Question regarding status code in fastboot mode - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I am new to motorola so I am really unfamiliar with this device.. In the fastboot mode there is a string "status code", whose value was zero before unlocking and after unlocking it becomes three..
So my question is what is this? If i relock, will it be changed to zero?

Yup, AFAIK it will change back to 0...
This status code depends on the device status, i.e, whether its locked or unlocked...
Hope this helps... :good:

[Q] LWW | Unlock bootloader when not allowed

Hello
I currently own an Xperia Live with walkman which I upgraded to 4.0.4 ICS and rooted.
I'm interested on using custom ROMs so I need to unlock the phone's bootloader in order to install custom kernels.
In the service menu of the phone, rooting status says:
Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
I've read on other threads that this means that the phone also has a network lock, so even if I use the test point method to unlock, I won't be able to use fastboot mode.
However on the SIMLOCK menu of the service menu, all locks are disabled (And I confirmed it by installing another sim from a different phone company).
¿How can I unlock the bootloader (for free, hopefully), and will it work on fastboot mode?
I would advise you to try and go to fastmode connecting the phone to the computer while off and holding the volume up key, the notification led should turn on blue that means that you will have no problem flashing custom kernels but you will need to unlock the bootloader using the test point method.
Also you can double check if the boot loader is really locked in the service menu, software info, under the s1 Boot Version you will find something like this: 1241-3656 r9A029 the letter "r" here refers to the state of the bootloader the lower case means it's unlock meanwhile the capital "R" means its locked.

So, I will never be able to use fastboot?
Even if I unlock the bootloader through test points or the paid method?
Normally, you'd have to unlock it via Wotan Server. It erases SIM lock and unlocks bootloader. Don't know why your phone is already SIM unlocked, though.
Hi,
I have same problem, Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
On every test point tutorial I saw "if Bootloader unlock allowed: YES, than you can continue doing TP".
I want to unlock it, so I can flash CM9.
Can I still use TP to unlock my bootloader?
No, bootloader cannot be unlocked if fastboot is disabled.
The only way to enable fastboot right now is via paid method, which also uses the test point method. I am not sure, but I have heard that in some cases, that method unlocks the bootloader aswell.
So, no custom ROMs for me
So what's the verdict here?
Even though on my LWW I have Bootloader unlock allowed: NO I did the testpoint method to unlock the bootloader and it passed. Afterwards I have S1 Boot Version: r9A021 (notice the r) which means the bootloader is unlocked AFAIK. However I still have no access to fastboot. I can confirm that the phone is simlocked, and before having to pay to get it simunlocked, I want to make sure that doing so will finally enable fastboot.
Again, will having the phone sim-unlocked enable the bootloader to be unlocked, and more importantly gain access to fastboot?

Yes, the bootloader is unlocked, but fastboot is still disabled and phone SIM-locked. The only way to enable fastboot is via paid method.

That's exactly what I am asking. If the phone gets sim-unlocked, does that mean that fastboot will be enabled? What paid method are you referring to? Sim-unlock code? Or is there some other paid method?
Or to put it in better writing, what paid method is there to enable fastboot?

The paid-method is technically you go to your service provider, and ask them for an unlock code for your phone.Normally, you need to pay,but if you are lucky, they can give an unlock code for free :good:
The method to sim-unlock your phone (based on my reading in this forum ) is insert other SIM card that are different carrier, and turn on your phone. There will be a checkpoint which your phone asking for a code,at that time you insert the code that your service provider gave you,and after you enter the code, your phone will automatically sim-unlocked :highfive:
I'm sorry if some of my information is misleading,I hope someone can fix my mistake (if any though)
Or try this, who knows it might work?

I'm planing to buy an unlock code, just want to make sure that by simunlocking it will enable fastboot.
Only wanted to know if anyone knows that it is certain, because i have no need for simunlock other than enabling fastboot so I can flash kernels

I unlocked the sk17i of my son with another simcard and the code from my provider but... bootloader is still NOT allowed
Have you tried the testpoint method to unlock the bootloader?
Unlocking bootloader and sim unlocking both do separate things, but I'm hoping simunlocking + testpoint method will finally enable fastboot.
I'll purchase a simunlock code and post if that helps with enabling fastboot asap.

Unlock Bootloader never works...experts please i need advice and support :(

Hello XDA Community
I have had my Sony Xperia Z ultra Since last year and i've never been able to Unlock the Bootloader...whenever i've tried it just doesn't work almost makes me not want the device as i cant stand the stock Sony Xperia UI.
First off the normal method ive tried just never works
UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER:
This may wipe your phone, so backup your stuff
• Go to Sony's dev site
• Request the unlock key and check your mail straight away. Email is quick these days.
• Open Flashtool on your computer (yes, the one you installed earlier)
• Click the "BLU" icon
• Follow the steps and enter your unlock key
Quick note...If i type *#*#7378423#*#* into the keypad and continue the steps i get to the Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed and its always said Bootloader not allowed...now i don't know if that means anything or with a bit of hope ill still be able to Unlock my Phone...
My phone is a contract phone with o2 here in the uk and even trying to return the phone is impossible as they tell me all the time are you asking to unlock the device for use with a different network
I've done my best to explain to them no its the bootloader and they tell me i shouldn't be messing with the device etc etc etc etc.....
anyways theres no way of convincing them and am stuck with this exact phone...i dunno what else to do if even trying to unlock bootloader will ever work for me
" If Bootloader unlock allowed and its always said Bootloader not allowed."
Thats the problem.
You could look at installing a theme or maybe monx's ROM

This means that your bootloader is unlockable from the factory. There's no work around for this.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact - Locked Bootloader ???

Hi XDA
I recently acquired a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, but it seems that the bootloader cannot be unlocked (even after grabbing the code from Sony)
it says that the command isn't allowed, then I saw a post on a forum saying that not every bootloader can be unlocked.
I was wondering, since I have a unlockable* bootloader (which I assume there are ways to unlock it, because lets face it.. is there anything out there thats "locked" and hasn't been cracked into?
Anywho.
I have been to EVERY single "Phone repair / unlock" shop in my town, and none of them know what a bootloader is. So I decided to see if anyone here has managed to unlock their locked* bootloader.
If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be great.
Thank you.

It keeps saying I need to unlock the bootloader but it says when I try
"FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)"
This is what I mean.. I can't unlock my bootloader.
Unless I'm missing something?
Anyone?
Have you tried with SONY?
Perhaps the easier solution is to start from SONY itself....

Guys.. it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
Which means I can't use an official way to unlock the bootloader, what I need to know is if theres a different way I can unlock the bootloader. By flashing firmware, a different bootloader or any special utility to unlock the bootloader. Thanks
bump
Anyone able to shed light on this? I really don't wanna have to sell the phone due to the bootloader being locked..
Especially not after scoring 43,000 in Antutu
are there such thing as a custom FTF file I could flash with a locked bootloader?

[ANE-LX1] OEM Unlocking

I bought ANE-LX1 (P20 Lite) on June 2018 and immediately unlocked the OEM from the developer options (automatic factory reset was done then), but i never rooted or installed custom rom, recovery...etc.
All updates was normally arriving and i was updating my phone regularly (current build is: ANE-LX1 8.0.0.170(C185)).
I decided to root my device using fastboot, but when the device is in recovery mode i can see:
Code:
Phone Locked -- (in green font color)
FRP Unlock -- (in red font color)
When i try to flash using fastboot i got:
Code:
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
While searching online i found that Huawei decided to lock bootloader for all users (so we buy their hardware which contains an opensource software and then they lock it... PERFECT!), and it seems that the only way now is to get the unlock code by contacting third-party codes providers, pay money and they guarantee to provide the correct unlock code (pay and pray) + I will have to expose my device information.
My questions are:
-How can i see in the developer options that my OEM is already unlocked, while the recovery is not convinced?
-Do i really have to unlock it again with the code "after purchasing it ofcourse -- which i will never do" (e.g. using fastboot)?
-Is there any solution from xda experts for my case rather than buying codes and exposing my device information or stay with a Locked bootloader?

and Thanks Huawei for putting us as a development community in this situation, where we have to pay for the black markets to unlock our own phones in an unofficial way.

IMEI, product S/N (if i correctly understood the process, i have to provide my device info so they can extract the bootloader unlock key)
According to the information that's available, the code used to unlock the bootloader is unlocked in a very complicated way and it's basically unique for everyone. Now, I don't know how much this is true and how and why these people got their hands on the "method" of creating the code, but no one has been able to find a way that's guaranteed to work or even work at all, except for, of course, these sites that make you pay for it. I hope I'm not mistaken and forgive me if I am, but I don't think there is any way to obtain the bootloader code manually or without exposing your information to random strangers on the internet.
Need to unlock bootloader with dc unlocker to get unique unlock code. Look guide bootloader unlocking

Question bootloader unlock

Hello Everyone,
is there a proper way to unlock the bootloader of the xperia pro-i? The sony webpage doesnt have this model available for the code request, so i'm a bit lost on how to do this. Thanks a lot for your help!
actually figured it out - on the sony site you can simply select the xperia 1 III, enter the imei and it will give you the correct code. Also if you want to relock the bootloader its the same command just with lock: fastboot oem lock 0x[your code]. Hope it helps.

I tried this and did get an unlock code, but when I went through the procedure on the Sony website it returned "no" meaning my bootloader cannot be unlocked. Did you get this result and how did you get around it?

I got a code selecting xperia 1 IV. Threw my valid and some random imeis with the last digits altered at it and it seems to always give the same key (17E1B6ED42D0F719), you could just try that maybe? (at your own risk, I know nothing about this stuff) Haven't been able to use it yet myself, as I have some fastboot driver issues to solve first... xD

No. I have learned that the US version of this phone (XQ-BE62) appears to be the only one that can't be rooted. Thanks Sony.
