[Q] Best/Most Stable ROM for newly rooted Amaze? - HTC Amaze 4G

Recently rooted, on stock ICS and was looking to upgrade to at least 4.1+. There are many ROMs 4.1+ but some have Data not working, Bluetooth not working. I am looking for a custom rom that I can pretty much use like a daily (as long as essentials work...data/camera/text... I'm interested)
Appreciate any response, thank you.

I'll second this - never put on a ROM since there was so little development, but I'm getting to the point where it's either a new ROM or start planning for a new phone.

Greetings,
There is no such thing as a "Best/Most Stable" rom.
It's all a matter of personal opinion.
My advice is read and flash until you find something that meets your needs.

[Q] Best custom ROM

Hey guys.
I have SensatioN 3 ROM currently
As I'm fully aware now how to do everything, I want a different ROM, for playing with.
Preferences:
As good battery life as possible, good customisability, as fast as possible, and just general recommendations really?
Thanks
Oli
Give this a try.
I installed this one a couple days ago, runs sweet, no bloat.

Was using cyanogen 7 before that. Give it a go also. http://www.cyanogenmod.com/
Really again? Is it that hard to search?
And the answer is:
There is NO best custom rom.
Just try them all until you find one you like.

[Q] LG E-739 ROMs

I'll preface my post by stating that I'm fairly certain that no stable ROMs yet exist for this device; the only thing I've seen anyone running is CM7, and that still appears to be in development for the E-739.
That said, I'm coming to this phone (temporarily) from an HTC Sensation, which I love dearly. Going back to Gingerbread from a stable ICS ROM is frustrating, to say the least. The interface feels very dated, and I'm not a fan of the dock that LG implemented for the device. I'd like to be able to select which applications are in the dock, as with ICS. Ideally, I'd like to find a compatible ICS ROM. Based on hours of searching, one doesn't exist, but it can't hurt to ask.
So: has anyone had any success getting an ICS ROM on the LG E-739? Or perhaps a passable Gingerbread ROM? I really just need to rid myself of the ludicrous amount of bloatware that currently inhabits my applications folder... Thanks in advance!

2.1 to ics

Soooo i just bought a used vibrant off craigslist ($75), and i immediately wanted to update the software to ics. Checked the current firmware, was still the original 2.1!!!
So i come here to do my usual research, and quickly i realize that's its not as simple as rooting, flashing recovery and and is Rom....
With all the modems, bootloaders etc, i have no clue where to start. Im not asking for someone to link every file or anything ... But if anyone could break down the basics steps by step i would appreciate it very very much.
Thanks in advance for any help or even pointing me in the right direction.

Actually, it is rather simple to install ICS on your newly purchased Vibrant and thus it won't be long before you're enjoying the wonderful perks of Android 4.0. Simply follow this guide by Woodrube, it has everything you'll need. Step-by-step instructions and the required files.
Now the real question is, which ICS rom is the "best". In which case I'd suggest you to check out the ICZen rom found exclusively on the RootzWiki forum. Great help support and an overall great rom.

Thank you so much for your help.
After my first try with ICS, I loved it, however its not quite fully functioning enough to leave it on my wifes phone as a DD...
with that said, in your opinion, what is the most fully functioning GB rom available?? Im flashing Asgard 3.2 as we speak...
Thanks again for your input.

First, I'd like to say that I completely second noob's post. It was exactly what I would have wrote (except I would have done it way less neat and clean like lol)
But in terms of GB roms, there are quite a few good ones to suggest. Personally, I always found myself going back to 360's prime rom. It handled great, and often times gave me upwards of a day and a half on the stock battery, and 2 and a half on an extended one. Also, it's MIUI which is pretty neat, since it's entirely customizable. Anyways, if you're in the market for trying out some great GB roms, I'd certainly suggest checking out this thread at Rootz:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/24076-roms-6miui-gb-t959-vibrant-from-360-productions-compalation/
Good luck
Thanks for the nod N00B and Xeno.
If you find that you are having trouble with some things, there are plenty of people that can help. We have all been through the ringer so to say and have found work arounds for 99.9% of the errors. I know that N00B and myself are using Zen as our daily drivers (and probably Xeno too).
Some like Slim others like Passion and Euphoria but above all, I must forwarn you to look at the big grey warning in my ICS guide about the possibility of the Encryption Error. It is something that you'll need to decide if ICS is worth it or not.
If you decide that you want to put your wife on a stable 2.2 ROM, Fishman has a few nice Mods and Moped_Ryder just put out a stellar 2.2 that is fast, stable and EVERYTHING works (including GPS).

Well in terms of GB roms, I've only tried Miui. Before ICS became available to the Vibrant, Miui was my daily driver. Some of its key features is that it is very customizable, gave good battery life, and had a gorgeous UI.
If you need help installing it, check out my Miui installation guide. You can find a link here, stickied in the Q&A section, or below in my signature. PM me if you need any help or tips to get the most out of Miui (I know all the tricks to get Miui to run like a beast. So feel free to ask).

Ive ran MIUI on a couple different devices in the past (htc mytouch 4g, G2X), and while I have some friends who love it...it just wasnt for me. So I eventually landed on Biffmod which has seemed very stable, the best mods from CM7, and the gps works. One thing... between voodoo and DSP manager, after playing with the settings on here the sound is easily better than my SII... it sounds amazing in my Kicker headphones
Thanks again for all the help, dont think Ill end up giving this to wifey....may just keep it as a backup/mp3 player after hearing how clean the audio was

Here's a list.
check Android Developmen and Original Android Development. That is where you will find verizon SGS4 roms on XDA.
The Android Development section is mostly Touch Wiz based roms, so if you like the stock samsung software but wish it was way better start there.
The Original Android Development sections is mostly AOSP based roms, So if you are a fan of android the way google meant it to be only way better then head over there. Other kernels can be found there as well.
Generally threads like this get closed because of what they usually turn into after a few posts. Here is an example:

Only you know what you want so I suggest reading about each rom so you can make an informed decision on what suits you. Each rom generally lists all the features/tweaks baked in so there is no shortage of information regarding each rom. Hope you find what youre looking for.
Doing a little bit of reading goes a long way. Sent via tapatalk.

[Q] Suggested ROM --> stability is paramount

Hi there,
I have a i717. For the past several months, I had been running CM 10 stable build (10.1.3 I believe), but found it to be anything but stable...Lots of random reboots, screen no always very responsive on attempted wake...It got bad enough that I went back to my previous ROM, waaay back to FlapJaxx's Build 12. FJ's ROM is incredibly stable, always has been and I'm very tempted to just roll with this until my contract is up...but at the same time, this is Android version 4.0.4 so it makes me feel a bit old fashioned.
It seems much of the community here has moved onto other phones, so my options may be limited...but anyone got a shout out for a good STABLE ROM?
Besides the rock solid stability of FlapJaxx, I am also generally impressed with the battery life (on CM 10 it was pretty awful), and IMHO BLN is superior to Dynamic Notifications...
Now I am pretty sure that my reliance on BLN will limit my options, but I'm just curious what other options folks here might recommend.
Thanks in Advance.
If you want stable, stick with the stock 4.1.2 version. Or any stock version for that matter.
No one will be able to tell you what custom rom is stable but you. Not all devices will perform the same for 2 different people. What suits one person might not perform the same for another. Xda recommends you try all the custom roms and see what works best for you.
Thanks, clearly I've been out of the loop didn't even realize there was a stock JB update on the phone...I'll blame my kids
As near I can tell, if I want a rooted/de-bloated stock MD3 experience I'm looking at Padawan or Blackstar?
Since these use stock kernel, will BLN work or if I absolutely must have BLN working am I stuck with a 4.0.4 kernel?
Thanks again...

XDA is a development site not a support site. As such members are expected to do the research, read through the development threads and decide what is BEST for them. The only results that would be posted here are what each member has found to be BEST for them by experimentation based on their phone/usage/setup/apps/signal strength. Please take the time to read through those development threads to learn all about the software you are about to drastically alter your very expensive device with.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
