Hi I have Hi I have galaxy s plus i9001.
I have many software bugs and an old version of Android on the device.
I want to update to the newest version of Android.
For example, when I open my gallery and try to set up one of the pictures to background. it is written: gallery application have stopped unexpectedly.
How do I upgrade the operating system to the newest version of Android that would fit my device firmware?
or alternatively may i install a good rom for that, whatever that would help.
I'm really noob in Rom and all that thing.
this is why I will be thankful if you will give me a detailed manual.
Lots and lots of thanks Leeron..

Hi, all!
This is my very first post. Not even sure if there's a solution to this, tried searching but probably my keywords didn't exactly hit it.
I have a Huawei P9 Lite. I just received the OTA update for Nougat Beta with build number VNS-L31C636B331. My previous build was VNS-L31C636B170. I received the OTA update after I registered to become a beta tester. The installation was successful, things went running smoothly until I noticed my VPN app was closing when my phone is locked (even when I had it set to run after screen-lock). It got so annoying until I decided to reformat my phone. Things are running fine again, but some system or stock Huawei apps are missing, like calendar, clock, and calculator, to name a few.
Is there a way to download and reinstall these apps? And if so, are the downloadable apps already designed for Nougat on Huawei? Or are they from Marshmallow?
If there is no way to download stock apps, can I ask help to downgrade to Marshmallow? I'm planning to downgrade, and then tick back the Nougat update again from settings.
Thank you so much, guys!

I own a Xperia Z5C when there is a stock app missing on modded stock-roms i can download them by playstore.
I am looking to root my Galaxy View so that I can upgrade to a newer version of Android and had a couple of questions. What version can I update to without running into problems and will updating to a newer OS allow me to install apps that were not compatible before such as Teams? This is my first time rooting a device since my original Motorola Droid and much has changed it seems. Thanks for any help.
Idk why Samsung wouldn't continue to support their largest device on the market. Here's an idea why don't the apps just continue to support all devices they did use at one time. They already have the os so just but it back on the server like the current os is. So it's the app writers that's making devices obsolete.
Hello,
I have experience on building Android app and system app but now I wish to try to build a new ROM to update my device.
I am using a Chinese GPS device (GPS, sound, led, 4G) with Android KitKat. I have the ROM , can add/remove apps in the ROM but it's not enough, I wish to upgrade Android
I am a bit lost in what can be done or not.
I think it's not enough to build an Android ROM because it's necessary to have the drivers, I should be able to retrieve the drivers from my current rom ?
Anyone can give me some leads, maybe recommendations about how to start ?
If it can help, the chipset is SL8521E

no custom roms are available. I have a Samsung galaxy stellar sch-1200.
You can still use browser youtube for the 4.0.3 phone, albeit super slowly because new browser youtube is a fat bloated web 3.0 mess. No hope for the gingerbread phone without a custom rom, oldest version of android that'll work natively with the youtube app is 5.0.2 but 5.0.2 has a horrible memory leak so you should go for 5.1.1 if available. Sad to see kitkat being unable to use youtube even though it was last updated in like 2014, I'll try to see if I can backport a newer version of yt to kitkat 4.4.4 because it's really the newest version of android you'll want to run on a sub 768mb ram 1 core phone
