Hi, i'm currently using australian s5 which is running on 4.4.2. Currently the australian versions have no auto rotation option in gallery so users have to manually rotate each photo in order to change the direction n i guess this is not applicable for international versions.
can someone please post the steps and gallery apk of international versions of galaxy s5. So i can then start using auto rotation in the app
Tried downloading the apk from different forum . After installing zip via recovery. the app is crashing.

Same here also no edit options on home screen due to apple copyright bullcrap
The auto rotate is not due to the gallery apk it is a csc feature. Looks in others.xml in csc folder and delete or change the line for rotate button for gallery
If you use xposed you could also use an app to force rotation like App Settings. Its what I did on the S 5 port on my note 3.

I'd like to know something about galaxy s 2 home rotation.
I've bought this device yesterday.It is branded (the operator name is 3) and i have updated it to the latest firmware (2.3.5 trough kies).Now i have the base band version I9100NEKI2 and the build version gingerbread.XWKI8.I haven't noticed befroe upgrading if the home automatically rotates with the device...i have noticed that the rotation happens in any other situations such as writing sms..modifying settings...i'd like to know if this is the standard behaviuor for this device..for example is a limitation of thr new firmware ... or someone can help me understanding if i have made something wrong?i have to use 3d party apps for doing this? Do you mean how to prevent auto rotation? It's located in the drag down notification panel or in the settings..

Well home screen does not rotate.
TW doesn't allow home rotation.
If you want to do that you just have to install another launcher from the market (Go Launcher, Launcher Pro, ...)
One annoyance of the this phone is that when I try to set a JPG to be a homescreen wallpaper, the aspect ratio that it allows you to crop to is for exactly one screen. Not a big deal if you use Touchwiz since the background doesn't scroll. But for most other launchers (I use Nova), it looks retarded having black space to the left and right of the central image.
Anyone find a workaround for this?

Yes, you need to use the stock ICS Gallery app to do it.
I just figured this out as I am using Trebuchet, there's a thread regarding replacing apps with their stock android counterparts here:

Note that you don't have to replace the TouchWiz Gallery app, you can have both (I do atm since that thread said replacing it broke the camera preview).
Just open the wallpaper you want in the ICS Gallery app and set as wallpaper within it so you can properly crop it for scrolling.

Sorry if I'm being dense, but when I try to install the Gallery2.apk, it says something about replacing a system app. How did you get it to have dual install?
I just copied Gallery2.apk into the system\app folder and installed it - just hit yes. It won't replace the TouchWiz Gallery app. You get that 'replacing system app" thing with anything you install to system/app it seems... got that when I installed Trebuchet as well, and had both it and TouchWiz accessible till I deleted SCLauncher2 or whatever it's called.

That's what I did, and it installed the new gallery. But when I hit the ICS gallery icon in the app drawer, it just launches the Samsung gallery...although when I hit set as, crop picture using ICS gallery, it works fine. I still can't just launch the ICS gallery though.

Wallpaper Wizardrii lets you crop the image anyway you want, it's in the Play Store.

Go into Application Manager -> All
and scroll down to both Gallery apps. You may need to clear Launch By Default on them both so you can pick which to use again.
Hello, i have a i9305 device and i updated to 4.4.4 kitkat as soon as it has been released and there are a lot of features missing from 4.3.
For example, on 4.3 you had many gestures options, like tap to go top page, or shake to refresh. That kind of features are just missing.
Other thing i notice related to gestures:
When you use the phone after factory reset for first time, if you select a shortcut from the desktop you will be notice to turn a gesture on wich allow you to rotate screens by keep pressing the icon and rotate the phone using the gyroscope. If you refuse to turn on for the first time, even if you go to settings / gestures, you dont have any option to turn that on again. The same happens when you go to gallery.
Other thing, scrolling wallpapers, i know it has been turned off many time ago in 4.2.2 JB, but it was a bad idea. There are a lot of non used "animated wallpapers" wich no one uses. Why the scrolling wallpaper? Its the better one.
Other bad features: They updated to 4.4.4 kit kat, but the items still be almost the same. There are a lof of low cost samsung devices with the new icons, new camera app etc etc, why does the samsung s3 doesnt have that?
And now my biggest problem, the camera app.
All new samsung devices, even the ones just costing 100€ on fisic store have the new camera app wich allow you to have a button to select the shooting modes, and the newest devices have the new camera app with option to download mods. Why does the s3 not? Here, in portugal, the s3 lte its more expensive than s4 and even more expensive its worse than s4.
Do you know if a upgrade to lollipop is comming? Do you think they will fix that stuff in lollipop?
By the way: I want a camera app like lenovo camera app or s4 camera app on s3. The thing is, that camerera apps crashes when you do some stuff. Do you know how to get one full working on s3 kit kat?

I installed Samsung Good Lock from the Samsung Galaxy Store and most of the Samsung Good Lock apps are there except for one, NavStar. However, since I have a Galaxy smartphone, I was able to get the NavStar app from it, copy the apk over to the Tab S6 and install it.
Using NavStar, I'm now sporting five options instead of just the default three. Along with the default Home, Back, and Recent apps, I've also added two more for Internet (Chrome) and Refresh. Not to mention that I have my own icons for each instead of the default icons. Nice!

I did the same thing thanks for the tip! I wonder why samsung doesnt allow us to install navstar from the samsung app store onto the tab s6 directly it works just fine sideloaded
How were you able to launch the app?
I installed the apk, but there is no shortcut to open the app.
You need to use 'Nicelock' to launch it. It's in the play store.
I have Nova Launcher and used Nova Launcher's activities to create a shortcut to the NavStar app's MainSettingActivity after I installed it.

UPDATE!
I just opened Good Lock on my Tab S6, and NavStar is now listed! So, there's no longer a need to sideload it anymore. Enjoy!

Hi,
Is there a way to use the oneui of 3.1 on our phones using oneui 3.0?
I want it so much for being able to use google discover instead of the samsung daily.
I know there are 3rd party launchers and are pretty good but do not work well with android 10 gestures (back,home,recent) on samsung.
Btw, i tried to download the oneui home apk from apkmirror, it fails to install.
I got the app to install using app cloner but unfortunately the home screen crashed. The app switcher screen did work though. The app switcher now has a blurred wallpaper background.

Just cloned it with default settings. Launch it and let it crash. Clear data and let it crash again. Then clear data again and this time grant all permissions. And launch and hopefully it won't crash.
I used this method to get one ui 2.0 launcher on one ui 1.0 Galaxy s8.
