I just bricked my xp.
Firstly, even though there was no OTG connected, i got otg power consumption error and the battery kept on draining even when my charger was connected.
Then, when the phone was off, i connected it to the wall charger. It did not switch on, it was like a semi bootloop where it kept on showing kernel name, the restarting.
So i went into CWM and tried backing up. During backup, the battery ran out and there was the hard brick.
power button, charger, vol up down not responding.
Any help appreciated.
I love god
WOW,
i got so angry that i threw my phone down, and it stated to work,

I was taking a video, and finished it, when suddenly the phone froze up and turned off. I've been using MIUI, and while it's mostly pretty stable, reboots and crashes happen, so I just rolled my eyes. But since then it's been completely dead. I couldn't turn it on, even after taking the battery out several times, can't put it into recovery or download modes, and it's been connected to the charger for about ten minutes now and still nothing.
I haven't flashed anything for ages, haven't done anything odd with the phone at all, I have no idea what could have provoked this. Please help, I can't imagine what I'd do if my phone was permanently dead.
Samsung Galaxy SII with MIUI weekly ROM (currently 2.4.27)
Things I have tried:
Long press power button to turn it on (obviously)
Same thing after taking the battery out for ages
Press Vol up + Home + Power to put it into recovery
Press Vol down + Home + Power to put it into download
Plug it into charge
Plug in data cable connected to computer
Take out battery for a while, then replace, plug data cable into computer (but not phone), hold volume buttons while plugging in phone (internet guy told me to)
Everything above shows absolutely nothing on screen. Charging heats it up a little.

Just another try:
Maybe only the screen is "defect".
Boot into download mode - even if the screen keeps black.
And connect the phone via USB cable to your PC.
If the PC recognizes the phone, you could try to flash another ROM (with Odin).
If not ... is your phone still on warranty?!
Good luck !

Nope. Not a bad idea though. I wondered if the screen was broken, but then there should be vibrate and boot audio when it boots up.
Take the battery out dude, leave it out for 3 mins, then put it back in, then try accessing download mode (vol down + home + power)

Same issue.
Sorry for the thread resurrection, but I have the exact same problem as the OP. Only I wasn't even using my phone when it died it was just sitting on the side.
The 'back story':
My phone died whilst doing absolutely nothing. I tried plugging it in to charge and it came up with theimage I've attached below, and it just flashes on and off the screen at random intervals.
I tried recovery - nothing.
I tried D/L mode - worked once but got the 'battery too low - cannot download' error and it hasn't worked since.
Tried 2 different batteries - nothing.
Removed the battery for 10 minutes and retried - nothing.
Removed the battery while keeping the phone connected to the charger - nothing.
Connected phone to PC with original cable - nothing.
The top of the phone also gets hot when trying to charge.
Cannot attach the image yet as I can't post outside links...
But the symbol is the greyed out battery with the 'loading' ring.

same here, can't get it to do anything. tried booting to odin, pressing up after the right sequence (while screen was black). i hear the usb device make a sound on the pc, but nothing shows up on the ID:COM port in Odin.
Maybe your battery is messed up. Try using someone else's battery to see if it will turn on.

Do you even have an I9100 ?
All you need is a USB jig which will force your phone to enter into download mode. USB jigs are small devices which are very helpfull if something goes wrong while flashing. You can buy a USB jig directly from ebay, it is for about 4$ - 5$ or you can make one home yourself. It's not very hard.
Check out this link to make your own USB jig.

Hi!
My phone did some strange things in the last 10-15days so i decided to do a factory reset format the userdata and the sdcard and reinstall every app i need.
After the factory reset the phone boot up, clicked "next-next-finish" so the main screen was seen, after this i turned it off, removed the sdcard, formatted it, but the pone didnt boot up anymore.
With usb cable nothing happens. (nothing happens on pc nor on device manager)
Battery: 100%, Display 100% ok.
Already exchanged the mobo since i had one as backup but i would love to recovery the old one.
Update: the phone is warm (not hot) after a couple of minutes on charger, and now i check it after 10 minutes plugged off from charger it is still warm at the cpu area.
Tried the forced upload mode (vol + and vol - and power button), without battery power button plugging in charger 30sec etc method. nothing helps.
Still looks like the phone is somehow alive since it is warm am i right?
Any suggestions?
thanks a lot!
i bought a jig usb dongle, i give a try. but until it arrives all the suggestions are welcome
update2: jig did not help get into download mode.
I installed the GSAM battery monitor root companion. When it asked me to reboot I pressed reboot. Screen then froze and then went black when I hit the power button. Phone is now dead and unresponsive. No lights when plugged into the charger. Sound does play when phone is connected to the computer, and shows in device manager as Android Phone under Other Devices and HTC One_M8 under Portable Devices, which makes me think I can bring it back, but so far no luck. :crying: Phone is rooted and s-off.
Phone finally restarted after what seemed like an eternity. I was pressing combinations of the power and volume buttons, and I'm not sure if it was something I did or if the phone just finally rebooted on its own. I wasn't completely freaking because the phone was still showing as HTC_One_M8 in device manager, and not QHSUSB_DLOAD or something like that, but in any event that was pretty scary. GSAM root companion tells me it's now property installed. I've seen at least one other post in the reviews for the app of something like this happening to someone else, so I don't think it's just me.

Next time you brick, hold vol up and power for 10 seconds with phone unplugged. Then either power on or hold power and vol down to enter boot loader. This works best when not plugged in.
Thanks. I was trying to remember the key combo for a simulated battery pull, and I guess power+volume up is it. I think that's what I was doing when it finally restarted.

Thank you !
You saved my life, I had the same problem !
:victory:
For the first time I am actually afraid I really managed to brick my phone :-/
I recently flashed ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.3-20160822 but had some problems with the camera, hence I tried flashing gapps and google camera again, resulting in a boot loop, without the rom on internal storage. since resurrection came with CM recovery which couldnt access the sdcard storage there seemed to be no other way than to flash twrp recovery. After trying fastboot with a successful flash but still only going to cm recovery I flashed a zip with adb sideload containing twrp+stock kernel but possibly for a different device.
NOW my z ultra does not turn on anymore when pressing power, no reboot with vol down + power, no charging led when connected to charger, no fastboot with vol up and plug in and not even flashmode vol down plug in to reflash ftf.
The only thing I can make it do is hold power and volume up to make it vibrate 3 times.
I am really stumped, is this an actual brick or is there something else I can do?
please please please help me
edit:
tried pressing the red button on the inside as well, same behaviour as vol up + power. I have it connected to the wall charger it came with and the usb cable from my shield tablet (which I consider reliable) and hopefully charging.
ok so I let it charge over night and was presented with a continous red LED in the morning. When I connect it to my computer in any way (vol up down does not make a difference)
and flashtool shows repeatedly this:
02/033/2016 13:33:26 - INFO - Device disconnected
02/033/2016 13:33:53 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
02/033/2016 13:33:53 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
02/034/2016 13:34:01 - INFO - Device disconnected
Rebooted the computer, put the phone back on charger, two hours later I don't get a connection to the computer anymore. Right after plugging the phone in there is no charging LED indication whatsoever. I suppose when the battery is "full" it changes to constant red.
Maybe the battery is just dead, although I don't understand how that would have been possible. It did charge via usb now for +12h. Still in only red Led stage. when unplugging the LED blinks 3 times indicating a low battery which seems unlikely. I have switched to the magnet charger now, maybe this might do something, but it might just as well being similar symptoms from an entirely different problem.
I could replace the battery but I wont order one without anyone confirming that it might be the right move
tried reconnecting the battery like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ7nYfN_4eE
in fact with the disconnected battery I get red flashes but on reconnecting the phone does not boot up.
ordered a new battery..
installed new battery
plugged it into the wall charger, no charging LED
volume up + power gives me the force shutdown 3x vibrate pattern
screen does not turn on
connecting it to the pc with vol up, vol down, nothing pressed does nothing
help me please, I don't know what else to try?
Have you tried the original Sony flashing tool, maybe it works at a lower level before recovery kicks in?
Hi All.
As you can read in the title, my m4 aqua is stuck in "some kind of bricked mode". Not the first time this happen to my m4, but this time, the way I used to fix the problem doesnt work.
Everytime my m4 runs out of battery and it shuttoff itself, turns bricked. Then I plug to the charger and push Vol UP + Power button. After this method my m4 aqua comesback to life with no problems.
A few days ago the phone runs out of battery again so here we go... I press Vol UP + Power button and wait a few seconds but, this time it doesnt work! Tried few times, connected to AC, connected to PC, without connect... nothing works! No leds responses.
When I plug to PC, and I keep pressed Press Vol UP + Power button, Windows sound loops (USB connected, USB disconnected, USB connected, USB disconnected, USB connected, USB disconnected, and on and on...) Nothing more.
I Tried to press Vol DOWN before connect AC or PC, I tried Vol UP + Down + Power button... 10 seconds, 20, 30... Every posible way that I have found in google , forums like this, Xperia companion...
I would like to get my personal data back out before send the phone to sony but I think I have tried almost everything.
Please some help would be amazing.
Thanks in advanced.
Charge it all night, if battery is dead it will take some time to recharge.

Thanks but, no leds signals, not charging. I think the battery is ok but it cant be charged due a software o "brick" problem. Anyway Ive been charging for a few days.
