Hello.
Although I have been a member of XDA for years, this is my First Topic.
I Bought a Galaxy Mega SGH-M819N (MetroPSC) a few months ago. Until now the only Changes I made to was Rooting.
I never really had much luck on Mirroring with it (Mirroring, not Streaming). I Tried with Chromecast and had no luck at all, It kind of worked with EzCast, but it lagged a lot. Tried a few other apps but didnt work.
So, with Chromecast support on phone with Android 4.2+ and the implementation of Cast Screen, I decided to install a Custom ROM.
I followed the Tuts step by step.
Installed Recovery with Odin.( TWRP and CWM did not work right, so I finally made it work with "Philz Touch").
The first Rom I Tried was CyanogenMod11 : 20140728 [4.4.4] with GAPPS 4.4.3
Right off the bat "Cast Screen" worked, and I had a lot of fun with it. Then when I allowed Google App Services to update, "Cast Screen" Stopped working.
Then I Tried Paranoid Android 4.45 : [08-01][4.4.4] with GAPPS 4.4.4. which I found to be a better ROM, but from the start “Cast Screen” did not work.
I believe it has to do with GAPPS, if anyone have it working with SGH-M819N (MetroPSC). Please let me know.
Also…. LTE is not working for me, I have tried adding manually like says on this Thread but had no luck, It seems its only working on some phones. If there another work around please let me know.
If anyone have a Stable ROM with everything working, please post it here so I can try it out.
Once I have my phone working flawless, I will make a Tutorial with Step-by-Step instructions with links and everything so Dummies like me can Understand what to do.
Please try to keep this topic SGH-M819N (MetroPSC) specific phones to make it clear to MetroPCS user.
Although other topic says something about SGH-M819N, some newbies like me get confused with what works on our phone and what does not.
Thank you!

The best rom bar none is the rom in my signature. This phone feels slower than my S2 did. However, with the Megafire rom it feels a lot zippier. I would have gotten rid of this phone if not for the Megafire Rom.
MegaFire Rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608110
MegaKat - Works but the WiFi is an issue because we need the band from MetroPcs and they have not provided a ROM, GRRR
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-mega/development/megakat-deodex-v1-kk-rom-t2813349
Do you have the "stock Kit Kat MetroPCS"?
Solution
After searching alot and testing a bunch of stuff I finally found the solution.
Right now I'm using the This ROM with the provided GAPPS
Everything works fine so far.
To make the "Cast Screen" Work, just Follow this Thread.
Happy Screening!

Hey i'm somewhat new. I apologize if this has already been discussed, i did a search first...didn't find what i was looking for.
I have the galaxy sgh-i777. Just wondering if anybody knows if a version of cyanfox is available with android 4.4.2 for the i777? i've tried to flash the version i found onto my phone and everything works perfect except the phone calls, but i love the ROM and would like to know if anybody made it work on the i777.
Thanks!
Are you talking about porting the i9100 version? I haven't tried it, but a quick glance at the OP over there made no mention of phone issues, so I'm "guessing" it's something you did or didn't do when you flashed. One thing the OP states is you must use their gapp package, not the various others floating around. Did you install Cyan's? Also, check which modem you have; AOSP-based roms don't generally flash modems, but it's a good place to start.
Hi, please to anyone who still has a galaxy s4 or remembers there best rom(stock) from the old good days, please read this and help me out. Thanks!
I am looking for a stable stock rom on kitkat that has the stock camera and stock launcher.
I'm not doing this for myself but for my uncle because hes s4 keeps rebooting and going into safe mode for no reason at all and says lags a lot...
So, out of all of these roms out there I came across this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50359886#post50359886 and thought it'd be a good one but I'm not sure about if it comes with stock launcher and camera & if the latest version that is released has a dark theme.(because his/hers older ones says dark and light but the latest doesn't.)
I tried youtubing videos about it and also about stock roms but can't find the answers I'm looking for and if I had the s4 myself I'd flash it to try it out but I don't so I really really need someone who has one or remembers there best stock rom that they used when s4 was great. Thanks!
(I really need 10 post too lol so I can post in the actual thread so then that'd help a lot..... so yeah but maybe someone will help me out here but so far I've got nothing but 1 person but still hasn't answered everything I need help on )
Edit:
Totally forgot lol.... it has MDK on Verizon and not sure of the recovery it has on it though.... & it's on 4.2.2 never updated)

Well, just get the 5.0.1 Google play edition... Look in the Android Development section...
Hello everyone, I just joined after installing 6.0 on my Asus tf201. I have flashed ROMs from hairybean up to 6.0 and back as well as bricked this poor tablet several times. I have also replaced android with various versions of Linux using other sites so I'm no stranger to playing with nvflash and fastboot. I can also do some how-tos if anyone wants, anyways I made this thread cause I have a weird issue, I downloaded Super SU twice and both times TWRP 2.8.1.5 (I might have the numbers wrong) just rebooted like it was a soft crash or something. I would post in the thread I got the ROM from but I don't have enough posts yet, would an older version work without issue or do I have to just deal with no root ATM?
The version of Super SU that I'm trying is 2.52 BETA as the post specified that one but doesn't say if an older will work. I look forward to having a great time here, and I welcome any and all feedback.
Thank you for your time.
Tiger
Tiger,
I'd just update the recovery to the latest Area 51 version. It's got a few new features that are pretty slick. From there, grab one of the SU's from one of Taconikki's Rom's. They worked for me every time.
O
I can use a howto which is current if anyone has one for flashing from stock.

If you still need a how-to Ill get started on it, if you do I just need to know if you have done any backups or anything in case you brick the tablet. Mine is currently running android 7.1, I havent checked to see if 8 is available yet (presuming someone ports it of course) and Ill even cover how to go back to stock if you need that info as well.
Thanks! I finally did upgrade it to 7.x and am waiting to see if someone gets an oreo build

I keep checking every now and then, but my tf201 keeps randomly rebooting, so it hasnt seen much use as of late. I am currently working on porting ubports (formerly ubuntu touch) to my galaxy note 4 though. I might try and get it on my tf201 eventually cause when I tried it on there it was butter smooth and tank reliable. I switched it back to android cause there were no apps at the time and the build has been abandoned since then, so who knows.

You should not waste your time installing a CM12 ROM. There have not been any CM updates to our phone for quite a while. There are better Lollipop and Marshmallow ROM's located under the AT&T Optimus G Android Development section of this forum. I would go with one of links to the ROM's listed below:
Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...-resurrection-remix-updated-11-18-15-t3253357
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-att/help/android-m-e970-t3128048/page2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...t/rom-dirty-unicorns-updated-4-20-16-t3362870
I have personally used the Lollipop and Marshmallow Rom's from the first two links and they work fine for me. I have heard great things about the Dirty Unicorns marshmallow Rom, which can be found clicking on the third link I posted, so I may give that one a try. Remember to update your recovery if you plan on going with the newer Rom's. Dirty Unicorns recommend using the latest version of TWRP (3.0) for our phone which can be found here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-att/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-0-0-t3309974
I downloaded the recovery fix located toward the very last post on the link above and it worked fine. Good luck and read through the links to decide which Rom is right for you.
Greetings everyone
I have this awesome tablet for my young son who loves to watch YouTube kids
The current FW which is an OFW will not permit the DL of YouTube kids I think due to compatibility issues etc.
I ask anyone to advise on how to load a CFW or something to allow me to run YTK and other items. Obviously I would need android 5 or higher.
Where could I find step by step instructions to do this? I am not sure of the detailed ways so I am needing patience from you.
I would appreciate all the help, so will my son
Thank you
Have you tried rooting it? What model is your tablet - 10.1?

Try the 7.1.2 Nougat Rom
I prefer Nougat without gapps and overclock the CPU to 1400 MHz.
https://www.google.nl/amp/s/forum.x...elopment/rom-android-7-0-nougat-t3471350/amp/
Good luck
I have the 10.1 GT-P 7510 I had XDA root it for me through their 1 click root system because I didn't want to take the chance on messing anything up because you read so much online about people bricking devices trying to root them. I also have kind of the same question, I have an old version of Netflix on mine that runs perfect but would like to go to a newer version, and I would also like to install kodi or xbmc on this tablet so I can take it with me on trips and be able to watch movies. after extensive searching I was able to find out that supposedly kodi 14.2 helix will work on this tablet, but trying to find it is essentially impossible, and when you do find the file it always seems to be broken in some way and wont work, supposedly there is a program called SBMC which is a fork of kodi for this device, but can't find that one anywhere. so my question is this because I am so new to this rooting thing. My tablet is already rooted with Super SU and I would like to know where I could look to get instructions how to install the nougat 7.1 rom or even a different rom to be able to go to some newer apps at this point I have been a little timid about doing too much because at least Netflix is working, and the xda tech told me not to factory reset it update it and a few other things, and a few other things because then it won't be rooted. any help in this will be very much appreciated and please feel free to move this post if it is in the wrong area and I apologize it is my first time posting. I will say this though it was well worth the 40.00 to have xda root it for me because it can be a bigger process than people think depending on the device the guys are awesome.

I also have a 10.1 GT-P 7510(wifi) 32g. The P7500 and the P7510 are basically the same and use the same firmware. I've had mine rooted for a long time. I use Kingoroot because it's easily replaced with Supersu. As far as ROMs go I've had only difficulties. What I can tell you is that for myself this has been a little difficult up til possibly just recently. There are many ROMs available here at XDA, most of them were unstable. The 7.1 Nougat, https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-10-1/development/rom-android-7-0-nougat-t3471350, looks promising but I haven't got CWM recovery to flash the zip without giving me a "No File_Contexts warning. If I could get a tar.md5 ROM I would use Odin3 in a heartbeat. Version 1.85 is the one I use most and thats just to undo the softbricks, by flashing in the original firmware. If you live in the US its this, https://www.androidlegend.com/update-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-wi-fi-p7510-with-ics-4-0-4-uelpl/. Run that through Odin if you ever get stuck in bootloop crash the tab, pretty much anything but a hardbrick. The 8.0 Rom I'm waiting for the developers to complete.
