Hello my friends, I need your help
I had bought a mobile x10a from canda
i bought it from a telecommunications company at $ 240
Is a device used is not new
The problem is that the device does not accept any SIM CARD .. Only offering from the company
So .. I've bought from the company code to make the device work on any sim card at $ 35
The company is a code that puts in the phone and I'm not I who put it
Mobile version 1.6 ... So .. I want to update to 2.3.3
Can I do it without problems??? Or will I need to buy a new one to break the code
What is your opinion in this problem?? ... Please help me
I think SIM Card lock will not affect the update process. Be easy my friend.

Code has been developed by the company and I do not have a copy of it
This is the last comment I will make on this topic it is getting annoying now. The code is PERMANENT. I know that because...that is what the code is supposed to do. PERMANENT UNLOCK. It doesn't matter if you root it, update it, go back to 1.6 or go to 2.1 or go to 2.3.3. It will ALWAYS STAY UNLOCKED. Please stop asking questions over and over again. If you do not believe me than that is your problem.
thank my friend for you comment
Hello Guys
I have a stupid question, can someone tell me how to unlock Xperia S so that I will be able to use any sim from any network? I have a chance to buy Xperia S on Monday but it is locked to 3 network in UK and I'm currently in Tesco Mobile. Please can someone help asap. Thanks
Maybe if you flash a world generic firmware.
Next time ask in Q&A forum.

Is that it? God I thought it will be much harder because I couldn't find it anywhere how to do it. The only way to do it I found was to buy an unlock code for £44 . Sorry for posting here, next time I will write in Q&A if I will have a problem like that. Thanks for your help

I just phoned o2 as they are my network provider and they gave me the unlock code, put a different SIM card in from a different network and put in the code.
I thought they had to.
Cheers,

Ask your carrier to unlock it.

But I'm buying it from someone who just got his upgrade but he doesn't want it so do you think they will do it for me too?

For most carriers it's against the contract to resell locked devices.

That's why I am informing you. If you ask them to unlock a phone that was sold as a contract violation, it won't do you any good.

This would be the case if the original person bought it with contract. But if he got it sim free( pay as you go), then it is legal.
To answer the original question, the only way is to phone three themselves and ask for unlocking code, I think it is 20-30 pounds
I recently bought the Xperia U for my partner that was locked to the 3 network. They will unlock it, BUT the person on the contract will have to make th call and they will supply him with the code, can take up to a week for it as it comes from Sony themselves. I think the cost was about £15 for it.

Since the Unlocking Tool is from Motorola, will it allow the Photon Bootloader to be unlocked without disabling 4G/WiMax on custom ROMs that require an unlocked bootloader?

No. Doesn't currently work with photon. This can easily be found out by looking at the supported devices.

It's not on the unlockable device list, but it may be in the near future.
We can sit around and wait for Motorola to do it. Or we could all sign an online petition and show them how big the community is, and how much business they'll loose if they don't unlock bootloaders!

Already been done. Either they will or won't and I think they've already decided which way they plan on going. I don't believe that anything that we do now will change their mind.

Has anyone actually tried getting it to work on the Photon 4G?

When was that petition make? We should make it again anyway to remind them we are still a big community, just in case they have forgotten us xD
What can we loose?

The clock to unlock a new mobile phone is running out.
In October 2012, the Librarian of Congress, who determines exemptions to a strict anti-hacking law called the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), decided that unlocking cellphones would no longer be allowed. But the librarian provided a 90-day window during which people could still buy a phone and unlock it. That window closes on Jan. 26.

Luckily, Jailbreaking and etc. is still legal.
That's not related to bootloader locking, only carrier locking.

I wanted to make sure that was clarified. This is a much bigger issue on GSM, and people who have only been on CDMA might not even be aware of the distinction.

And completely inapplicable to people with Verizon phones, like the Rezound.
Why after so many months, there are still no custom roms being made for this phone? Is it because of the second screen or because no one cares enough to do one?
Because of the locked bootloader

Can't you use the TMO variant with some random small-dollar plan for just a couple months, pay off the phone, then take it to Verizon unlocked?

AFAIK, Verizon checks MEID from their inventory table and won't allow activation if it is not in their inventory table.

Verizon would never activate it on their network anyways, so it doesn't matter. They whitelist IMEIs.

I figured being similar to the g4 we wouldn't have issues getting a rom from a dev. I read a post from someone saying they were able to get a g4 rom to flash on the v10.

My thoughts exactly
The lack of development for this phone is the main reason I wish I didn't get this phone.
It's interesting that there isn't much development on this phone considering its one that seems to appeal to power users with Microsd support, battery removal and the secondary screen.
Well, I would think someone would have to figure out root first since the tmobile version is the only one with root so far.
People seem to be trying but it's slow going!
