-KK-SD.zip" and extract all the files to the root of your SDCard.
B. flashable_TWRP_2.6.3.1.zip @ https://www.mediafire.com/folder/xjwc1a482a6ll/Nook_Tablet
C. CM11 http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=acclaim
D. Gapps http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/standard-minimal-gapps-t2012857 or
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
The files in step 2A MUST be on the card root, B to D can be inside a folder but it´s not needed
3. Eject the card from your computer, and install it in your nook. Power it up.
4. It will boot and show the box screen then straight to TWRP 2.7.1.0.
In TWRP go to WIPE -> Advanced wipe -> Check all except Internal storage and Micro SDcard.
After it´s done wiping, go back to start screen and Install CM11, Gapps and last the flashable recovery.
Click reboot -> Power off
5. Remove SDcard from nook and power on.
If everything went correct you will see cyanoboot and after booting CyanogenMod.

I have an 8 gb NT and can't seem to make the device boot with the formatted and loaded SD in the SD card slot on the device. I'm not sure why but it just won't boot while it's in there. The card is fine as I was using it before (It's a 4 gb sandisk). Any help would be appreciated.

I just finished updating my 16gb Nook Tablet with this guide, using the latest nightly CM11 build.
In the past, I thought CM builds are pre-rooted, but this isn't.
I rechecked my options in TWRP (bootable on an SD card) and CMW (installed on emmc)... I recall a brief moment where TWRP asked me about root access, but I don't recall where...
Can anyone point me in the right direction to establishing root?
Any input is appreciated.
(I suppose I could wipe and reflash if necessary as well)

So I am just coming into here wanting to root my 16GB Nook Tablet version 1.4.3. I have been looking around the forums for a bit and have not found a specific thread outlining what I need to do. Well most of them are old and I am not sure which ones to follow.
The first thing I need to do is establish root, but how exactly do I go about that. Most of the video tutorials are dead links. Any help would be appreciated!

I had a very similar situation myself. Read many/most of the other 10.x & 11 guides; all seemed to reference the same stuff. Could not get a custom card to work. Suspect that I had downloaded a bad .zip (or two). Found this guide and figured it was worth a shot. Card booted first try and everything worked as written.
Hope those looking for a quick solution find this post sooner than I did.
Has anyone successfully accomplished this installation on the 8GB Nook Tablet?
I've been having massive amounts of trouble getting mine to boot from the SD card. I'd like to give this a try if it will in fact work with both the 8 and 16GB NTs.

Recent CM10/11 should work on both 8GB and 16GB NTs.

Thanks, digixmax! I know some things only work with the 16GB model and I didn't want to brick.
I'll get cracking on it.
So on a whim, I decided to try this guide to go completely CM11 on the Nook. Had a little trouble getting a bootable SD card, but worked that out. After the wipe, and then using TWRP to flash the nightly CM11 - it looked like it completed, but then gave an error saying it was unable to mount /bootdata. I repeated the flashing a couple of times and it still had that message. Flashing gapps and the flash TWRP gave me the same error message. But then after rebooting the device - it does boot to CM11 using the internal storage! It works OK, it seemed like it was freezing a lot and so I enabled Developer access, and then put a limit of "2" on background processes - that seemed to fix the freezing. But now, when installing some applications/games from the Google Play store, getting a message that I need an SDCard. I'm going to try putting in an SDCard later to see if that works...but wondering if we should have partitioned the internal storage? Its a 16GB nook, so maybe two partition with the last one being /DATA? Anyone run into this issue? Thanks.

This issue of dependency on external SD in CM11 has been reported and discussed on these forums (e.g., just search the Official NT CM11 thread).
You'd need to go back to 10.1 or 10.0 to be able to run any app without an external SD.

Thank you digixmax! Yes, I did do a full wipe using TWRP (per the instruction in OP's post). And yeah, I put in an external SD card, it works fine now.

Just wanted to send out a thank you to everyone who continues to work on these relatively outdated devices. Although this thread is for CM11, I just loaded CM10.0 internally onto my wife's unused Nook Tablet (16 gig, v.1.4.3) as a gift for my retired father. I posted here because I used the TWRP boot files provided in this thread (NT-TWRP-KK-SD.zip), and was previously having problems getting booted correctly (trying CM11 and CM10). I also used the general steps in Digimax's 10.x guide (e.g. backing up the old system, using the older, flashable CWM 6.0.2.x and GApps for CM10.0), and Succulent's final, supposedly quite stable CM10.0 (12/31) build (also pulled from another thread, not the CM site). Given my father's and the tablet's age, I figured system stability was more important than anything else so went with CM10.0 instead of CM11. Everything appears to be running great, cat videos and all.
A few newbie notes relevant to this process (for probably CM11 and CM10). I could not get a bootable microSD card working using Digimax's guide (see the error mentioned in his note i.b, although files did not appear corrupted by examining file size). I wonder if it had to do with the large microSD card I used (32 gig) -- I could swear I remember reading that bigger cards have some issues -- or the additional boot.img file provided by Rpadula in his NT-TWRP-KK-SD.zip. When things did work for me, I had both set the partition size to 2 gb on the microSD card and used files in Rpadula's zip, so it is unclear what made the difference. I also ran into the mounting and zip installation error described above, but after allowing TWRP to grant me root access -- an option presented during restart after wiping -- and restarting the nook, the files installed fine (again, unclear whether or not root access or restarting made the difference).

For a noobie this was pretty straight forward for building the SDCard. I am in CM11 on my Nook Tablet! I am having one issue though and I don't know if this is the best place to ask - I am getting "Browser as stopped working" and "Google Account Manager has stopped working" anytime I try to login to my google account or even open the stock web browser. I have tried rebooting and wiping. I also did some digging and found this may be related to a webview issue and tried flashing a fix I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50122471&postcount=2161 but still no luck. Can anyone help me get past this bug?

I used the advanced wipe in TWRM as described in OP. Could it be related to a bad GApps zip I grabbed? The link in OP was closed so I got it from somewhere else (using gapps-custom-pico-4.4zip). Not sure if that could affect the Browser too though. Also, after every package I installed I got "E:/Unable to mount '/bootdata'. This obviously didn't affect me getting CM11 on there, but just throwing some more info out there.
Edit: I did a full wipe and reinstalled without GApps and I can't test the Google Account Manager now but the Browser works. What GApps zip would you recommend for this build?

I'd suggest you try the Gapps at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps (the "small" version should suffice), the apps are a bit dated but after installation can be updated (via Google Playstore) to their most current version..

Hello, I recently received a Nook Tablet with a major problem. It won't boot up. The best I can do is to get it to the TWRP menu. If I try to go past that it just goes to a black screen and I have to restart the device. I've tried looking online for a fix but came up empty. I would either like to restore the Nook to factory settings or restore the CyanogenMod OS. The TWRP screen says v2.1.4. When I go into the install menu I have two options cm-7-TEAM-B-BETA1-signed.zip and Gaps_and_root.zip. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

It is used and has an 8gb flash card. When I originally got it I was able to get it to boot but I couldn't download any Apps because the Google Play wouldn't work and it gave a message "OTA Updater has stopped working". I've spent hours looking for a way to get it back to factory or to try and get it to work properly and have had no luck. Now I can't get it to boot up. I tried the Internal eMMC recovery option but it doesn't seem to be working. Could the MOUNT options be a problem? Currently "Unmount Cache", "Unmount Internal Storage", and "Using internal storage" is selected. I just want to get this tablet to work properly so I can download apps and use the Android OS as it was intended.
If I was you I would start over again with a "fresh" Tablet and do a completely new install. But that's me... I've given suggestions how to do that in several similar topics in this very forum. As I said, read the forum! I see several topic headlines that SHOULD catch your attention on this very forum page list!

I tried the acclaim restore per this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1402190 . It involved copying the .zip file to my SD and inserting it into the Nook. When I turned it on it was supposed to begin restoring the Nook to the factory OS. When I did it, the Cyanoboot went into "Loading recovery from eMMC". Not sure if it's not booting from the SD or not but I tried the usb to PC method.
I also attempted the AlbertWertz SD Root card, but when I try to write the .img file to my SD it said that there was insufficient space on disk. And I tried it with a 8gb and 16gb SD.
I then tried the do the CM10 install here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056626 . But my computer doesn't give me the option to format my SD w/ a partition.
I also tried to hold the Power+N 8x and it just goes back into the Cyanoboot menu.
I can't seem to find anyone with my exact problem. NT wont boot into OS, and no matter what I do it goes into the Cyanoboot menu.
Try the burning the "repart.img" in the topic I link to at the end of this post to an sd-card and boot into it. Unless you've managed to destroy some partition on the device in your attempts (and it doesn't sound as you've made enough progress to actually do that - sometimes lack of progress is good) . It's fully automatic and takes you back out of the box stock 1.4.0 (as I have told in several other topics the last few days).
Using this is far sefer than fiddling with CWM and what have you if you're not sure what you're doing!

Assuming you have a Windows PC/laptop, you can download and use this free disk partition tool: http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html (just be careful apply it to the SD drive and not your PC/laptop hard drive).
i rooted my NT about a year ago when i got it (i don't recall the specific method used), and have been clunking along with it for months, but now i want to install CM 7, 9, or 10.
most of the guides start with "Stock 1.4.3" but my software version says "9.9.9" after root (iirc, it was 1.4.1 when i received it).
can i use these guides with the rooted 9.9.9 version i have?
or are there special instructions for 9.9.9 (maybe an abbreviated version since i am already rooted?)
or do i somehow have to go from 9.9.9 back to 1.4.1 or 1.4.3?

thanks!! i'll follow your guide (there are so many floating around that i never quite know which are still considered applicable. yours looks great.). is that applicable to both rooted and stock? i have a buddy who got a NT recently, so i am trying to test out CM10 before recommending it, but mine is rooted stock and his is unrooted stock.

Yes, the installation will over-write whatever is currently in emmc (and that's why it's recommended that you back up the current config).
FWIW, your buddy can keep his stock ROM and try running CM10 off an SD card (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35946501#post35946501), and decide later whether to replace his stock ROM with it.

No, you need to first create a “bootable” clockworkmod (CWM) recovery SD, then rename the referenced recovery-0.08.3.img to recovery.img and copy it as well as referenced cm10-acclaim-0.08.3-full-of-bugs.zip and the file gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip from http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip to the card. Thanks for the help! I'm a little confused though, do I use the SD card or the emmc version of CWM to make the bootable SD? Does the emmc version flash CWM to the nook and from there do I install the files from a SD, or does it boot from the SD and allow me to flash ROMs to the emmc?
Also, if I'm using the CWM .img what's the purpose of the recovery.img on the card if all I'm flashing are the .zips? I would imagine the ROM .zip instructs it to flash the recovery.img but the CM10 thread says you can use an older CM9 recovery.img.

Thanks for the help! I'm a little confused though, do I use the SD card or the emmc version of CWM to make the bootable SD? Does the emmc version flash CWM to the nook and from there do I install the files from a SD, or does it boot from the SD and allow me to flash ROMs to the emmc?
Also, if I'm using the CWM .img what's the purpose of the recovery.img on the card if all I'm flashing are the .zips? I would imagine the ROM .zip instructs it to flash the recovery.img but the CM10 thread says you can use an older CM9 recovery.img.

The recovery version you need to put on the SDcard is the sdcard version (not the emmc version); recovery is the tool that manages the flashing of the ROM/gapps zip files onto the NT, clearing of cache, backing up current ROM & apps, etc.
The emmc version of recovery is for flashing onto the NT and is used presumably for "performing recovery" without external SDcard. Some ROM packages include a recovery.img but not all do (in which case the recovery.img on the NT remains the stock recovery).
I just spent the last hour and a half trying to get a bootable CWM 6 sd card. First I thought I would need to boot into CWM but couldn't get that to work (I vaguely remember doing that to set up my CM7 SD card). Then I realized I can boot into cyanoboot and flash it through that. Using various methods, including the link you provided, I can't find a definite step-by-step guide. In the guide you provided I followed the steps but am stuck on step 5. When I go into SDC Recovery I don't see backup options anywhere, I see a list of recovery options. I tried to get back to the same screen to take a pic when it finally booted into CWM! I guess it takes a few tries to get it to boot. I chose the backup option and it started copying files for a few minutes until it got stuck on a file. It's been stuck on it for the last hour. http://i.minus.com/ivJa6tBF5tl9i.JPG
If I turn it off I have the chance of corrupting the file but since I don't really plan to go back to stock it wouldn't really matter anyway. The card might be full, but I only had like 100 MB of files on there.
If you don't plan to go back to stock, there is no need to back up (worst case you can get the stock ROM from https://github.com/succulent/acclaim_recovery_sdcard).
If you have more problems you might want to check out your sd card (if need be reformatting it with sd formatter https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/).

The CM10 thread says to now install CWM to emmc using fastboot. I know it's optional but I want it just in case. I looked it up and installed fastboot but which recovery should I use? The recovery-0.08.3 from the thread or the CWM recovery?

I have one last question: Is there a way I can increase the 1GB data partition? I know android needs space for apps and such but I think a 4GB data partition is reasonable. I have a DVD of Ubuntu so I can access GParted if I need to. If you don't know or don't think I should mess with it that's completely fine, I have a 32GB micro SD that I'm going to use (my current CM7 card) but just want the extra internal space.
The data partition is for apps you download, the media content can go to the Nook media partition or SDcard. If you have many apps with large storage footprint you will likely need extra space. There are tools and methods for repartitioning on XDA (I have not needed to use them), just do a Google search I am sure they will turn up.

Forgive my blinding ignorance and noobiness.
I have been off the forums for some time. I have been running an old version of Paranoid Android off an SD card since December. (Thank you iamafanof...........I've been using your first incarnation of PA all this time!) Finally, I have a bit of time and energy to update my ROM.
When I first created this SD card running the PA ROM, I had to download to my computer four files..... two ROM zips: (one internal and the SD version), boot.zip and GAPPS. I then had to use my computer to place files in the boot partition of my newly partitioned card (I used SD Formatter for that), first swaping files from the SD zip into the Internal zip of the ROM and GAPPS as originally described in the CM7/CM9/CM10 post (these instructions have been repeatedly posted all over the forum and digimax wrote me a handy tutorial back then....thank you digimax, I get how to do that). Here's my question:
Is there an easier way to update the ROM on the card I am using (i,e., do I have to go through all that again)? I see that the developers are still posting Internal and SD versions of the ROMs and boot.zips for updated ROMS. In my dreams, I wish I could just go to GOO images on my NT, download a new, ready made SD.zip ROM into my boot partition somehow, wipe dalvik and system, data 1 partitions , and use cyanogen mod options to install the fabulously ready pre-prepared SD ROM.zip and a handy GAPPS. Right? OK, back to reality. Bottom line, my computer up is a piece of crap running windows 98 so I can't download from GOO images with it (old version of explorer) even in compatibility mode...I will have to download onto my NT, move the files over...yada yada yada and so on.
I understand very little about development. No offense meant to the developers who work so hard to keep us all in ROMs, I don't expect my fantasy about the SD ROMs to happen. If I have to "go through all that" again, no big deal, I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing anything about an easier way for me to update my ROMs. Can I somehow prepare a new card using my rooted NT instead of having to mess with my computer? Any links available on how to? Just a hint would be fine. I'm willing to learn since there is no new computer in my immediate future.
Please don't respond just to blast me about reading the forums and so on. I am not just lazy, there is a good reason for me to be asking for a bit of assistance. If you don't have anything nice to say, I would prefer you didn't say it at all.

I'm a little confused over what it is you want to do. Do you want to run from sd or do you want to install internally?
If you want to run from sd there are ready made images to download at Iamafanof website. Just download and burn!
The talk about flashing, wiping Dalvik suggests you want to make an internal install. If that indeed is the case then you need cwm version 6.x.x. If you have that, then it's as simple as booting into cwm and install Rom and gaps that you have put on your card.

To update from your current PA ROM build to a newer build, you only need to download the SDC version of the zip archive files for the new ROM build and the corresponding Gapps onto your SD boot partition, and flash them using SD CWM recovery (steps 7-12 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098419). You only need to wipe /data if the two ROM builds have different android base versions (e.g., 4.2.1 vs. 4.2.2).
Although I have not done it, you should be able to download the zip files directly onto the SDcard boot partition (/sdcard).
Thank you asawi and digimax. Yes asawi, I want to continue to run off the SD card. I guess wipe dalvik only applies to internal (didn't know), I will educate myself on that. Digimax...again, you understood my essential question and came to my rescue. Thank you again for taking the time to respond!

Cache & Dalvik apply to both, and the same /cache partition on emmc is used whether you are running a ROM on emmc or on SD card. You should wipe Cache/Dalvik when flashing a new ROM build (although I myself don't always do it ).
Thanks again digimax, that saved me some time and helped me understand why I thought that (wipe dalvik/cache and possibly data 1) was necessary. OK so the System partition wiping was dumb.
{EDIT POST: I downloaded the PA 3 ROM SD.zip and PA 3 GAPPS.zip files and used .zip viewer and I now see that boot.img and recovery.img are in the SD ROM.zip (as indicated in iamafanof's PA 3 ROM post) so I answered my own questions below! (For anyone reading and following this that was interested, I am answering my own questions below just in case it helps someone else.}

/system automatically gets reformatted (aka "wiped") as part of the ROM flashing.
Note that to wipe /data partition on SD card, use the "wipe data1" item on CWM recovery menu. You'll need to use one of Succulent/iamafanof's more recent CWM versions such as cwm_6.0.2.8_acclaim_recovery_sdcard.img (available at http://goo.im/devs/succulent/acclaim/recovery) as older versions do not have this "wipe data1" option.

The boot.img and recovery.img inside the SD ROM zip file will be flashed onto the SD card /boot partition (replacing any corresponding existing copy on the partition).
For the NT to boot into SD card CWM recovery you need to have in the /boot partition: MLO, u-boot.bin, flashing_boot.img (aka Cyanoboot) and recovery.img. If they are already there you don't need to replace them.

There is no need to boot into rooted stock ROM in order to access the SD card /boot partition, you should be able to access it while running CM off SD.

As you can see I have been trying to figure this out for myself. I hate having to ask and ask questions, and you have been extraordinarily kind and patient. I really appreciate that! I saw in a much earlier thread, just after you had written up those instructions for me for the first PA ROM, that you moved the instructions to this site and others had similar questions to the ones I had. That made me feel better about having had to ask the first time around

I want to install the updated CWM 6.0.2.8 as suggested on my SD card ROM, so when I go into SDC Recovery I get that ( I am now getting CWM 5.x.x.x). I believe that came preinstalled with the original PA ROM as I don't recall doing a manual install of it.
I downloaded the 6.0.2.8 zip from the link you provided. As I understand it, I need to place that zip in the root of the SD card, rename it "update.zip" and then select Update Zip from SDC Recovery. (Or, don't rename it and select install zip, correct?)

You don't need to rename the zip file to flash it.
Make sure though that you download the version for SDC and not the one for Internal.

There is a way to access the SD card /boot partition while running your current PA on SD but it would be a bit involved (basically you'd need to edit /etc/vold.fstab to get it mounted).
What I'd suggest is for you to use a File Manager app such as ES File Explorer (freeware from Google Play) while running your rooted stock ROM on the NT and see if the SDcard /boot partition is visible (you might need to get into the app's Settings menu to enable "Root Explorer" so that you can navigate around the whole file system). If the partition is visible you should be able to download or copy files to it.

I am new at rooting, this is the first device I have tried to root. I followed the thread for a triple boot CM7 , CM9 and CM10 (also stock OS) from Malloneem. I decided to only flash CM7 and CM10 to NT 1.4.3. Everything worked great, except during the initial setup of both CM7 and CM10 it will not recognize my WiFi. I have tried twice, after first time I wiped NT and reformatted the sd card and started from scratch. same result both times.
I read through the replies and noticed that someone else had the same problem. the response said to wipe the cache and it should fix the dalvik. I wiped both the cache then tried and then wiped the dalvik and had the same results. With the CM10 it says "turning on wifi" and stays there.
I am a new member to xda so I cannot post a reply to the original thread.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You can use this:

Write the image file to an SD card and you'll be good to go. You can use a repartitioning software to expand the partitions on your SD if you want. Use the instructions on the link I provided.
The SD card image will contain CM10.1 4.1.2. If you want to use a different ROM you can download the SDC version of any ROM ( has to be SDC!), place the zip on your SD card or internal storage. Boot into SDC recovery and installed the zip file. You'll need the GAPPS zip also (which has to be SDC also.)

Yes. Because CM 10 will be on your SD card. Stock will be on your internal. If your internal partitions or anything is messed up ( maybe the reason you can't boot stock) you can tell from CM.

Thank you again. I have read throught the instructions on the link you provided and I am a little confused on the partitioning part. As I mentioned before this is my first time rooting anything. The instructions on the triple boot regarding the partitioning of the sdc were clear giving sizes for the newly created partitions etc., I didn't see that on this link (unless I missed it). Could you explain it so a newbie can understand it?

Well is there any reason why you would like triple boot? You need a fairly good size SD card if you want three systems. I just provided the simplest way to run cm on the nook. Write the image to your SD card and it will make it boot able. If you want to triple boot then setup your SD card partitions like you had before, but you only need to install the zips as alt boots.
Again, you probably don't need triple boot. Cm10+ has everything you'll need.

I was referencing the directions for partitioning on the triple boot thread as a comparison. The site you gave me said to partition the card but gave reference as to how big to make each partition. I don't need the triple boot.
My kid uses the NT to help read (read to me, etc...) I wanted something to get more of a tablet feel while keeping the stock system as well.

On the iamafanof site you can scroll down there will be an SDC image. There is a difference between the image and the zips. All you need to do is download the SDC image, write it go your SD card using an file writer ( win32 disk writer will do) and your SD card will be ready to boot. Put it in your nook and and it will boot cyanoboot and should automatically do a SDC boot. It takes a little bit for the first boot to start ( usually 2 or 3 minutes)
Once you get your nook to boot cm I can tell you how to expand your SD partitions to hold more apps.
If you still have problems with WiFi it may be a different problem ( shouldn't happen).
If you need help or need a step by step guide I can find one or make one for you.

You have 4 partitions on your SD card: boot, system, data, sdcard. Your boot partition holds the files the boot CM. This is where recovery, mlo, uboot, etc is. System holds files essential for the ROM to work.
The only two you need to worry about are data and SD. Your data partitions holds apps. That is when you download an app the files in the apk file are put there. This would be like your internal storage for any phone or tablet. SD card is like an external SD card for your phone or tablet. Its where extra data files, photos, music etc go.
Depending on what size of SD card you have determines how big you can expand your data or SD partition.
Using a partitioning software ( like GParted) you can change the partitions and expand them to the side you want. I have a 16 GB SD card. So I expanded my data partition to 4 GB, and the rest went to SD card. Its okay to delete data or SD partition to expand it, but don't delete boot or system because you'll have to reformat the card and write the image file to the card again ( and ain't nobody got time for that.)

Using CWM v6.0.4.5 and CM11 on a Nook Tablet 8.
I've been playing with CM 10.1 and 10.2, installing everything manually
with CWM5x. Recently updated CWM and am now running CM11. (no TWRP).
For the first time I am trying to install nightlies using Settings/AboutTablet/CyanogenModUpdates. It downloads then reboots to CWM. CWM then cannot find the update (E:failed to open /storage/sdcard0/cmupdater/cm-11-...) because in the first step of the updater leaves the zip on sdcard1:
(/storage/sdcard1/cmupdater/cm-11-...) I can manually install the zip from sdcard1 but I want to get the automated update to complete as intended.
I tried to begin the process with no SD card installed thinking that sdcard0 is internal but the download just waits until a SD card is inserted. Since I installed CWM6 I have the ability to choose from sdcards 0 and 1. Don't remember having that choice before.
Any ideas how I can get the download destination and the CWM to default to the same drive?

i personally have never been able to download a cm update and let it update automatically. if i do, it turns into a bootloop or something crazy. i jus use the cm update to download. and then instal via cwm. also the previous cwm DID have the "storage 1 or storage 0: choices but it was called instead, "choose sd card" or "choose internal storage" sd card meaning the "1" and internal meaning the "0". i mean from wut i understand the structure of the system in NT doesnt really allow auto update. because it has to work around the stock barnes and noble bootloader. unlike the nook color where its capable of auto update. so basically u always have to manual update unless ive got my hands on a demon tablet.

Mine worked fine ... even w/ CM11 until I did a factory reset (prior to that I just cleared cache and davlik) ... now I have to install from CMUpdater folder manually ... also - some of the apps that were available prior to the factory reset will not show up in the play store now - TV Guide and Playmaker (buzztime trivia) specifically ... says I have an incompatible device now ... again this worked fine w/ the early nightlies of CM11, but not since the factory reset.

You might want to check (from your PC) Google Play Store -> Settings -> My Devices and see if your NT appears as different models before and after the factory reset.
I had a similar problem in that after the upgrade from 10.2.0 to 11 some apps became unavailable ("incompatible") in the Play Store, include a few already installed apps that still run just fine after the "dirty" flash of 11 on top of 10.2!!!

Interesting ... it shows the nook tablet, but says it was last used in August ... what if anything can be done about this?

Another potential factor at play here is that somewhere between 10.1 and 11 (I can't recall which release) the serial number of the NT no longer gets picked up by CM (and presumably passed onto apps/services that might use it for tracking purpose).

Can I do anything about it? The thing is basically a blank slate at this point because I haven't re-installed most of my apps ... if I'm going to mess with it in a major way now is the time.
Updating again and I find that the reason for it not working is that the drive designations are not consistent.
Running Android:
Internal storage is /storage/sdcard1
External SD card is /storage/sdcard0
Running CWM:
Internal storage is /storage/sdcard0
External SD card is /storage/sdcard1
So when settings/AboutTablet/CyanogenModUpdates passes the file location and reboots into CWM, the zip file can't be found.
