how to install new boot animation on blu dash 5.0 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I'm new on the scene of customizing ROMs with a little experimentation. I want to point out that so far I have not found a custom roms for blue - 5.0. however I did find a way too customize my rom by using rom installer made by JRummy an app that can be found on Google Play amazing I know so I added a custom boot animation removing the stock animation of blue - 5.0 and now I have the dancing droid everytime I turn on my phone it's pretty cool all you have to do is download JRummy app called rom installer found on Google Play your phone must be rooted and you must have busybox installed also you mus downloadthe application that I used to root my phone is called from a rude which can be found on XDA Developers and downloaded once you root your phone open it up there's all kinds of cool and the gang that you can do so I got a new boot animations from JRummy apps and that's why I found the dancing Droid is also a boot animation of Mario Brothers running across the screen when your phone boots up when you first turn it on stick figures falling from the sky and dying stick figures fighting and so forth so once you download the zip file from JRummy apps which can we found on Google Play. you also need to download rom manager also found on Google Play and this is where you can find a customized or stock boot animations once you download the boot animations you find the zip file and SD card and a clock work mod then click downloads then then click JRummy apps and you keep cleaning up to you get such as I file once you get through the zip file you click on it and either the rom manager or another app called rom customizer will open up and ask you do you want to open up or do you want to unzip it you press open and once it opens you clicked on the zip file and you automatically be taken to an app that will ask you do you want to Flash and or install the zip ok then there should be a notification that lets you know that has been installed successfully and reboot your phone when you reboot your phone there should be a new boot animation for a more detailed explanation on how to do this please email me at [email protected] see at or just reply to this thread thank you. I thought I would share the knowledge I learned from doing research endlessly and experimenting as well as tinkering with my operating system. As I learn more I will share what I know. Sorry for my typing I'm using my blue dash 5.0 to do all this. Please work with me. Will get a laptop soon.

This is a complete theming guide for android!!!it allows you to change the look of android completely to diifferent skins and os's
Windows Phone 7
This is a simple procedure to change the interface of android to windows phone
First of all,I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM YOU MAY CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!
First download these awesome softwares from other cool devs available on the play store or as apks on the net
Launcher 7(Home screen)
Photo safari(Pictures hub)
Z player (Music Player)
WP7 Notifications(Notifications.Duh!!)
My xbox live(games hub)
Wp7 Lock(lock screen)
WP7 Contacts(Contacts)
Wp7 Phone(optional)
Wp7 calculator
Wp7 email
Downloaded? Now for the second step,Shift all the user apps to system apps.Apps like the phone and music should be replaced.Xbox live, calculator can just be loaded.NoteELETE THE ODEX FILES IF YOURE DELETING A SYSTEM APP!!!
In case you dont knw how to make a user app to system read on,else, skip the next para
There are two ways you can convert a user app to system:The NOOB way and the XDA way!
Noob wayownload titanium backup pro, long press an app,go to special functions and click move to system app Or download system app mover.
XDA way:
Important: Make sure to allow any SuperUser permission requests that you may get during these steps..
Procedure
Configuring ES File Explorer for root read/write access (required only once):
Launch ES File Explorer, press Menu and tap ‘Settings’.
In the settings, enable the ‘Up to root’ check box.
Further down in the settings, enable ‘Root Explorer’ check box. You will get a warning that you should confirm.
You will then get the Superuser permissions request that you must allow.
Finally, enable the ‘Mount File System’ check box, and press the back key to get back to the explorer interface. ES File Explorer is now configured to work as a root explorer. You do not need to do this again on the same device now, unless you uninstall ES File Explorer, perform a factory reset or install another ROM.
Finding the APK of an already-installed normal app (skip to step 3 if you already have the APK):
First of all, install the app from Play Store, if you haven’t already done that.
Launch ES File Explorer and go to /data/app. (You may have to press the back button to get to / first).
If you know the icon of the app, you can easily find it here. If you are having trouble finding the app here due to the confusing names or because of having a lot of apps installed, just search for the app in Google Play Store in a web browser and look at its Play Store link for the name. The file name will basically be the part after ?id= in its market link (and before any other question mark that may or may not appear in the link).
If you already have the APK of the file that you want to install as a system app, make sure you have transferred it to your device’s SD card if you haven’t done that already. Also make sure you know the path where you have copied it on the SD card.
Once you have located the required APK on the SD card from ES File Explorer, tap-and-hold on its icon till you get a menu, and tap ‘Cut’. You should see a little blue arrow on the bottom of the screen now. (You may select ‘Copy’ instead of ‘Cut’ if you are copying a file over from the SD card and want to keep a copy there. In case of copying an APK from /data/app, always use ‘Cut’.)ES File Explorer Copying
Now press the back button till you reach / and then browse to /system/app/
Tap the little arrow that you see on the bottom of the screen. It will bring up a pane with the icon of the copied file.
Tap on the file’s icon, and it will be transferred to /system/app/.
Now find the app’s icon in the list of files there and tap-and-hold on it till you get the menu.
Scroll down in the menu till you see ‘Properties’ and tap on it. You will now see the properties dialog.
Tap the ‘Change’ button in front of the Permissions to bring up the permissions dialog.
Make sure everything under ‘Read’ is checked, only ‘User’ is checked under ‘Write’ and nothing is checked under ‘Execute’ Your screen should look like the following:ES File Explorer Permissions
Tap OK on this screen and then on the Properties screen. Your app’s permissions are now set correctly.
Reboot your device. Your app is now ready to be used as a system app.(optional)
Well were done!
youre ready to use ur brand new WP7!!!

[TUT](GB) Easy Boot Animation Preview Using ROM Toolbox Lite

Hi all, I'm new here and I just wanna share some info to those who may need it I don't know is this a right thread, If i'm in the wrong section, do move it to the where it should belong thanks in advance to admin and those who read this
I've been playing around with the ROM Toolbox Lite on my phone and it's a good apps (for me ) even though i heard that this apps bricked someone's phone and not work properly :fingers-crossed: well, let's begin :highfive:
Tutorial: Easy Boot animation preview without restart your device (FOR ROM TOOLBOX LITE)
FIRST OF ALL, I WILL NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK OR MESS UP YOUR DEVICE AS THIS STEP WORKS ON MY DEVICE ( SAMSUNG GALAXY S ADVANCE GT-I9070). I AM NOT A SOFTWARE ENGINEER NOR DEVELOPER ON THIS THREAD AND I JUST WANNA HELP AS FAR AS I COULD. THANK YOU FOR READING THIS
Those who have the paid version, you can directly preview/view any boot animation through the apps without using this method. Don’t waste your time by reading this post
1. Your device must be rooted to install boot animation that you like.
2. You must have ROM Toolbox Lite (not paid version).
3. Download any boot animation you like through the internet.
COPY DOWNLOADED BOOT ANIMATION TO YOUR SD CARD/PHONE STORAGE
1. After you download the boot animation you wished, go to your SD CARD/ PHONE STORAGE
2. Find the romtoolbox folder > boot_animation > PASTE THE BOOT ANIMATION HERE
3. Your’re done!
HOW TO SET CUSTOM BOOT ANIMATION:
1. Tab on the ROM Toolbox Lite apps on your phone
2. Scroll to left until you reach INTERFACE tab
3. You will see Boot Animation section and tab it
4. If you already download your custom boot animation, search it on LOCAL > sdcard/romtoolbox/boot_animation/YOUR CHOICE OF BOOT ANIMATION
5. Under the ROM Toolbox apps (on your left) you’ll see HOME icon and tab it
6. Scroll down until you find sbin, tab it. Find the bootanimation.sh and tab it. Script handler will pop up and choose EXECUTE and you will see the custom boot animation that you installed earlier.
7. Wait for a while until your phone state “scanning media device” complete on your status bar.
8. Congratulation! You’re done!
I will make a simple video tutorial how to preview boot animation using the apps soon but for now, it's written tutorial

Change AT&T Bootanimation on Stock based Touchwiz roms.

This is a guide that I do not remember being posted anywhere, but if it has been, mods feel free to remove
This is for Stock based touchwiz roms ONLY where the dev hasn't added a custom bootanimation, and instead the stock ATT globe animation (which is a .qmg file instead of a zip ) is present. CM, PA, or AOKP roms do not need this, as you can just replace the bootanimation.zip file in /system/media for them.
First off special credit goes to Androidmechanic for pointing me in the direction of the thread to do so located HERE
The thread has some pretty clear instructions, but apparently some people still had problems with getting it to work, so here's what I did:
1.) Download Busybox from the playstore, open up the app and follow the instructions to install it. Even if you already have busybox from a previous time, a clean install of a fresh one will make this process work.
2.) Download the Bootanimation4u.zip AND Bootanimationzip4u.Samsungani.Only.zip from the thread linked above.
3.) Reboot into recovery and flash the Bootanimation4u.Samsungani.Only.zip FIRST, then flash Bootanimation4u.zip (I'm not sure if it is needed to flash both, but this is what I did to get it working.
4.) Reboot. Then paste any existing Bootanimation.zip files that you may have into /system/media through use of a root browser (ES File explorer, Root Browser, etc)
OR
if you don't have any bootanimation.zip files handy
you can download Boot Animation from the playstore and download and install from a PLETHORA of bootanimations. If you choose to do this follow these instructions, courtesy of XDA user ReelFiles
- install Boot Animations Root from the Play Store.
- Go into the app's preferences and change install location to /system/media/ and leave the default filename (bootanimation.zip) and go back to the main screen.
-. Select any bootanimation from the Server tab and hit Install. (Tablet ones at the bottom of the list look best.)
- Select the installed bootanimation again and hit Resize. Set it to 800x1280 30FPS.
-Tap the options key and select "Preview current" Make sure you like it and reboot.
You don't have to delete the .qmg files that Samsung uses for their bootanimation for this to work, but if for some reason this doesn't work for you, try deleting them and see what happens
Once done your bootanimation should be set! Happy Flashing!

Shutdown animation is located system/media/video/shutdown. There is a shutdown.qmg file. I replaced mine with the stock intl' Samsung shutdown qmg file. Looks much better.
I have a request to make.I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 running Lollipop 5.0.1 and i tried and flashed the file but nothing happened, but the reason is probably becouse i tried this method first ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ection-how-t1897969/post31833122#post31833122 ) and made a mess of things. Now i see only the Samsung GS4 inscription and the blank screen until the device boots up.I want to switch back to the default boot animation but i can't seem to get it back no matter what i try and i no longer have my system/bin folder bckp.If you can point me to where i can download one or you have it and can shre it with me i'll be immensely grateful.
I've a Samsung S3 I9300 with Android 4.4.4: this method works with my device?
And is there a collection of bootanimation here on XDA?
Thanks
anyone know how to go back to using qmg files?

[MODS][GUIDE]Custom sounds/Ports/Build prop tweaks(Update)

Ok guys and gals this thread started as custom lock screen on/off sounds but since then i have found in my opinion another cool mod from the s4 forum that is compatible on our devices that i think you may enjoy as well. These are not my mods in anyway i just found, tried and confirmed these working on the Note3. Please give credit where it is due if you use these mods/ports.
.........ALWAYS MAKE YOUR BACKUPS BEFORE MODDING ANYTHING!........
First up is the custom on/off lock screen sounds by a guy over on the Sprint S4 forum by the name of dav3wash so don't forget to hit that thanks button when you get over there.
1)Pick and download any of the Lock/unlock sounds you wish from the link below.
2)Extract the Lock.ogg and unlock.ogg from the zip and place on sd card in a new folder named whatever you wish.
3)With any file explorer with root access Navigate to [System / system / Media / audio / ui]
4)Scoll down til you see Lock.ogg and unlock.ogg
5)Delete or move stock sounds to the folder you made in step (2) (Incase you want to go back to stock).
6)Place custom Lock.ogg/unlock.ogg where the stock ones were shown in step (3)
7)Back out of file explorer and reboot your device.
8)After reboot Navigate to [Settings / device / lock screen / unlock effect / and set to ripple/ink] and your good to go!!!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2304198
Hope you enjoy these sounds!!!
If for any reason you would like to go back to stock the link below is the stock lock.ogg/unlock.ogg zip. This zip is non-flashable and must be pushed the same way you pushed the custom sounds. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iw4u1ak89vl233g/AADXINdF3qBGr65eWPOLNfJ5a?dl=0
Next on the list is the Penguin ROM N7 Animations Port.(Sadly not working on NH7 or Nk4) I think this might be one of the coolest animations I've seen. Ive used this port on the s4 and now here on the Note3. CPA Poke's install method uses TWRP but i used Philz Touch and it worked fine .This ported animation originally came from a developer by the name of Skyfall007(Maker of the Penguin Rom1.1 / 4.2.2) on the Nexus 7 forum found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41820147 and seshmaru found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16420559 for technical reasons i can barely comprehend and was ported over by CPA Poke. You can find him in the s4 forums and probably the Nexus 7 forums .Thank all these guys for their hard work. All the downloads and install/uninstall instruction for this animation port can be found in the link below.
HAPPY MODDING!!!!!! Penguin ROM N7 Animations Port http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42424224

Posted a link up top .
So I was poking around and came acorss these in my travels. typically these would fall under the themes and apps section but beings they are listed for Note 4 apps I thought I'd post them here incase anyone was interested. Please give albe95 thanks for posting these over at the Galaxy s4 forum. (Note 4 apps.) Enjoy!!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/themes-apps/exclusive-note-4-apps-collection-t2882577
Got another mod here for all you guys and gals. Are you sick of that annoying droplet sound that you get everything you touch in app or menu? I know I sure was! So here's an alternative. The it will be a zip file you download THEY ARE NOT FLASHABLE!!!! They must be installed manually.
1)Use any root file manager and navigate to root system/media/audio/ui
2)Pull the TW_Touch.ogg and S_HW_Touch.ogg and save them to a new folder incase you wanna go back to stock sounds
3)Extract the content in the zip file that you downloaded from the link below.
3Copy the extracted files and paste them in there rightful places that you previously pulled your stock sounds from.
4) Back out of your file manager and reboot.
All done!!! Enjoy!
Just so you know the TW_Touch.ogg is for anything on screen that is touched and the S_WH_Touch.ogg is for your (Back) and (Menu)
Im gonna upload a few more options here shortly but for now check out the one I linked. Hope you like.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/eybkqkhce1w0htu/Droplet touch replacement.zip?dl=0
So I was going to upload more touch sounds which I am still going to do. The link below is my current setup which I find the sounds to match perfectly with the screen transitions mod that I'm running which would be the N7 posted above. However I thought I'd just throw this out there.
Assuming your already rooted and have a root file manger. (I use FX root manager)
If you go to root system/system/media/audio/ui theres a list of all the sounds for this device.
Just check out all the sounds available and find one you like for a touch sound.
Long press the sound you wish and a menu should appear.
Copy the sound and store it by press paste somewhere that is easy for you to access.
Now just rename the sound.
TW_Touch.ogg for screen touch and S_HW_Touch.ogg for (Back) and(Menu)
After you've renamed them go back into ui sounds and find the stock sounds I just listed and move them to a file incase you wanna return back to stock.
Now take the sounds you renamed and put them in the stock sounds place.
Back out and reboot. And there you go. (My touch sounds) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001609348 This is a NON-FLASHABLE zip
And as always have a back up just in case!!! If you've found this useful… Hit that thank you button!!!
Ok guys and gals I got something new for you. Are you a fan of S-finder and Quick Connect in your notification drop down but running a rom that doesn't have this included in the package? Well today is your lucky day my friends. I've tested and confirm working on fre3 rom 2.25b only so if you try with other roms please drop by to list the rom you've got it running on so that others may know. And incase you was wondering (tbltespr) is for the Sprint Note Edge. I was wondering if I would get some edge feature but S-finder and Quick Connect is all that popped up. Ok ok here are the steps to get this little tweak working.
Oh and I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DESTROY YOUR DEVICE SO TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
1) Have a back up or make a back up from the recovery of your choice of your current set up incase anything goes wrong in the process.
2) This is a build prop tweak so you will need to download a build prop editor from the playstore. I use this one but any will probaby work just as well. "Build Prop Editor"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.buildpropeditor
3)You will need to download and install the Quick Connect apk non-flashable zip from this link here.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722645991
Theres 2 apk's in the download zip folder.
4)With your file manager navigate to your download folder find the zip you downloaded and tap to open then copy the 2 apk's then navigate to rooted system/systen/apps and paste the 2 files you copied and back out.
5)Once thats done open up the build prop editor you downloaded from the playstore.
6)Scroll over til you see where you do the editing now scroll down til you see
ro. product.name =hltespr and change it to tbltespr
ro.product.device = hltespr and change it to tbltespr
ro.build.product = hltespr and change it to tbltespr
7)When your done scroll back up and save your edit.
8)Now just reboot your device and profit.
If for any reason you wish to go back you can:
Restore your back up or change the tbltespr back to hltespr and delete the apk's and reboot.
Here's some screenshots if it helps. Hope you liked and happy modding!

Some video game console boot animation for Sony Xperia SP

Introduction
Hello everyone I am a newbie here and this is my first time making a working boot animation on my Sony Xperia SP ( this is my only device so if you don't have a Sony Xperia SP you can try to test it and if it work for your device tell the other so that they know it is compatible with their device or it's compatible with all device but wrong resolution ) but for some reason the boot sound is not working but if you guys got it working please tell me how. Also sorry for not showing you what the boot animation looks like due to being a newbie unable to post a link + gif file turn into jpg and mp4 being an invalid file :silly:
My boot sound problem:crying:
The boot sound I tried to put in system/media android_audio.mp3 not working system/media/ui PowerOn.ogg or PowerOn.wav not working putting the sound in the bootanimation.zip ( the sound file in bootanimation.zip name is bootanim.mp3 )still not working write s bootanim.mp3 in desc.txt still not working but one worked but that is not my bootanimation it is a xbox boot animation with sound for Sony Xperia SP user and all the boot sound location or whatever I tried above permissions is R-W-R-R
Others
my Sony Xperia SP android version is jellybean so there is no need to ask my android version ( just in case if it is kitkat ) because someone said boot sound don't work on kitkat
Before install wisdom
And whatever you do don't ask me how to fix a problem because I have no idea how :silly: except restoring from a nandroid backup of course and flashtool maybe
How to Install custom boot animation for beginners :highfive:
This boot animation is not flashable.
I think everyone already knows how to install boot animation right? :silly:
If not don't panic just install the zip copy or cut it to you phone (if you install the zip via PC, laptop or mac or whatever)
using a root file manager rename the old boot animation located at system/media, data local or system/customize/resource to something else :silly: or move it somewhere else or delete it then move my bootanimation.zip to system/media usually it's system/media your choice now change the permission to R-W-R-R reboot and enjoy?
