[Q] how to use helium to backup SD card data too - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

friends and developers please help me.....
i don't know i have posted this thread in the correct area!!! but i need really help....
i have reads all about helium backup(which is use to take backup of data in non rooted mobile) and used it and taken the backup of my datas of some games... but the problem is that i can only take the backup of 'data' not 'SD card data'... so i want to take the backup of both, wat to do???
if we can't then tell me how to move SD card data to internal data then i can easily take the backup of data with helium backup
and also tell me is there any way to save our games data(i.e, preferences, settings, etc) directly only on internal(called 'data) not on 'SD card data'

[Q] get backed up sd contents onto wiped sd card

Hi,
I backed my sd card contents to my pc, my rooted incredible was a mess it was running CM7. I wiped the card flashed PB31IMG, a stock+ ROM then flashed MIUI now how do I get my backup onto the phone? So my apps + all the information and upgrades are like they were. Ie. all the money and levels I have got to in a app such as drag racing, my Handcent settings messages etc.
I am not sure how to copy the just the names of all the folders so you can see them if that would be more helpful to you please let me know how. If I could get my backed up removeable disk on here without the files I dont need I would be so grateful. Thanks
If you made a backup before you flashed you will have to restore to the backup and backup the apps using titanium backup. If not, sorry, all is lost...

[Q]restore apps(with their saved files) after full wipe

Hi, is there anyway to backup apps so that i dont lose save files? (so i dont have to restart from the beginning of the game each time)
It'd be best if there was some way to move apps + their saves files to the external SD card (also is it necessary to format extSD card before flashing ROMs that need full wipe?)
I heard titanium backup might be able to do this, but if i full wipe my internal sd card titanium back up + backup file also gets deleted.
Thanks.

Does titanium backup also restore save files and settings?
It backups and restores the application data storage.
If an app stores it's saves or some content on the sdcard, then that particular conten is not stored since it technically does not belong to the app and thus Titanium has no way of knowing what to backup.
I can however recommend for savegames etc to sync those folders on the sdcard with Dropbox. Not only will you have an offsite backup but it also includes the history of the last 30 or 90 days so if you f%#@ up ingame you can restore your old save.

Which folders do I backup? does drop also back up the app itself
Back up everything just in case, it's there for if you ever need it.
Luckily I can help you as I made the mistake last night of restoring system data.
First of all back up EVERYTHING and place it in your external SD card if you wish.
When you've wiped the phone download Titanium Backup again and restore "missing apps + data" just the missing apps and data. Do NOT restore the system files, it will result in everything to stop functioning.

[Q] Help with restoring

hi
after installing cyanogen 10 on my s3 i need to restore my apps.
before flashing i use titanium backup to make a backup which is on my external sd card.
however when i try to load it on titanium backup it won t let me. it says that it cannot be accessed. also ive tried moving the backup to the internal storage and it wont let me move. it tells me to change my super user settings which i cant do.
Any ideas?
thanks

tit backup galaxy s3 internal/external sd card

My titanium backup only sees three user apps (no user apps are on external) when I try to back them up.
external stoage is set to sdcard0
backup diresctory is set to sdcard1/titabackup
What can I do to resolve this. I need to install and restore backups and it finds a directory with a lot of them but performs no action (ie recognizing them)
bump guys. I really need to know why Titanium backup isn't seeing all my user apps (it can only see 2) and how to resolve this :crying:
Solution: Back it up to the internal since it won't let you manually choose the directory. Drag and Drop it to your external. Redetect directory and all your future backups will be on your external now

[Q] Backing up to ext SD with Titanium Backup

With the onset of TWRP for all G3 variants, i am eagerly awaiting the first ROM to drop. With that being said, i am trying to backup all settings and apps with titanium backup to my external SD card, but when i go to change the backup location, i can't choose ext sd because "this folder is not writable". What do i need to do to get around this?
This app did the trick for me.

Worked like a charm. Thanks!
