Hi there.
I am on Orange U.K, and i have successfully flashed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1169409. Following this guide to flash the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1167373.
Many international users have flashed this ROM as well but REMEMBER to unlock your bootloader before even considering flashing this ROM.
When unlocking your bootloader, you will notice that you will only have around 300 total RAM but if you flash the hack relevant to your device, you will retain your RAM when you flash to Gingerbread.
Please follow the guide properly and don't skip any step. BTW, if your bootloader is not unlocked, we will probably be getting Gingerbread soon since the SOAK testing is about to begin very soon.
WARNING: Please don't flash this ROM if you are not confident or comfortable with it. Also, anything that happens to your phone is your responsibility. If you wait for a few days, maybe you will hear more about the SOAK test and maybe a release date for the official gingerbread ROM will be made available.

Hi, how is your phone? Is everything okay?
I've got a same version, and can' t find a suitable way to unlock it.
Good day, XDA. I'd like to ask help with regards to rooting my Xperia S. I have recently bought this and it got shipped with ICS 4.0.4 and build number 6.1.A.0.45 and I updated its build number to 6.1.A.2.45. I have also unlocked its bootloader successfully. Now I'm having problems on how to root this. I've read certain posts regarding ICS rooting and they all state that it has to have 6.1.A.0.45 build number. But I don't know how to rollback to the previous build number. What should I do?? Please help..

Just flash Advanced stock kernel v14 by arakmar via fastboot.
What will it let me achieve then, bro?
BTW, thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the link. but the link you gave is for GB and I am on ICS already. (I know, there is a way to flash to GB but... ) I will better wait for a perfect way for rooting a device with ICS on locked BL installed.
BTW, here
Also, you can never brick your device on LOCKED bootloaders so don't worry
DId he mean unlocked bootloader?

Only for unlocked bootloader... here is a step by step I put together using the information gathered from various threads here in XDA.. I have used this very same method for my phone, so it is definitely working.. if you run into any problem like not being able to get into the Fastboot mode, or I missed some file, let me know..

Thanks for this bro! I'll try this out later when I get home. Will my data be lost?
So essentially you are just replacing a stock kernel by a rooted kernel. What if I want to go back to the unrooted kernel?

Hey,
the official update (vers. 1.18.410.1) failed with my rooted HDX because the SD-card can't be mounted.
Whats the solution for that, is it possible to update it with CWM?
Thanks!

Hi, I got it working by flashing back to stock kernel which you can find on the last page of this treath: [REQUIRED]*Desire X Stock recovery.IMG. I also deleted the Superuser app but don't know if it was necessary.
Once update I flashed everything back as it was with CWM and Superuser. Hope it works for you
hey
thanks for answering so fast!
I gave it a try and flashed the original recovery but update still failed.
How can I delete the superuser-app? I can't delete or uninstall it.

Use a root file manager to delete the SuperUser app, and if you want to unroot then delete the su bunaru from system/bin.

Hi there.
I root the phone Desire X - branded firmware from T-Mobile PL.
/ v. 1.14.118.1 / showed me that it is a v. 1.18.118.1 update, downloaded but can not install. Shows verification error.
I did flash the firmware to the version v. 1.14.401.1 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941250
[DEVS ONLY] Stock, rooted, deodexed ROMs.
Now the phone does not show at all that is update to version 1.18.401.1.
How do I install this update?

I had the same problem. Solution? Flash the stock recovery (for me this one worked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35031493&postcount=25), and recheck for update in [Ustawienia->Informacje->Aktualizacje oprogramowania]. After installing stock recovery it updated fine (don't be scared when it reboots way too many times ). Then I reflashed CWM, rooted it again and it's business as usual.

Me either, except maybe a little faster, a lot of other people that upgraded ota instead of flashing the 1.18 RUU have had wifi problems. If you do update, use the 1.18 ruu, if your phone is european :fingers-crossed:

Before you do any rooting, check for an OTA software update because you're still on ICS... Most ROMs currently cater for JB hboot now.

So I will get that OTA update from HTC right ??
Yeah bud, in your About menu in Settings you can check for software updates. That comes from HTC, it gives you a new bootloader which allows for larger kernel partition. But you can only update if you are on the stock firmware that came with your phone and you are not rooted. You must also have the stock recovery.

JB doesn't really give me many problems. It definitely is faster than ICS and Google Now is a welcomed addition. My battery is pretty bad but it always has been, it's not JB specific for me.
