Hello
Is it possible to decompile and compile .apk, lets say Settings.apk and remove a unneeded setting, but still be able to retain OTA update for that apk with settings.apk.p official patch file? And how?

Hello,
I have a question and, I did searched, but probably not good enough, now my question is, I want to change the battery icons and some more things, but I discovered that the Official KE7 firmware has a SystemUI.apk and SystemUI.odex
Now, is there a way to deodex is? So I can change some png's?
(I read also something about: xUltimate Main v2.2.8, that tool can deodex the SystemUI?)
Kind regards,
Viletung
Edit: I have deodexed the files using xUltimate, now I only need Settings.apk and SystemUI.apk back, can I overwrite them with the ADB (Push) and delete the Settings.odex and SystemUI.odex?
I have a request from devs..
I want to know how to make services.jar can make different sign apk run on rom without resign it thru kitchen...
hello everyone!
i just wanna ask...
i flash a deodexed stock rom (deodexed,pre-rooted)
and i start theming using apktool for android.
After modifying(e.g. Settings.apk signed with apktool for android) . it didn't shown up on my drawer
then i tried another method (Copying both orig META-INF and android manifest) then it shown up
I want to have tabbed settings.. but how can i make it if the modded app needs the original files (meta-inf and android manifest)..
some of my app are not working after recompiling and signing it with apktool for android...

i wonder how the devs makes changes on some system app

i need answers..
Hi everyone,
Firstly, if it's not the right forum, I'm sorry
I need a little help, I'm not sure if I need to zipalign et sign the framework.jar.
I modified it, and made an update.zip.
So, do I need to zipalign the framework.jar?
Do I need to sign it with my keystore? (the original one is not signed actually)
Do I need to sign the update.zip?
Do I need to zipalign the update.zip?
I suppose zipaligning is just needed for apk, but I'd like to be sure.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Hi guys,
I have a problem with my System.UI. I can't decompile it because I obtain always an error...in every programs (Tickle,Multitool...). I want to edit lines in .xml for my custom ROM.
However, with the Framework-res.apk or settings-apk it works perfectly. I don't understand...
So If someone could help me decompiling System-UI.apk with other method, I'd be very grateful to him
Of course I join two files (framework-res.apk and systemUI.apk) in attachment.
Thanks really
Bests regards
Nobody... ?
PLease

I have same problem. Hope to someone can help.????
Post the error log and maybe someone will help you. Posting the apks does nothing really.
Also if your making a custom rom but cant fix a simple error then you might want to rethink things.
Also if your building a custom rom then just edit the source before to compile the build.
Finally it works. Why ? I don't know lol
Maybe it is :
-I took systemUI.apk from stock ROM (yes i changed apk from stock ROM to try)
-or I deleted mediatek-res.apk of folder names ''other'' of APKmultitool
