Might be easier to try to flash ubuntu onto one of the stock based builds as ubuntu works on top of the android 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 just that ubuntu does not require dalvik.

Hi everyone, I bought an Hp Stream 7 some weeks ago. This tablet has the same hardware of the Trekstor Surftab Xintron i 7.0 but the Hp Strem 7 has Windows 8.1, while the Xintron i 7.0 has Android 5.0 Lollipop,
so i think: Is it possible do a porting of Android on Stream 7? Thank you to everyone!!
Try android x86. there are plenty of guides on how to install it. there shouldn't be much of a difference between the ordinary pc and your tablet.

Except that the HP Stream 7 is x64. However, it does run 32-bit Windows 8.1, so maybe it's okay?

Every x86_64 bit processor supports execution of x86_32 code. So, since you can disable secure boot in uefi, you are free to try it. however some things may be broken, wifi or bluetooth for example.

I just wanted to know if it were at all possible to install Ubuntu Touch on a galaxy tab S 10.5 and if so, Could I install IDE's like Eclipse, Net Beans, etc. Lastly If so where can I find the instructions on this matter?

If you create a port for the device, this will work. Check out the porting guide: http://developer.ubuntu.com/en/start/ubuntu-for-devices/porting-new-device/

If you simply want your device to be able to do that, check out the Linux on Android project.

it took me a long time to see this post but I'm gonna try both the linux deploy (since I already have Kali) and the port creation example - the only problem is that its for a nexus 4 - how do I do this for a 10.5 tab - s ?

To go along with this: the touchpad on most Chromebooks is not working. It's seems the RemixOS kernel does not include/doesn't properly load the chromeos_laptop module.
install Ubuntu on a chromebook
